Packing liquids in suitcases?

Does anyone have tips or thoughts on packing liquids in suitcases (not carry-ons, of course)?

We are leaving on Friday    , staying in a 1 BR at BWV. We are only staying 'til Monday, so I don't think I want to go through the trouble of having groceries delivered, but would like to be able to have quick breakfasts in our room (esp. since DS (almost 3 y.o.) and I wake up hungry!). I have plastic bottles of OJ and juice boxes that don't have to be refrigerated during transport, but wondering if these can even be packed in our luggage--will they bust open? Should I even bother?

Oh, also--there's coffee in the villas, right?

There is no restriction about liquids in checked bags but be careful - you don't want your items (or other passengers items) to arrive soaked in OJ. At the very least put them into zip lock bags and put lots of soft items around them.

Honestly though if you don't need enough for a grocery delivery there is a sundries store on the boardwalk. The prices are high but if you only need a few things it may be the way to go. We always pack cereals and snacks but never liquids.

I always double-ziploc liquids (meaning I put them in a heavy ziploc freezer bag, seal that bag, then put in another freezer bag and seal that one).

That said, for myself, I wouldn't bring juices and things in my luggage. They're so heavy - and airlines and very strict about the 50-pound weight limits for checked bags. I'd just buy that stuff after arrival.

Every year when we go to Disney I take 4 boxes of capri sun waters with us. I leave the juice in the box, tie some plasitc bags around it and pack it with soft stuff. Never had a problem. Another graet option is ship a case of costco water directly to your resort for $7.00.

I have done it 2 times and both times I did it 4 days before our arrival and it was there waiting at the desk for us.

Last year I packed 2 bottles of Bailey's Irish Cream (for a true eye opening coffee! ) in a suitcase and wrapped them in foam rubber and some tape. They arrived in 1 piece! All checked baggage is xrayed so mine had a tag in it saying they had opened and looked in the suitcase.

I have to agree with the DOUBLE ziploc bag approach. I've packed shampoo in a ziploc that has come open and got over everything in the bag, but not the clothes. I usually try to keep all the liquid/messy things in one suitcase - just in case.

Just flew home yesterday with a bottle of ahh, umm.. adult beverage in a glass bottle in a checked backpack and it arrived safely. packed a bunch of stuff around it and it was fine.

My packing secrets. . .

1. All clothing and shoes are packed in XL ziplock bags.
2. All Toiletries are double packed in Ziploc freezer bags, zipper from first bag ON BOTTOM of second zipper so the zippers are not together.
3. liquid items packed similar to toiletries, though if its glass bottles I will "pad" with bubble wrap inside the zipper bags.
4. All items placed inside a large lawn and leaf trash bag and organized so everyting fits in the suitcase just so.
5. Zip up the suitcase knowing I will not ruin another passenger's stuff and my stuff is also safe, plus using those XL ziplocks for my clothing and squeezing the air out of them makes more room for STUFF.

How far ahead would you recommend doing this?

That is a fabulous idea! I think water and a box of the Horizion milk will do us fine! Great idea! Thanks a million!

Though when I just went to Costco online, I was not able to find those items. Is there a special way you did it?
