We plan on bringing an air mattress for DS to sleep on. We are arriving very late on a Friday and don't want to have to wait for our checked luggage to arrive before putting the kids to bed. Have any of you brought an air mattress (with its pump) on the plane as a carry-on? Size isn't the problem, I was wondering if it was something they might give us a problem with when it went through security. Any one have any experiences with this?

I don't know why it would be a problem.

How old is your DS? The first night on a $1.50 Walmart pool float would save you from having to lug the bigger mattress and pump. He could upgrade the second night.
