Packing List Tips???

I am the #1 fan of the ZIP-LOC system!
I started doing this our first trip when kids were 2, 3 and 5 and still do it now that they are 8,9 and 11!
In each bag goes shirt, shorts, socks, underwear and accessory (hair tie, earrings, etc.) Fold neatly, press air out and zip!
unpacking is literally tossing the bags into dresser drawers at the resort because nothing comes un-folded! The kids -- and husband--simply choose a bag of coordinated clothing and there is no discussion of what to wear or were are my socks?!?

**also, there are 5 of us and we usually end up bringing 5 suitcases. If one of the suitcases does not make it........no problem because I put in 2 outfit bags from each person in each suitcase!!! that way, even if half of the suitcases are lost, we still have clothes for a few days.**

I carry on my meds and bathing suit and things I can't live without!

We did this for the first time last May. There are six of us and we went for eight nights and took enough clothes to not have to do any laundry. Two of us stayed at CR and we know about their limited drawer space. I just stacked the clean ones up in one cabinet and when they were worn I just put them back into the bag and stashed them in the other cabinet. Also, one of my bags was TSA searched going and coming and I felt so much better having every thing in bags.

Kelley Rippa said one time she was the ultimate packer. She could pack for a family of five in a carry on. Space bags baby. Space bags - zip locs, same difference. Best thing since sliced bread!!

Someone once suggested rolling all clothing instead of folding it. I tried it on my last trip to FL and it was terrific! I seemed to be able to pack a whole lot more in my suitcase with room to spare.

I am also a HUGE fan of the Zipoc bag system. I only use it for the kids and it is a major time saver in the morning. All the kids have to do is pick a bag. They (and by they, I mean I) don't have to search for matching items and accessories. It helps me to be sure that I am packing the right number of items, too. An added bonus is that it keeps the drawers neater.

We reuse our ponchos from the trip before 'cause they will usually last at least two trips. Each person has their own ziplock bag with their name on iit. That way, when it starts raining, we aren't trying to find out whose poncho is whose. My husband doesn't like anything tight on his neck so he made a small tear down the neck of his poncho. We also have a child size poncho in the bunch. When we brought along a stroller, I had a couple of the cheap disposable ponchos I purchased at our local Wal-Mart. I use those to cover the stroller while it was parked. I tied the hood up in a knot and draped the poncho over the stroller. It was kept nice and dry.

Wow its a small world...is this the Tennessee thread? I'm from Murfreesboro and will be taking my 7 year old son 9/28-10/6! We are staying at the BCV.

This will probably seem very random but...
a flutter board!

Originally, I packed mine because I was having piriformis pain and it was suggested that I do lots of kicking in the pool to help relieve the pain.

It was also a great make-shift table. The actual tables aren't easily accesibly from all angles of the bed (especially with more then one person on the bed), and the flutterbaord provided a nice flat surface for us to put our drinks and snacks on. Also great to sit on if you get pushed off the bed and are stuck on the floor

As mentioned, I found an extenion cord quite useful.

Scissors! For some reason we forget to pack these every year... this summer was the first time we brought them. Definately gald we finally did.

Also... small shopping bags. Or as I called them "my shoe bags." I was there when Faye hit, and since I hate the feeling of wet feet I put small Disney shopping bags (they were mismatched, though ) over my socks to keep my feet nice and dry. Best idea I ever had

Anyways, that's all I have for now. I apologize for the randomness, but I hope I was of some help!

I also pack coffee, coffee filters, tea bags, sugar, large mugs (we like the bigger mugs). A friend of mine goes to COSTCO and buys the to go cups with the lids and packs them.

regarding the Laundry?. We have always pack enough to wear for our trip, but next July we will be there for 14 days,when Is the best times of the day to do it?
