Hi DIS friends! I have a question about how many outfits I need to bring (a.k.a., do I need to go shopping? :lmao:)

I will be at the airport one week from right now (YAY!), so I am starting to think about packing clothes.

We will be there for 8 days, 7 nights, and our daily schedule is usually:
- Park at rope drop (8:30am ish)
- Nap/swim at hotel (2-6ish)
- Return to park for more rides, fireworks (5-?)

One of our days is a water park day. I'm going through my closet, and I don't know if I have enough shorts/tank tops! I REEEEALLY don't want to do laundry if I don't have to.

So - what does your family do? In the past, we've packed enough for 2 outfits a day (since after your break, you don't want to go back to the park in your sweaty clothes from the morning!). But it seems like I've always come home with clothes I didn't wear.

Thanks in advance for the tips! I am getting soooo excited! :yay:

We usually pack one outfit per day and then thrown in a couple of extra shirts and socks (things that get sweaty). We do laundry every trip (usually while we are at the pool) so that when we get home everything is clean. Some people bring half of the clothes they'll need, do laundry and where the clothes again. I don't because I don't like seeing the same clothes in pictures:confused3

We've learned to pack less and less each time and use the resort laundry facilities on a day when my daughter wants to be poolside. They're so convenient and easy, it just makes more sense to us and that way we have more room for souvenirs!

I found shorts for DH and I in the fishing section at REI. Columbia brand, but everyone has them (Eddie Bauer, LLBean, ect) They dry super fast so will be great in the parks - but I can also wash them in the sink at night and they dry so fast, I can hang them to dry and they will be ready the next morning!!! So only 2-3 pairs of shorts each to pack!!! Still working on the shirt part of the packing!!! And I am bringing 2 outfits a day for the kiddos - but their clothes are smaller! lol

Hi..we go one outfit per day and 2 extra tops and socks just like Kimmumum.
For my youngest I pack one outfit (shorts, t shirt, underwear and socks ) in a ziplock bag and when he gets up goes in the drawer, grabs a bag and heads to the bathroom. No muss no fuss over what he is going to wear that day. My older boys wear a lot of the nylon shorts and we wash them in the room if need and hang to dry. No laundry on vacatio for us.:laundy:

I agree with the PP about bringing extra tops and socks. You will get sweaty. Also, remember you'll need extra underwear with all of that swimming! :goodvibes

How did you resist the urge to start packing until now??? I couldn't help myself....I've been packing for weeks :sad2:

Maybe there's a 12-step program for me! :lmao:

LOL! Oh, I've definitely started packing non-clothing items. It's just that, I know the second I pack my clothes, an hour later I'll be like "Where's my blue tank top, I was going to wear that tonight!" :lmao:
