I put shoes in a plastic bag to keep stuff clean. I have a shoe spray that I use on the kids shoes if they stink.

Deodorizer balls for those in our family with "stinky" feet! Or if you're cheap, dryer sheets work miracles for shoving into shoes.

Even if they don't smell, I don't want the bottom of my dirty shoes bouncing around in a suitcase with my clean clothes.
