You don't need to take a flat iron, unless it's something special for your hair.

The coffee filters are the basket type with the flat bottom.

I checked your list against mine.
  • I don't usually take beach towels but you are driving, so why not?
  • ponchos? or waterproof windbreaker. Hat with brim.
  • vase for flowers (which I buy at the grocery store) or other item to personalize room
  • bug wipes? I've been chewed up in EPCOT during illuminations.
  • ziplock bags

Welcome home ! Have fun!

Dishwasher soap is provided. Bring salt and pepper. I like to have chip-clips or clothespins for closing snack bags.

THANK YOU!! We leave in 2 days so I was hoping I'd get some responses. I can't believe I forgot the ponchos and zip lock bags. I'll add salt & pepper to my shopping list.

What size / type filters do the coffee makers take?

"LindaBabe - I don't usually take beach towels but you are driving, so why not?" What towels do you use when you go to a water park? Do you take towels from the room or pool area?

Thanks again!

Don't forget clothes. ;)

Flip flops are nice for the pool

Unless your laptop has an SD card reader (or whatever type of memory your camera uses), make sure you bring your USB cable to copy pictures onto your laptop to make space (assuming it's digital).

I personally like to bring a fan for the room for sleeping... just to help block out the noise should I get a loud neighbor...

As was mentioned before, you'll want bug repellent of some type too.

Maine to FL is a long drive. Do you have an emergency kit for your car? This may include a first aid kit, emergency flares, battery jumper, that sealant stuff for your tires possibly, flash-lights/batteries, make sure your spare tire is good and that you have the tools to put it on.

Id also suggest a once over on the car - oil change, check tires, engine/transmission, etc.

Do you need any pillows/blankets for the car ride so that others can sleep while someone drives?

I think you mentioned air mattresses - dont forget the pump to blow them up (unless you're doing it by mouth).

That's all I can think of for now... Good luck!

Don't forget clothes. ;) Yup, got those. Didn't think I'd bore you all with my list of undies and such ;)

More good ideas. Things I should probably have in the car anyway.

Id also suggest a once over on the car - oil change, check tires, engine/transmission, etc. already done! :thumbsup2

I usually take bug repellent -- but have never needed to use it!
Towels at the Water Parks are $2.00 each for a wimpy towel -- they are the same as the pool towels, so the second time we went, we took some of the pool towels with us (I managed to forget our towels this last time).

Wine/beer? Directions to grocery stores/Walmart?

Small food storage containers (are you using free dining -- you will probably have leftovers). Sharp paring knife.

Spray bottle for the park? You can get free ice water at most locations. Handkerchief for keeping damp around your neck, or for mopping brow.

Tickets! Lots of money.

I am not exactly sure what its called, but I bought one on a beach vacation and it came in so handy that I bring it on every vacation. It's the size of your credit card but a bit wider and fits a few cards, license, and cash and is waterproof. You can put your valuables in it and hang it around your neck. I've seen them in grocery stores and drug stores from time to time. Oh, and don't forget to have a GREAT VACATION!!!:dance3:

This is called a lock box or a water wallet. I've bought several from Amazon in the last year because my husband works in a secured facility where he not only has to have a special badge, but also a couple of other small items. So instead of just wearing his badge on a lanyard and carrying the other items (and risking leaving them behind, in a pocket, ets), just about everyone uses these clear, acrylic cases like these. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018QEU10/ref=ox_ya_oh_product

I got a different case for us to use at water parks, though. It's large enough to hold not only ID and money but also our small digital camera. I got it at LL Bean for $15.

Sounds like you all defiantely have it all packed now. Have fun!

Thanks Tara - I am going to buy the one for the camera right now.

Your list looks pretty good. However, I have added a new item to my list - Swim Ear. It has been a god send. :)

Anyone in your family wear prescription eye glasses? I always pack a spare pair in case mine get lost or broken.
