Hiya - how you all doing??

Who is coming down to the Scraptastic Crop this weekend - how many of us are going to get together? It'll be a mini Dis Scrapbooking Group Meet

What projects are you all working on? I have been busy making cards, and am now trying to concentrate on the Swap that Bev has organised on the UK Scrappers group - what are you all up to?

I'll be there Saturday and hopefully Sunday if only to have a good old chat and a mini DIS meet (no room to crop on Sunday yet).
Presently working on swap and finishing all those layouts that were half done.

Sorry for taking so long to reply - I keep forgetting to look on the dis boards - too busy surfing for internet and other supplies!!! I hate to think what I've spent on this hobby over the last 6 months but I'm now fully committed!!

Unfortunately I've not got my act together with the crops yet - still a bit nervous about going and what to do!!! Perhaps I could get together with you for the next one??? How often do they do them?

I'm STILL working on the DLP new year trip but getting to the end slowly. Other than that various cards and trying out the shaker cards, also designing my Xmas cards.

Janice, you may recall that my folks were thinking of a place in florida. Well they've rung today and they're flying out next saturday as they've found a plot and want to go and look. I think they're going for 4(!) days but they're going off there again at the end of september after fitting in a cruise to canada - what a life eh!!! They appear to be going for a 6 bedder so should be room for us and mates when we use it and is around 2 miles from disney BUT the exciting bit is they've asked me to be their agent - setting up a web site, organising bookings etc. and should get a cut of the rents - I think my dad realises I'm desperate to get out of my job and is doing what he can. He says me and des are the best for the due to our obsession with disney but as we've only been to florida once so far I think a few more trips are in order don't you!!!

Julie - the crops at Scraptastic happen monthly I think, and they have them at Scrapmagic too - that is in Surrey I think - I haven't been to one there though.

I have actually only been to one before and then onlystayed for a couple of hours - I felt very nervous and self concious - I hadn't even started scrapping but got talked into going by Mark and shimelle - but I have to say that everyone was just so lovely. Everyone is so interested in the hobby and just wanted to encourage me, I was sorry to leave in the end and am really looking forward to Sunday.

It's a pity you dont live closer to me - we could have an afternoon scrapping together - but I am sure you would be fine, it was no different to a Dis meet - everyone just keen on the same subject.

Great news about your mum and dad - how exciting.

I so wish I could meet all of you...I read your scrapbooking posts all the time and Janice you have beautiful layouts!! I just wanted to say that I hope you all had a great time and had lots of fun...where are the pictures??

I've gone off the boil a bit with my scrapbooking at the moment! - I was off the whole 6 weeks holiday with the kids and promised myself that I would start again and only managed about 2 layouts! I really think I need to get to a crop as I've got stuck in a rut and need some new ideas but I feel really self concious (sp?) and DH works weekends too, so it's a bit hard finding someone to have the girls for me. I registered on UK Scrappers at the beginning of the year and get the digests daily but I still haven't got up the courage to post yet! We're moving soon to Hornchurch so I'm hoping that will inspire me to get going again as I'll only be about 5 mins away from Artbase!

you are moving to Hornchurch! I am so jealous! That will definitely inspire you - they have some amazing stuff there, and very nice people work there, one of whom is in one of the new Idea books.
I know they have crops at Artbase - you should try and arrange to get along to one - i'm sure you will come away very inspired!

There will be no stopping you, you know, once your located in Hornchurch - you'll be popping to Artbase every few days to stock up and see what's new!

You should post to the group you know - everyone is really friendly and the inspiration is great

I could definately do it again, I had a fantastic weekend and nobody got that glazed look in their eye when we talked scrapbooking.

I'm so envious of anyone who lives near a shop, it's so different to see things in the flesh.

Is anyone going to the Scrapmagic weekend?

I wished I was Christine I just dont think I could swing another weekend this year though.

At least I am close enough to Scrapmagic to get to their day crops when they have them - and these ladies I met last weekend at the Craft fair from CM said they will be organising a group in Thetford or Diss so I can get there no problem - just have to see what they think of my books I suppose being as it is just soooooooooo UN CM style!! LOL
