I used to be able to do this type of "skirt" using 1 yard of fabric. I'd cut the fabric in half and sew the pieces end to end. DD's too tall to do that now!! So I'd say for a pretty full skirt use 60 - 72 inches for the "skirt" Hope this helps!! I made this top like that.

This is the type of top I'd like to make my DD. I can not find a pattern for the bodice anywhere. She is a size 10/12 at least. Any ideas? Or do you guys just make your own pattern?

I am making outfits for our trip to Hershey Park....and here is a quick preview. Its Carla C's stripwork top and I had to enlarge the pattern from a size 8 to a size 12/14. Since she gives you measurement charts, it really helps...plus I held the pattern piece up to her several times to get the exact measurement. If you have any questions....let me know. Here is how the top came out.. I am making her "easy fit shorts" too plus the same outfits for my DD3 and DD4 so they will all be matchy matchy...:rotfl:

Can you spy the yummy chocolates on the bodice?? :lovestruc

How Fun! I love how this turned out. We only live 45 minutes from Hershey and I don't even think we are gonna go there this year. This makes me want to go.

Hi all! Hope everyone had a great 4th! We did the parade wa a blast...DD was so excited because people were yelling that they loved her drew...okay...made me feel good too!!!

Today I went to do some shopping with my parents before they went back home and I met mommyof2princesses !!! It was really funny because we pulled into the parking lot at the same time in the same area...this is weird because it is a HUGE parking lot! Now that I think of it...I really am not sure how that happened...other than I was heading for the Disney store where she works.

Here is our proof...

Thanks for the help. I wasn't sure if the pattern could be increased that much and still work. Are you doing the same with the shorts? What size are you going up to? Now I just have to convince hubby the pattern is worth the price. We are going to the outdoor cinema to see Wall E tonight with another family. Wonder if DS2 will stay awake long enough to see any of it???

We went to MK this morning. It was GREAT!!! No Crowds at all. We got Dream fastpasses and a Meet and greet with the Princesses.

We have a new "member" in our family-this is Morgan and Danielle in matching Goofy outfits. Goofy LOVED her outfit LOL

And she went on Splash Mountain and had a blast (it was soo funny a WALL of water got her LOL)

Have fun at the WallyE movie!!! :thumbsup2

I literally hold the pattern piece upto my DD and see if it "fits" before I cut fabric, etc. The only thing I messed up on was that I didnt make the elastic long enough for the straps but I didn't want the thing to hang down too long so.... oh well...its managable.

OK so here is the whole outfit...I just finished the shorts:

Here is DD10 being Sharpay (HSM):

The kids are actually going to be wearing bathing suits underneath this so I made it easy on/off!!! Darn I wish I could say I went to MK today :cool2:

Cindee, I love the Goofy outfits, Delaney was sitting with me and said "mommy, where's Jord?" I said in the picture and she said no, it was someone else. She said Danielle is pretty.

I loved the Splash picture. I love seeing everyone come off of there all soaked. I'm a chicken, I don't ride that one. :scared1:

It's so good to see Morgan! I've been in need of a Morgan fix lately! Glad you had a great time this morning - wish we were there enjoying with you.

Grandma update: I went to the hospital to see her today and she was looking better. The diuretics they gave her took 15lbs of extra fluid off of her body in a few hours! They had her off the nitroglycerin and the oxygen. Her blood pressure is still going up and down quite a bit, so that worries me. But, she was walking around and they're thinking of letting her come home tomorrow. Thank you all so much for your prayers!!

Well ladies & Tom, I want you all to know how much I am enjoying coming here and seeing everyone's stuff. I love seeing the intricate things that the expert sewers are doing and it's so cool to see how excited a new sewer is when they get something complete that can actually be worn! I'm not as good as some of you at commenting on all of the outfits, but I am looking and loving on my computer.

I had a really whiny day yesterday. Riley has started her bazillionth round of antibiotics and since her surgeon was out for the holiday the nurse practitioner prescribed what we have all known for years is useless. She wouldn't listen to me and give me something helpful. I am really frustrated. Riley is now spending another weekend in pain until the culture comes back on the sample she left Thursday. We are having to wait until Monday because of the holiday.

