Packing breakfasts for the hotel?

For breakfast we bring: apples, red grapes, pop tarts, peanut butter, whole wheat bread, donuts, milk and juice boxes. Keeps us from eating the same thing every morning, and can double as a snack if one of us is hungry when we get back to the room.

We make a grocery stop on the way in and pick up muffins, fruit, yogurt, cream cheese, bagels, waffles, syrup, loaf of bread, peanut butter, jelly, granola bars, juice, pretzels, peanut butter crackers, sandwich meat, cheese, cereal boxes,
Almond milk, cottage cheese, chips, dip, cookies, carrots, humus, water bottles and soda! We stay in a DVC with microwave and toaster and we eat 90% of breakfast in room along with some park snacks and late night snacks! We usually eat very healthy, but splurge on vacays! Also my family always seems to be hungry???:confused3

Poptars, cereal bars, and the little single servings in a cup of cereal.

DH and I ordered from Garden Grocer, so we'll have yogurt (greek) and either a bagel or some type of pastry. Protein in the morning is essential for us!

I am planning on bringing cereal (driving) and buying milk at Publix or Target before we get there. But I love the idea about a bagel and peanut butter. Especially since I'm from Jersey, and the thought of eating a bagel made in Florida.... I'd rather die! LOL

We drive, so in the past I have packed the Kellogg's single-serve bowls of cereal from Dollar Tree and the single-serve OJ boxes from Aldi. DS only likes dry cereal, so no need for milk for us. This is also the only time I let him get things like Apple Jacks or Froot Loops, so no complaining from him.

For DH and I, we bring our Keurig and K-cups, along with disposable travel mugs from Dollar Tree. We often eat Lara Bars, yogurt, or bring Blender Bottles and some protein powder and juice.

This cracks me up! We were at my sisters in ft. Myers in April and dh and I went to publix to get a few things.

I know everyone raves about the publix bakery but not us. We got rolls for lunch for a few days...icky, icky, icky. I didn't dare try the bagels.

My mother the year before wanted me to get her chicken salad like they have here in our deli departments. There was none freshly made. I had to get her a pre packaged version and she cringed.

Florida, I love the sunshine, the beaches and the most part the friendly people but the bakery...yuck.

Thank you for starting this thread as I too have been thinking about this. Since we have many evening activities (MNSSHP, Pirates & Pals cruise, Tomorrowland Dessert party, etc.) I wanted easy mornings in our room.

Do all of the hotels have an option of having a microwave? How would I go about getting one?

Does anyone know how far the Publix is from AKL? I'm thinking of sending DH out (we will have our car) while I unpack, etc.

From AKL publix is fairly close.
1) go out and turn right onto Sherberth rd
2) turn right onto 192
3) publix is about 1 1/2 -2 miles on the right side
(Across from Target)

great info ! thanks for the posts... this is the plan for us as well. everyone I've spoken to suggests character breakfasts- but i feel like thats such waste with my kids!

My dh and if think they are as well. We have gone to a few and I feel like I have to eat x amount to pay for the bowl of cereal my kids eat.

I'd rather spend the money on dinner when I know they will get a veggie, well their only veggie for the trip!

For us, we truly enjoy the character meals. Last year (our first trip) we had several set up for early mornings. This time, we only have one for breakfast - the rest will be for lunch and dinner so we can have easy mornings.
