I don't have kids of my own and I will be taking my DNiece 2.5 to WDW in June. We will be on the ddp and there for 5 nights. Here is what I have already or have planned to take so far:

2 outfits per day
Cinderella outfit for castle dinner
bathing suit
bathing suit cover up
pj's (will 2 pair be enough for 5 nights she has never wet through when she's spent the night?)
rain poncho
baby shampoo
diaper wipes
diapers, pull-ups
stroller
extra shoes
sunscreen
letter from DB &DSIL giving permission in case of emergency
puppy backpack/harness
toothbrush/toddler toothpaste
sippy cup

What kind of things should I take on the plane for her snack wise. We will leave at 5:45AM. Any other advise would be appreciated.I have ADR's at CP, Hollywood & Vine, Chef Mickey's and Cinderella's Royal Table. Thank you

I would suggest taking the following also:

a hat
sunglasses
a picture of her mom and dad
a light weight sweater (for air conditioned restaurants)
any medicine or vitamins she needs
a copy of the parents' insurance card
a camera!

Hi, I'm a travel agent.

I strongly recommend you take a notorized letter from her parents allowing DN to travel with you. I would also take another notorized letter from her parents granting you permission to oversee any medical treatment should she need while traveling. Make sure to have DN's pediatrican's phone number in case of emergency and a copy of her insurance card.

Make sure to take:

Medical/First Aid supplies: infant tylenol, infant moltrin, ear thermometer, band aids, aquafora, etc.... I have all this in a pouch that I always keep in my luggage for my kids.

Take some ziploc bags so you can take some munchies for her off the buffet like cheerios, fruit, cookies for later in the day. The wait staff incourages this. I had one waitress at Cape May Cafe fill two disposable cups with cheerios for my son and insisted we take a banana for the road :goodvibes

In your baby bag, make sure to have a hat for her, sunblock, ziplocks (for anything), change of clothes (she might run threw a sprinkler!) I kept a receiving blanket in the bag to use when in a/c or as a towel with the sprinkler. Clorox wipes to wipe down the tables before she eats, Germ X hand sanitizer because she's going to be touching a lot of stuff and this one is at least alcohol free (walmart has it). Sun shield (sun canopy) for the stroller for when she naps.

That's all I can think of so far!

Do you plan on doing laundry? If so why not take less outfits & laundry detergent/dryer sheets. This way it is less luggage for you to have to deal with especially since you don't have kids. I do laundry every other day, even when it was just dh & I going. We end up wearing the same clothes anyways so we pack less now & with 3 kids, less is better.

Sippy cup-bring some dish detergent to wash it with & bring 2 just in case you lose one.

Cinderella dress-the last time we went my oldest was 4 1/2 & she wanted to wear it to breakfast. Come that am she refused to wear it so just to fore warn you just in case that happens to you. And if she does wear it, don't forget a change of clothes (and shoes if she wears the 'high heels').

My kids don't wear a cover up when we go from the hotel room to the pool. They can't be bothered & just want to get out there & swim.

Does your neice normally wear the harness? If not then I would get her used to it or not bring it.

Are you bringing a car seat for the plane? I am debating this for my youngest. She will be just shy of 2 1/2 when we go in August.

Naps-are you going to stroller nap her or go back to the room & let her nap (we go back to the room as the adults, ie dh naps too)?

I'd bring some snacks for her to so you don't have to buy everything, something that she likes that is easy & clean to eat.

For the plane, lolipops-Ring Pops are great-for my kids I can grocery shop & go down every aisle & check out & they still have some left. Also gummy fruit of any kind for the plane. I break them in smaller pieces so they last longer & they don't eat them all in one breath! They are good for chewing & ear popping.

I would bring one or two quiet toys that won't get lost when they drop to the planes floor. Maybe stickers & paper (my 2 1/2 yo loves stickers right now), a favorite book for her to look at.

Oh does she have a lovey? (a blanket/stuffed animal) Bring that too.

Email addy's to take a picture in Epcot to send to her parents.

And just have fun & go at her pace.

The last 2 trips I have taken have been with my kids as will this summer & I honestly don't care if I ride the E ticket rides as long as my kids are happy & having fun.

Oh & good luck!

I'm "bookmarking" this thread to help me with my packing as our trip gets closer...I just love all of the great ideas - thanks! :)

I would bring an extra swimsuit just in case the one is not dry by the time you're ready to swim again. Fl has a humidity that may prevent it from drying as fast as you'd like.:)

You may want to get her a little sun hat to keep the sun off her ears and we always take a bag with us to the park with waters, snacks, and Kool Aid mixers. gl!

extra socks or slippers for the room! With ac on the floors can get cold and sometimes slippery!

:)

Great lists! Just wanted to add:

* swim diapers

* bring infant tylenol w/you on plane in case ear pain terrible (we had our kids chew the fruit chews and drink during take off/landing and practice yawning as well)

* bring empty sippy cup through security and fill it after security or on plane.

* I second the idea for a collapsible cooler bag for the park - pack her favorite snacks from home in your luggage & bring w/you in the parks, along w/sippy cup and more juice/water for refills- this will save your sanity during lines, shows and prevent waiting in more lines for appropriate snacks!

* rain cover for stroller

Thanks everyone! I know that she loves fruit snacks. I already have a hat, swimdiapers and infant motrin that I forgot to put on my original list. I like many of the other suggestions too. Right now she'd love to wear the cinderella dress every day if I'd let her! She loves getting dressed in frilly dresses and has several that her Mom and maternal Grandma get when they visit Vietnam where her Mom is from.
