Paid FP options coming soon to WDW?

A bit of good with the bad- they seriously have to quit naming different things with the same names. Paid, free, in park, in advance...don't care, just bring something back.
Im just curious as why you want some sort of FP system back? it looks like from you posted trips you havent been back to the parks since it reopened? We have back 6x and will be back this Saturday for 10 days. The Only crazy waits we had during those trips where for either PP or JC and that was during Thanks Giving.

I don't want it paid, but if that's what they give us, I'll take it. The overwhelming thing I read about lines is they are an hour plus at the headliners. I check the wait times every day, I read the next day reviews on wait times. None of them jibe with your experience. If rides were walk ons, fine, but they aren't even close to that.

As of right now:

SDMT 75 minutes
Space 50 minutes
Avatar 85
Nav'i 60
Smuggler's Run 95
SDD 110
MMRR 60
RRC 70
TOT 55

These are wait times I have never once stood in. My time limit is 30 minutes and I rarely do that. With FP I'm on the ride in under 15 minutes at most, lots of times a walk on. I don't like standing in line for hours and so I want FP back where I absolutely never have to. The great thing is, me getting to use FP in whatever form it comes back in is a choice that no one else has to make. Without it, I either don't go or I'm forced to stand in these crazy lines. And I know what I'll hear next...the times are exaggerated. Cut them in half, I still don't want to stand in them.

Same. Never waited more than around 35 mins.

No apology needed, was just clearing it up before people got all excited.

It was all of 3 days ago......people probably weren't aware of that information......arguably still some information to be hesitantly excited about...

You've been back during lower crowd levels Post-COVID. Try that with Pre-COVID levels and no FP. If that is your thing then go for it. I prefer to not waste all day in lines.

In the spirit of full disclosure, I did wait more than 30 minutes one time. Our last night of our trip at the MK, at closing, my grandson begged me to get in line for 1 more ride at SDMT. The wait was 40 minutes. I did it. What grandmother wouldn't? Other than that- I have to go back to before there was even legacy FP for a time I waited longer- it was SM, 1.5 hours. And I don't even like SM.

I continue to be excited about it. I particularly am excited about the pic that has workers around it doing whatever it is they do. :) I have no problem with the pic being posted, I was just dating it is all. No big deal.

The only time I waited 90 mins or more was when I first went on Harry Potter Gringots, and forbidden journey. They didn't accept express pass at the time.

EDIT: But notice, I did buy an express pass =]

My longest wait was in July 1992. Family visiting from England, last day in MK, and all of a sudden we noticed a line forming outside the spanking new Splash Mountain ride, where they had decided to do a soft opening. How could we resist?

so what will you do if they dont bring it back or if its paid and not in price point?

I am at the 2 week mark now - Crossed fingers and praying for pixiedust. Very worried about being miserable standing in lines. I am on the docket as one that really hates long lines and will skip rather than wait in a 30 Minute + line. I'd much rather browse merch, snack, take photos etc. than wait in line - Add the stress of packed queues without masks, the new covid variant, and long periods of time bundled up with strangers from all over (whether I choose to mask or not - and yes, I am vaccinated), and I will be very uncomfortable waiting in long lines. Keep in mind, there have been continuous capacity increases since we reserved several months ago - at THAT time, capacity was lower and distancing was in place. The waits were generally much lower than they will be in July now, so that was our carrot when booking... even with no fastpass.

Like everyone else I will either choose to not go back (likely) or I will adjust my park strategy. I am going this next time regardless because of the Star Wars addition but if it were not for that and if there were no FP options then I would probably never return.

My family is not local and we have two small kids. Lines over 30 minutes would be very very difficult for us to get through and we can’t just hop a plane to come back next week if we miss something. We pay a lot of money to visit WDW, and FP+ has always been a guarantee for us that all the money being spent won’t be wasted. That we will have the opportunity to get on the rides (which we are already paying to do when we pay for our park tickets, as far as I’m concerned) - including headliners - in a way that still keeps our vacation enjoyable. I understand that perhaps some lines have, at some times during the pandemic, been shorter without fastpass in some instances. But hour long waits for rides were pretty standard pre-FP. I remember it from my childhood. I was even watching the Imagineering Story on Disney+ last night and there was a clip of Michael Eisner from when he first came to Disney, taking about how he’d waited in line for an hour for Space Mountain. As capacity continues to go back to normal, wait times will only increase, and if it gets to a point where the wait times are prohibitive for my family then we just won’t be going to Disney. Which would make me sad. Which is I want FP back.
