Paid for airfare via paypal but the payment doesn't seem to have gone through

haha well I am glad you brought it back to life! I am in the exact same position and I am freaking out a bit. I booked a return ticket from Lufthansa using PayPal, the first time I tried to process it failed and came up with a red message at the top. The second time I tried using alternative choice in PayPal, it worked and I received my booking confirmation. However, when I logged into PayPal the first time and second attempts were there.

The first attempt saying "Your funding source will be charged when Deutsche Lufthansa AG completes your order."

and the second which I received my booking confirmation "This is a temporary authorisation to make sure your funding source will cover the payment. Your funding source will be charged when Deutsche Lufthansa AG completes your order."

I do not know whether to contact PayPal or Lufthansa first. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks a lot

walker_199 - What ever happened with you regarding this flight? I am in the exact same situation with Lufthansa, paypal is giving me the same exact message. I've called Lufthansa 3 times, Paypal once and the bank once. The bank says that no one has tried to get the money out. Lufthansa says that they are completely paid and the tickets are issued, period, end of story. Paypal says that Lufthansa has not tried to take the money out of my account yet. The issue is that my bank account will only allow this transaction (over 3k) if there is an authorization on the account for transactions over 3k, and those authorizations are temporary (they only last from 9am to 5pm on the day that I call to create the authorization). So, I would have to call every single day to make this temporary authorization and hope that they charge me between those hours. I can't change the payment method with Lufthansa because... they say they've already been paid.

Anyway, did you ever get charged, and if so, do you remember when? Did you lose your seats or tickets? I'm really anxious about this whole mess.

I've booked the flights yestarday paying with PayPal and today I noticed too much money on my acount so I checked the payment and it says pending. On their page I found the information that PayPal is only an option for some countries, mine not being among them. I then called of course, but they told me everything being okay with my tickets. I also emailed them, but no reply... Just saying, that this is my first buying plane tiskets and first flying at all. I have no idea what to expect.

Hi Cameron. I ended up being charged by PayPal eventually. I had my tickets and got on the plane just fine. PayPal apparently split up the payments into little portions (1 for my ticket, 1 for husband's ticket, 1 separate charge for each seat upgrade, etc). Apparently PayPal does not have to live up to the bank accounts daily usage restrictions for some reason - I am assuming because it's a direct draft from the bank account, sort of like when I pay my credit card from the account in one giant chunk. So, hopefully, you will be fine too!
