I just bought a Mac Triumph for our WDW trip in October. I want to gate check it but am looking for a padded bag to put it in. I am not willing to risk damage to a brand new Mac stroller. Can anyone recommend a good padded stroller bag that will fit a Mac Triumph?

Thanks!

Kristine

I have a fairly inexpensive stroller bag - it isn't padded - we usually gate check. But this trip I may put a blanket or something around it before putting it in the bag since we will probably just check it. That should work.

The Mac bag isn't padded, but there is room enough to wrap a quilt or something around your stroller and still fit some other stuff in it. That's what I did for one trip where I was traveling alone with DS at 9 months - I just checked the stroller with luggage. No problems at all.

You mentioned that you're gate checking - just a thought: if you put it in a bag you run a slight risk of them getting confused at your destination and sending it to the baggage claim...that just happened to us in May with a Quinny Zapp stroller, granted the Zapp folds really compactly and when in the bag it looks more like a sports equipment bag than a stroller bag, but it definitely had the big neon gate check tag on it. It was pretty discouraging to wait around at the gate to have them tell us to go try baggage claim. At least it was there, but kind of defeats the purpose of gate checking IMHO.

We have gate checked non-bagged strollers several times without a problem, but I have heard others with not such good luck. So I guess it just comes down to there being a slight risk with whatever stroller transport method you choose.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the ideas. I checked out the Mac bag and I like the idea of it having wheels on it. Nice touch. I am afraid of something like what the PP said happening. We are bringing the stroller because of the LONG walk and tram ride at the Orlando airport so if they take it to baggage claim, that really does not help me at all.

Kristine -
Not to make you worry even more - but the last time we "gate" checked our stroller in the bag we ended up having to pick it up in baggage claim.

I bought my padded stroller bag from Target.com just last month. It fits my Mac Quest great! DH didn't want to just gate check the stroller without protection after spending so much $$ on it. I went to the fabric store and get a neon fabric marker to write "Stroller - Gate Check" down all sides of the bag. Hopefully it'll work and not get mixed up with the other baggage.

Great idea!!!
