DF and I are spending an 8 day honeymoon in January.... HOW MUCH TO PACK??? How much do you normally pack for a weeks long trip???? I'm worried about under/over packing especially since it's January and everyone says the weather is so unpredictable...

I'm with ya on this one- We (DBF and I) are going in January too for 6 days. I would love to only take a carry-on but I cant see that working out

I guess it depends on what kind of person you are- I wear my jeans multiple times before washing them, I don't mind wearing a sweatshirt on two different cold days as a second or third layer... some people need a completely different outfit for every day/night of their trip. It's just not me (and DBF doesn't care/notice :rotfl: )

Additionally, I am ALWAYS cold. DBF is always hot. He will pack shorts. I will pack gloves and three layers for every day :rotfl2:

(as of right now) my six day (5 nights) trip clothing packing list:
3 pairs of jeans/pants
1 pair of sweatpants
under clothes x 6 (socks, bras, undies)
1 pair of nicer pants or a skirt and 2 different tops (changing for dinner 2-3 nights)
3 tshirts
5 long sleaved shirts/lighter sweaters
4 sweatshirts/sweaters/jacket type heavier layers
Bathing suit for hot tub (DBF's request  )

Plan to layer. I went last year in December and layered long sleeve tshirts under short sleeve Disney ones. When it got warm in the middle of the day I removed the long sleeve tee and just wore the short sleeve one. I also took sweatshirts for in the evening.

Another tip is to not just pack jeans/long pants - pack a pair of capris or shorts - when it gets hot you will be happy! I packed one just in case and ended up wearing them almost all week because it was so warm. The week before my friend had gone to WDW and it was freezing cold during her trip.

I would definitely pack a mix of clothes. You can always do laundry!:laundy:

We've been in January a few times (including our honeymoon!). Just check the weather forecast 2 or 3 days before you go. weather.com gives a 10 day forecast. I checked last year, and it really helped with packing.

Along with the pants/jeans and long sleeved shirts, make sure that you include one pair of shorts (you probably won't need more than one), a few short sleeved shirts, and a light jacket/pullover. Some days, you might find that you need the pullover in the morning, and you can take it off and just wear the short sleeved shirt in the afternoon. And don't forget a swimsuit. The pools are heated, and the deluxes and mods have hot tubs.

Have a great trip!

I always pack one outfit for each day, and a few extras, just in case. I usually wear something with long sleeves, and a short sleeve or tank under it so that I can take it off if it gets warm.

We always stay at DVC, with a washer/dryer in the room, so we tend to only bring 1/2 of the amount of days.....8 day trip means 5 outfits for us.

For our Dec trip, we'll bring jackets (coming from Germany, we'll have mid-weight ones), shorts, bathing suits, fleece pullovers, gloves and lots of layers. DS6 is constantly rolling up the legs of his pants because he gets hot (like his own little clamdiggers or capris) so he'll probably bring more shorts than pants.

But we'll check the weather forecast before leaving and try to pack accordingly.
