Ah the things we notice to get our hopes up

I wonder if those Disney IT CMs would giggle over the reaction we give for seeing “stand by” on the MDE wait time screen. :jumping1:

Perhaps they are just playing with us…
I am not getting my hopes up again.

I have my hopes up. I'm more interested in the cost of it. From what's being said is there will most likely not be a free tier anymore.

I have an Android. Doesnt say standby. I am going to try updating/playing around with it and see if it changes. Anyone have an Android that is showing "standby?"

My Android does not show "standby" and I checked in the Play store and the most recent update is from the end of May, so whatever this change is has almost certainly not been pushed to the Android app yet.

This is normal for Disney. They tend to generally push new things to iOS first (like MagicMobile).

Not to switch topics back, but thinking back to the paid FP idea. I mean....I get Magic Kingdom really just due to the quantity of rides. But is anybody really willing to pay significantly more money to ride the rides @ Epcot quicker? I love Epcot on the whole as much as the next guy, just not sure I would pay extra money for Soarin' and the new Norway boat ride. Maybe when Guardians is there, but certainly not before. And then...Animal Kingdom? I mean...there are only like 5 rides in the whole park. Especially if the paid FP only allowed one ride, I'm not paying an extra ~500 for my family of 4 to do something quicker that we could get done in a day with a smart touring plan anyway.

Sorry, just still processing things. Back to your regularly scheduled program...

I agree. This could be the unintended consequences of a paid fastpass system. We like to go to one park in the morning, go nap, then hop to another park. We might change this strategy to not park hop and then not buy the big upgrade for Epcot for sure, and probably not AK either.

Would you mind shedding some light on me regarding the smart touring plan??
Rope Drop? Go in Jan/Feb when the crowd is low?? Those won't work for my family. :guilty::guilty:

Inflate the standby times shown on the app motivating more guest purchases of experience upgrades. Disney change the name so guests don't confuse the new program with the discontinued, free Fast Pass (+) program

I’ll take it a step further. If they’re really selling real-time dynamic fastpasses then they have a strong incentive to systemically increase wait times at unpopular attractions and reduce capacity in real time to encourage more fastpass purchases. BTMRR only has a 15 minute wait? Let’s close one fo the tracks.
