Hi,

My husband and I are interested in paddle boarding when we're at Aulani. In the guidebook it recommends the other side of the island. Any recommendations on where to go and do we need to book in advance? We'll have a car.

I've seen people paddle boarding right in the Aulani lagoon. Never looked into it though.

If you have not done a paddle board before, I would say just paddle board at Aulani before trying it anywhere else. DH, DD and I all did it in the Aulani lagoon and it was fun, but much harder to steer and control than I thought it would be. It definitely takes some upper body muscle! You rent them for an hour at Aulani.

I would say do it at aulani if you've never done it before because you really don't want waves. It's a lot harder than it looks for some (I can't balance to save my life. My husband and kids do great)

If you are a beginner, stick to the lagoons at Ko'Olina. Stay out of the open ocean where wind and waves will make your experience less than fun.
