Packing for Southwest Splendors

We fly to Phoenix tomorrow, so I am surveying the luggage. Can we, a family of 4, get by with all shorts except for the one pair of pants? It is darn hot here in the Midwest. I packed nothing white, either, after reading about the dirt and sand in the dessert. So we will be a bunch of brown and blue shorted people. I will bring one sweater each for the evening. That is it.

I went in May, and pretty much wore shorts the whole time (except the day it snowed at the Grand Canyon!) so I'm thinking you should be good to go in August!

I just got home from southwest splendors and one pair of pants and one sweatshirt is totally fine. I just needed the sweatshirt for the grand canyon. Good idea not packing many white items because we got dirty on this trip. Have fun this trip is awesome. Chris and Kira were our guides. They were really great.
