PaHunters camping season comes to an abrupt close due to cancer.

Sure, it's a hit (few) or miss (more) though anybody's mileage may vary at Tony's Town Square.

I was just going with the long, LONG Term averages which are (generally) poor. But every once in a while a blind squirrel gets an acorn.

Tony's is actually a family favorite for us as well. We always have a good experience and enjoy the food. For the record, we are not 'foodies,' so we aren't big fans of the more eclectic fare, but our kids want Tony's worked into every trip we have!

I'm not a foodie either, Marty. I have pretty low standards for theme park food but I would not book TTS if it was the last table restaurant available in MK (and often haven't in those conditions). If your family likes it, you're a lucky man.

It's been the RELIABLY worst Table Service restaurant in the MK for the last three decades (at least) and a frequent target for the DIS podcasts. But we are all looking for TS meals at times in MK (I look for The Plaza or Skippers Canteen) but I don't do buffets/AYCTE (other than maybe Trails End) and the fixed price menus are a laugh. :rotfl2:Although I did get a Cast Member Discount at Cinderella's Royal Table (wouldn't have done it otherwise). Everyone's entitled to their opinion but my experience over three decades is to avoid Tony's.

There's got to be a good place in WDW to get Italian. Maybe at Epcot? :confused3

Ed

PS - I paid 5x for Be Our Guest when it was NOT fixed price. But the dudes didn't even put salt and pepper shakers on the tables (the waiter told me twice the cooks season the food and I should <basically> eat that they give me and I laughed at him and said "bring me the s/p NOW" which he did (his tip was in the balance then). And I didn't even ask for Tabasco to flavor the food some more.

So late update tonight, we have a donor, 2nd transplant will take place on the 13 of Nov. Week before will once again be chemo and radiation.
Excellent news, very happy to hear.
I see in the background of the LEGO build there is a motorcycle magazine. Are we looking at a new bike?

Good eye Joe. No it is Road Runner, more of a touring and reviews of towns they visit. No I am not looking for a new one, we like the one we own now.

Day 44 in the hospital. All lego kits done, but it is Sunday so football on to watch. Another cloudy dreary day here.

So todays numbers are ok, staying level. The night shift has learned quickly to let me sleep, they do wake me at 4am for labs, but by the time they are done, I have dozed off again. Need to sleep and build strength for that 2nd week of Nov, when we start chemo and radiation before the transplant.
Just hanging in there awaiting transplant. Then wait and see how things go and when I can go home.

So did Reba come for a visit yesterday or Friday? How exactly can you get her in to see you?

ED

That is great news on the donor and timeline. Too bad you can't dress up for Halloween, you could easily shoot for Mr. Clean or Fester Addams.

Did you get to see Reba and enjoy some pizza?????

As for your donor, it would be interesting to see how that does change things. I guess not having much sense of smell and then everything starts to smell can well.....stink.

I did not get to see Reba this week as the weather here has been rainy and not conducive to a visit. She unfortunately can not come in, so DW brings her over and I get clearance from the Dr to take a trip outside. So then I can visit with her as long as I want to stay outside.
DW did not bring pizza either, she promises she will one day after work this week.

One of the other things that should change is my blood type to what the donor is. The first one I should have gone for A+ to A- which did not happen. So we will see with this one what happens. It could also reset my allergies (that would be nice) again we will see.

1. Oops.
2. Confused.
3. Are you A-Pos or A-Neg?

That is a bummer you did not, though I hope you get some pizza to fuel yourself up for the next round.

Currently A-pos, my first donor was A-neg, but with the failure my blood type did not change.
The Dr tells me it will change to whatever type the donor is because they are the donors stem cells. Also if my donor is female and you run blood from me after it will tell you are looking for a female. great CSI stuff. All has to do with donors stem cells taking up residence in my bones.

The allergies and sense of smell are a side effect of my body resetting with the new to me stem cells. it has been documented before but not really studied by Drs.
My first transplant seems to have taken enough to restore my sense of smell. Have to wait on second donor and in the spring have a new allergy test run to see what if anything changed.

Our bodies are truly miraculous, aren't they? It's what keeps us living in hope and faith. And medical science is amazing. IMO truly guided by God.

Day 46 and my body threw out some really wonky numbers in a good way. Not sure if it is my own cells that did not die or the donor cells. They did some type of blood test to see. Big cancer meeting tonight where all the Dr's get together and discuss what has been happening with patients and plans. So should know more tomorrow or late tonight if my Dr decides to come up after the meeting.

So today is day 47, we are setting up for the 2nd transplant, they got some of the details worked out yesterday in the meeting. I have a bone marrow biopsy in about 30 minutes. Also have a Pulmonary Function Test scheduled this afternoon. So a busy day. Radiation appointment on Friday to get the forms ready that they use during treatment.
They believe there were enough of my own cells that with the first transplant my body attacked and destroyed them all. So this time Chemo and more radiation at a higher dose.
Reba coming to visit me on Saturday before everything gets crazy here.

So today had a bone marrow biopsy just after lunch. Finished up and one of the Doctors here is also a member of the 501st along with me. She has stopped in some days to make sure I am doing good.
Today she showed up with another visitor,, another member of the 501st. They brought me some presents, a couple of lego sets or three. Well they brought me a total of 19 sets. The cantina set is by far the largest, and there is R2-D2, Vader helmet, the Razor crest and many others. I was so overwhelmed. Great having such awesome families.

Chris How great your cohorts from 501st came by to see you and bring presents. Hopefully weather and other factors will allow Reba to come on Saturday. Our 2 were scared to death of me for 1st 24 hours after I came home. Think they didn't like concentrator and cannula
