The challenge with some of the packages becomes scheduling. That could get ugly in a hurry. Example

Hope you were planning on a commando day, not having a good dinner/lunch ADR, or throwing one away.

Honestly, if they evolve down to minimal reserved fast pass and more day of fast pass purchases with a limit of only for next 3 hours. That way no matter what time you show up, you have a chance to start locking in fast pass reservations for rides and minimize the feeling of being captured by a plan you formed 60 days in advance. I doubt the cost would be out of line with what people pay at Universal.

Unless they can some how make paid package FPs anytime FPs for those rides paid for in the package.

I'm not going to argue the potential merits of a case for this change, but 20-30 years ago many corporations operated very conservatively to avoid potential lawsuits. In the past 10-15 years as pressure has mounted to produce profits (and CEOs/Executives have been incentivized to think short term), many corporations have become lax in that approach. They looked at the past and saw how few lawsuits they were paying out on and then looked at how much money they were leaving on the table to make sure they avoided any reputational hits from a lawsuit. Is anyone surprised that profit-driven executive teams decided to wade right into the muck?

Yes in past winning lawsuits against a giant like Disney may have been tough, but not because they had the best and brightest lawyers but because they were cautious. Many recent cases have proved these giant corporations are prime candidates for oversight and simple greed clouding their judgment.

And sometimes companies go ahead with plans despite advice from legal that it’s a bad idea.

Eliminating EMH is what you actually want to happen? Like, drop the perk altogether so you can pay for it instead?

And kill your three "free" fastpasses so you can now be charged additional money for the third one (albeit anytime vs. scheduled)?

I'm not getting how you feel this is better.

We have found night EMH to be worthless now anyway. They’re aren’t as long or as late anymore so more ppl go & stay the whole time. And with no FPs, lines are long. We are fp “refreshers” so we get way more done during the day with FP than we do at night with EMH.

Ya they’ve pretty much ruined them at this point. I used to plan our parks around going to magic hours, because they were great. Being in Magic until 3am or MGM until 2am, you could get a ton done. Now I tend to avoid them at all costs unless everything else closes too early. It’s barely an incentive now. And it was the primary reason to ensure we stayed on property for a long time.

We went last July (middle of the month). We did a 1am MK EMH close and an 11pm regular night close. We rode more things during the normal close night, despite it ending 2 hours early.

EMH is too busy now.

We use PM ones as an opportunity to take in the nighttime atmosphere at the parks, especially when we go at a time of year that MK closes at like 10. The lines are not worth going for.

In 2015 EMH's were abundant. About 35 hours worth per month.

Now I think they are down to the low teens.

It's almost like they knew cutting supply (hours) while demand rises (attendance) that they could offer for a steep price what they once gave you.

Seems to fit with this FP rumor.

Yes - that's correct - sorry - I thought he was referring to the 3 CL FP's! So you can technically only get 4 tier one's per day.

I do the AM EMH, ride what I want to ride with lower lines, and often leave early afternoon for another park. The key is to get there before rope drop and really hammer the first 2 hrs before many guests roll in.

This was in regards to leveling the playing field.

My guess is the way the 4th FP works. When your only chance of booking a 7DMT, SDD, FoP, etc is at 6 pm or later, then that means your FPs are 3 and done.

But, if you get an early hard to get FP, and get your first 3 all before lunch, then you have all afternoon and evening to get and use FP for lower priority attractions.

The result:
Those with early headliner FP get FP for the lower tiers
Those with late headliner FP get stand by for lower tiers.

This was one way the legacy FP was so much better. Regardless of what time your FP was for, the longest you ever had to wait for the next FP was 2 hours.

Getting shut out of FP for the entire day because you want that late FP really is a terrible system.

To be clear, I am NOT advocating for paid FP. This problem could simply be fixed by mimicking the way legacy FP determined when you could get your next FP.
