When exactly do you have to have paid for the dining plan in full at check'in, 45 days before arival or 3-5 days before arrival? I would have the $$ when I got there but not at 45 days Sorry if this has been answered 1000 times before

If you are staying DVC you pay for it when you get there. If you have a MYW package for the room it is due at the 45 day mark when the package is due. If you are concerned about not having the money at the 45 day mark you could book the MYW package for room and tickets, leaving off the DDP. Then about a week before your trip (3-5 days prior may be the minimum to add it on) and add on DDP and payment would be due over the phone right then - the only possible problem is that for changes made that close to your reservation they may charge a change fee, however it is unlikely to see the fee imposed when you are adding to your package/spending more money.

Thanks you so much for the information now I know what to do and might splurge for some extra days at the world:)

If you happen to have a Disney Visa, you could charge it to the card and you will have 6 months to pay it off at zero interest.

I agree with the previous poster, you should not be charged a fee to add the Dining Plan before your arrival. I spoke with Disney reservations about possibly adding something to our package just prior to arrival. I was told that, if you are adding to (in other words....spending more money), there are no fees. Here's hoping you get the money saved up!

I would call and ask specifically about your own reservation. There is a stated fee charged for making changes inside of 45 days. I would want to know my options/penalities before I make my plans. That way I have the facts, won't be disappointed or pay surprise fees!

We can share a lot on this board, but this is specific to the reservation you have. I received my ME package and was told on DIS that I'd get everything else at check-in, not true. My luggaage tags and vouchers were not at check in, we got them a couple of days later. Did not affect our trip, but had I asked Disney directly I would have KNOWN what to expect. When they didn't show up I could have called and had those items sent to me for check in.

Rest assured, I'm not blaming my DISSERs. I may not have asked the question right or given enough specifics to get the correct answer!
