I am working on packing for our upcoming trip next week. I would like to know what item you wished you had but forgot to pack. I am looking for items beyond the obvious. Of course we will pack our swimming suits :thumbsup2. Really I am thinking about how I have been caught in the rain twice in previous trips and I'll be darned if I'm going to pay for rain ponchos again ;)

Do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks for your help. We are getting really excited to go

Duck tape.
You can use it for everything.
Put it on your feet if you start getting a blister, ripped luggage, broken shoes(bottom of flip flops mostly), just tons of things.

Not enough in the rooms . Also, extra allergy medicines - there's somethiing about the weather and flowers down there that triggers bad reactions among alot of people. :surfweb:

Ditto on the ext cords - or take a power strip so that you can plug all your chargers in at one spot.

Since you'll probably be using a stroller, you might want to take a bright bandana to tie on the handle. It'll keep your stroller from blending into the million and one others in the parking areas. A lot of folks recommend tying a ribbon on the handle but you can wet a bandana in cold water and use it to cool down.

extra plastic bags- ziplock/glad

great to put wet things in, keep small things from getting lost, put ice in, keep camera's dry with, can stash left over snacks in or to save a roll for later...the uses are endless! They are very handy to have and take up very little room.

bubbles or stickers, etc to help keep kids happy in long lines or to help spread pixie dust around to others

chapstick-bc sun-burned lips hurt

aloe-just in case you get too much sun

Night light for those who don't like stumbling around in the dark in the middle of the night. Canvas or plastic type "over the door" shoe rack. I have one that I took last time and now I could never do without one. You can organize all sorts of things in each pocket - sunscreen, band-aids, meds, razor blades etc etc. Collapsable laundry bag to put your dirty laundry in. Another "must take" I discovered on our last trip. It cost my around $2.99 I think, don't remember where I got it though, Wal Mart I think. Keeps the room neat and tidy. Love it. Enjoy your trip!:wizard:

Calamine (clear or reg), Hydrocortisone..just in case you are prone to rashes from heat...eyeglass wipes for reg. and/or sunglasses...some quick snacks for your bag/backpack like granola, nuts, hard candy, etc...

Extra Batteries for cameras stc... the ones at WDW are way too expensive..

Extra ponytail holders (DD always loses hers), moleskin for the inside of shoes (in case of blisters or sore spot), nightlight, extra sunglasses for kids (DS always loses his), batteries, disposable cameras for the little ones...Have fun!

medicine- along with prescription meds..tylenol, immodium, pepto, cough, allergy esp if you have a kid with you...you never know when they will get sick.
sunscreen, bug spray, bandaids, liquid spray bandages, hand sanitizer, baby wipes( some snacks are oh so good and sticky) sandwich bags(diff sizes).
i carried the meds in a soft zip up pencil case that i got for walmart. fit really nice in our back pack.

take a power strip so that you can plug all your chargers in at one spot.

Thank you for reminding me about the power strip! That's the one thing I left off of the packing list that I made today.

I usually pack in a ziploc about 3 loads of laundry powder and a plethora of quarters for the expensive washer/dryers...trash & laundry bags.....swimmers ear....paper towels (we ordered pizza in the room one night and no napkins!) paper plates/bowls, plasticware packets (save up from 'to go' meals), extra 'earbuds' (one pair invariably breaks down) most of the other stuff on my list have been mentioned....

Check on all cords to dvd player, video recorder, phone, camera's.....

I also pack a lot of food since we eat breakfast in our room usually...

Have a Great Time!

Hugs,
Mary

Extra large ziplock bags. I used one for my camera bag when I rode water rides. We also had one to put our 4 ponchos in after we took them off.

Extra socks, underwear & bras. When we went in May it was humid & it felt great to change that stuff if you go back to your room during the day. Also ziplock bags for wet wash cloths great to carry in the parks nice way to cool down. We would put some ice in with the wash cloths. Xtra memory card for your camera.

cold meds, we all came down with a cold on our last trip and I don't think I'll ever travel again without dayquill/nyquill

*magnet men (magnets with a clip) put on the back of your door to hang schedules, lanyards, tickets, etc
*fever thermometer (just in case)

Scissors come to mind. I brought these on a whim, last time, and used them often to open things/cut tags.

Addresses and stamps for postcards.

We always bring a shammie towel with us to the parks. It's GREAT for drying off soaking hands and/or feet if/when caught in a rain storm. It sucks up a TON of water, then you wring it out and start again. It also is great for drying off benches, wet ride seats...anything that you may sit on that is more comfy dry than wet! If you get a larger one, you can cut it up into travel size towels stick it in a zip lock bag and throw it in the park bag. I am always SO glad we have one with us!

along that same line, we ditched the ponchos for real rain coats. Long rain coats, that hit below the knee, with real sleeves and real hoods. We got them at Sports Authority for $4.50 each. They are made of PVC...about the same thickness as a poncho, and they fold up the same size as a poncho but they actually keep you dry in the wind and rain. Completely changed our *wet* Disney experiences. :cool1:

have fun!! :goodvibes
