Looking for a bit of info here....We are heading out next week for a 7 night Disney Cruise. This time we are flying, and I have been packing. For all of you who have flown with your pins where do you pack them??? I am taking a small trader bag, it is the one they sold at the Disney Store for one of the sets they sold there. Now my question is: Do I want to pack them in my checked luggage which we all know someone goes through to search...will they still be there whenI get my luggage back? Do I put them in my carry on?? Will I even be allowed to put them in a carry on??? I know it sounds crazy but usually we drive to Florida and have never had this issue before, and I also know that there are people who take ALOT more pins than I will be taking ( I take more for a week at the park) I just found last cruise there isn't a whole lot of trading but I allways like to look at the CM's for anything I like......LOL
Thanks for any help from you all I thought it better to post this one here than the cruise boards......Thanks.

Ive carried them on multiple times- Just make sure to have them easily accessiable to show if needed- Ive never had a problem getting through security

We always carry our pins on. Just be sure to allow a bit of extra time going through security!

How much do they look at the pins??? I mean are they going to dig through the whole bag or just flip through the pages and let me go??? I have flown a couple times getting my DD to college in Florida and my experiences have been that the people who do the searching of your carry on's are some of the most rude people I have EVERY met in my life. I am all for the security please don't get me wrong but in my opinion these people have no business talking to and treating the people they are searching like they do. No Please and thank you's from them the last time I flew they were telling me to move to another area to have them pass the wand thing over me and all the while someone else had their hands in my purse!!!! I am sorry but I think that is wrong who is to say that they are all so honest???

Ok sorry for the mini rant there but that is how I feel about the screeners.

That being said I am happy to be getting some info from you guys on this and will make sure they are easy to get to when I get there.....thanks

We fly out of Baltimore/Washington Airport and I think that the security is pretty tight. Usually we carry on 2 backpacks (over 30 lbs of pins each) and one or two large cases of pins. They do check every page and empty out EVERY pocket when checking. We have never had any experience with security being rude (a little incredulous at the sheer number of pins, but never rude!)

The flip side is that when we fly back out of Orlando, they say "are those pins?" and when we answer yes, they wave us right through without looking! Hard to say what you can expect, but we always leave plenty of time to be searched anyway.

We also fly out of BWI, and have encountered meticulous inspection, but never rudeness.

In/out of Orlando -- Pins? They must see them all day long.

We always carry on our pins, fly out of Chicago O'Hare and Midway.

Have the books seperate and we have learned that if we tell the screener that is helping to place the bags on the belt that the bags contain metal that their machines don't like they usually look quick at the inside before sending them through. They then tell the person running the machine and it seems that only about 50% of the time that they look further at the bags.

When they do, they flip to every page and open the pockets up.

We found that in the carry on they want to look at all the compartments etc. so it seems much quicker keeping them seperate and telling them in advance what they are.

Remember you can always put them back in the carry on to wheel them around the airport after you get through security.
