Packing for first cruise tips?

Get a Disney character themed door magnet from Etsy. Lots of people decorate their doors with these, they have the Disney cruise spirit, and they make it easy to identify your door. They're flat, so take up almost no suitcase space.

Bring a nice outfit & shoes to wear to Palo and/or formal night.

Bring a couple of sturdy plastic bags, in case you still have wet bathing suits on departure day.

I always pack a first aid kit with bandages, Tylenol, anti-diarrhea meds, pepto bismol tablets, antihistamines, etc because they stock some on board but there’s not much variety if you like a specific brand and sometimes the stores aren’t open. I have stomach issues and changes in my diet can bring on the pain, but not enjoying all the food onboard would lessen the fun.

Put everything out you're thinking of taking, then put half of it BACK in the dresser and/or closet. You don't need as much as you think you do.

My dad always says this for a cruise!

You can get some of these things from the health center, too. I don't know if they charge you, though.

I have some Queasy Beads that I love…depending on the design they are even less conspicuous than Blisslets. I know some people think they are bogus but I wore them at home when I was having a lot of nausea and they really helped. I don’t get too seasick so I wear them more as a preventative measure on the ship.
Thanks for the tip! I think those look nice for the ladies, but as a guy I think I'd prefer the less "beady" look of Blisslets

+1, but you have to pay attention to what type of door you're going to have. Apparently the doors on the Magic/Wonder versus Dream/Fantasy and standard versus concierge level have different magnetic properties.

Second the

leave half the clothes at home

double the swimsuits

something warm for the Buena Vista and Walt Disney theaters (really strong air conditioning on the ship)

Dressing for Disney cruising has gotten very casual over the years, other than Palo and Remy dining. I can wear the same dress to dinner every night if I want ti be a little dressy.

battery operated motion detecting light for the bathroom with the toilet.

i hate having to turn lights on middle of the night when i pee. no. just no.

I read someones advice on getting one of those and literally was so.damn.useful.

I always bring clothespins for the retractable clothesline in the bathtub. And a pop up hamper for dirty clothes.

Take half the clothes you plan to take. Instead, do a few loads of laundry on a sea day.

Bring your own lanyard for your room key (and put it in your carry-on)
Bring your own refillable mug for the self-serve drink stations.
Bring non-drowsy Dramamine *just in case*. the travel-size tube.
Bring sunscreen.
Buy a cheap loofah for the body wash in your shower and toss it in the garbage before you disembark.
If there is a lady in your party, there is a wash cloth in the bathroom for makeup removal. It's marked. (embroidered!)
Bring a cheap hanging air freshener for the bathroom with the toilet. (the tree on a string)

Just so we can say we beat this dead horse into the ground, I will echo the thought that you don’t need to pack as many clothes as you think you need.

Like @jcarwash said, you’re probably not going to sweat much on sea days, so you can “recycle” a lot of pieces of clothing for a second day.

Also, with shore excursions, swimming on the ship, Senses and maybe dressing up for Palo/Remy, you’ll likely find that you are often only wearing a given set of clothes for just part of the day (maybe even just a few hours).

So in addition to not sweating in your clothes, you’re usually not getting a “full day’s use” out of any given outfit the first time you wear it, meaning you can go back to these lightly-used outfits for another round.
