I was not impressed with the service at either of these places but Boathouse gets the nod for the food.

Boathouse. Better food. Better service. Better ambiance. Twice visited Paddlefish and received poor host/hostessing both times. Food was overall merely mediocre, less so given it's a Signature. For example, lobster corn dogs were very good. Grilled octopus had some great bites and others where it was obvious the grill hadn't seen touched it and, thus, was chewy. Crab ceviche was funky and after a few bites (on tortilla chips straight from a bag), inedible. Boathouse has solid to good food (I highly recommend the beef carpaccio) and a light, airy feel to it. You can even sit outside on the dock if weather permits.

Just finished our 10-day stay......

We snacked at Paddlefish - it was very relaxing, but the few things we sampled were 'mixed' in quality. However, sitting outside and atop the riverboat was the real treat. Service was lovely and accommodating.

We dined at Boathouse - it was certainly a more hectic environment, and our food was well below expectations (given all the rave reviews).
The filet sliders were tough (at best). The $16 firecracker shrimp that were baby 'popcorn-sized' seemed like a lousy value. $4-oysters were not discounted for the dozen we had (that means $48/dozen:worried:). As to service - the ribeye listed as being for 2-people arrived with only one plate and it took 5-minutes for another plate to arrive. They also allowed a non-service dog into the main dining room (I own three dogs), and I was not the first person to be annoyed as this untrained pet repeatedly begged for food.

Best meal we had in Disney Springs was at Homecoming, but it is pricey for fried chicken, etc.

Since we are planning our next trip with folks who enjoy seafood, we are leaning to Boathouse at the moment....because they live in fried chicken country.....

Luckily, we also enjoyed Shula's & BlueZoo - both are better than Paddlefish & Boathouse.

I looked at Homecomin but one of the people with us is running the half marathon on Saturday and the menu looks a bit heavy for her. Right now I have an ADR at Ale & Compass for 5 pm, Boathouse for 6:45 and Il Mulino at 8 pm.

I'd really prefer to get an earlier Il Mulino and cancel the other two but nothing is available. I think we will decide tomorrow night over champagne and fireworks, lol

Have you tried OpenTable for Il Mulino? They often have reservations closer to what we want. As for Homecoming, it is too heavy. Pretty much everything is fried, and while some of it is fairly good, some was just average. Drinks there are the highlights.

I did not get to eat at Paddlefish yet, but I love The Boathouse! The food is amazing and a great selection on the menu to select from. The service has always been good, and we love the atmosphere.

We had lunch at Paddlefish in October and loved it. The hostess was fast and efficient, our waiter was wonderful and the food was great. We will return

Love boathouse and the food. Went to paddlefish once. The ambiance was awful, the sound was way too loud. Food wasn’t bad, but service was awful. Just our experience.

Yeah, I'm going to keep trying.

Thanks!
