What 'extras' do you pack for wdw?? I was wondering about taking laundry tablets save buying them there :rolleyes1. Can you take a travel kettle into the value resorts?? Sorry for the daft questions but as we've never been I really don't know what we will need and what we should leave behind :thanks::thanks:

Hi there. I take laundry tablets and bounce down to Disney. I hate buying it down there. We always have one night that we come back and spend time at the resort (usually the 2nd to the last one). I do laundry while sitting by the pool. It helps with not having so much when I get home. I hate coming home knowing I have all that to do.

As for the travel kettle we have never used one. Only because we get one of the mugs and my husband like to walk down and get coffee while I get ready for the day. But some of my family has brought one down we have stayed at POP and All Stars and they had no problems.

We would never bother taking up valuable suitcase space with a kettle. Like the PP, we generally get a hot drink from the food court in the morning.

I don't take laundry tablets either, mainly because if we're staying at a DVC resort, they provide washing powder and, if we're not, I wouldn't go out of my way to do laundry.

I must admit I do usually throw a few laundry tablets in the case and do exactly what the pp said and do a load while sitting by the pool late in the evening. Regarding the kettle (which you can take) I suppose its a case of 'are you the sort of person that can't get out of the door if you haven't had a coffee first thing'? Are you on the dining plan? If so you'll get a free mug that you can fill up in the food court, if not maybe buy one anyway as they are well worth the money. I sort of think you'll be so excited you'll just want to get out and at it and maybe won't use the kettle if you take it. On the tea/coffee note....this is one thing I would take. The tea on resort is horrid!!
We have got our packing down to a fine art now, but its taken many many years to do it as I always work on the 'I might need this' theory. The store in your resort always has the basics that you may need. I really really would not overpack because you need to have room to bring stuff back:goodvibes

Personally I would only take enough clothes to get you through to the first load of laundry and mega mega mega comfy trainers/sandals that have been well worn in and the other basics that you'll need. :)

We do laundry out there and just buy Tide or whatever from the machines in the laundry room - no chance I'm carting that across the Atlantic!

We take as little as possible. Everything is cheaper out there. You need comfortable shoes more than anything.

So we can take tea bags with us?? In hold or hand luggage?? Do you have to declare it?? Can't you tell I haven't flown for over 20years!!, :rotfl2::rotfl2:

There was a thread not too long ago about declaring it. Some always do some don't. Basically you are supposed to declare anything food wise that you can put in your mouth, so tea bags do fall into that category. But when you tick the customs form and they ask you what you have they often just wave you through. You can be fined for not declaring and then being caught.
We always put them in our suitcases and never declare on the form and have never been stopped, which off course doesn't mean I am telling you to do that, its just a decision you need to make.:goodvibes

On another note...you have or are getting your ESTA's sorted aren't you? Just thought I'd check as you've not flown for sometime and this is a newish thing you need todo.