Anyway, I was sitting here feeling sorry for us all day yesterday and then I talked to a friend and we met her behind the grocery store to watch the fireworks (both dh's were working). I couldn't take the girls out where the whole town goes because I was worried that Riley would need a potty.
th_dance006.jpg

Here are the kiddos in the field behind Price Chopper. My friends kids are so tiny. They are like miniature people! She actually has an 8 year old boy and a 6 mos. old little girl who aren't in the picture too. She's a much better person than I am!

We had a great time and my friend and I got to sit and talk while Riley played big girl and took care of the little kids. It was just the thing I needed!
The kids look so cute!! I find it pretty funny that you're watching fireworks behind a place called Price Chopper. I'm so glad you were able to spend a little time with your friend. I can't imagine how hard it must be to have a child who is sick and not have the doctors listen! I'm still praying for your little sweetie.

Okay, I missed quoting on a lot of cute stuff, but I had to go back and quote this one. Firstly, Tessa looks even more beautiful than usual in these photos. Maybe it is the special "gorgeous bathroom"!

Secondly, Luke was so funny when I showed him these photos, especially the one "just for him" :rotfl: He was seriously way impressed! He got all quiet and smiley. Then he said he wanted to take 2 pictures of his Leapster to show Tessa and he proceeded to show me the "poses" Then he said he wanted to go visit Tessa tomorrow and I told him we could not because it would cost a lot of money and he said "can't we use the money for the bills?"
I think Luke had a GREAT idea! Take your bill money and come and visit us!! :rotfl: He is just so stinkin' cute!!!

Thanks for the "gorgeous bathroom" TR refernce. She WAS looking "gorgeous in that gorgeous bathroom!" :rotfl: I wish I would have thought of that myself!

Thanks for praying for Grandma.

HOW CUTE! That fringe costume looks like so much fun! I'm glad that Riley has found something that can take her mind off of how sick she's feeling. She looks beautiful at the beach. You look quite beautiful yourself!

I added you guys to my prayer list. It doesn't matter how old someone is, being sick is scarry!
Thank you!

That looks like so much fun! I wanna come next year! I LOVE Seth's hair. That is SOOO cool! Luke's shorts are really cute, too! Of course I love the girl's outfits as well. I didn't make the kids any special outfits this year. We stayed home while Henry went to work for the police dept. Thrilling!

So I tried to make my daughter a fully gathered top and didn't do it right. I wanted to have it very full like this one. How many times her waist should I use in fabric. The top portion was made from a store bought "pattern". And I just winged the bottom half. The top was 25 inches around and so I made my strip to gather 2x that. It wasn't enough though. I used the ruffler (which OMG I love that so thank you to all of you who talk about it because I have never heard of it until here )
I don't even have shoulder straps to try it on her properly yet, but I am trying to get it right before I use the disney fabric.

I tried to crop the picture to put on here but was unable to figure out how to. I kept wanting to be the entire picture. Thank you for any help you may offer, Valerie
I think that dress looks like it was tripled. so, you'd want to do 75 inches or so. That's pretty much what 2cutekidz said, I think.

Oh my gosh, how cool is that!? I've only had one accidental Diser meeting when I met Krispy at Disney Studios. You guys are so cute! It's great to see pictures of some of the moms and not just the kids!

I'm off to read your TR update after I post this!

Why do I suddenly NEED chocolate!?

There's my little angel! She looks SOOOO cute! I love that Goofy outfit, very clever. It looks comfy, too! Her new doll is very cute. However, my heart still belongs to Jord.

I just love it!! Thanks for showing us that even older girls look cute in ruffles! She looks like such a sweet girl, and pretty too!

HeatherSue,
We said a prayer for your Grandmother:hug:

Thank you, Cindee.

There's a little pond thing in the hospital and Tessa keeps throwing pennies in it and wishing that Great Grandma will come home. Teresa said she did the same thing when I was in the hospital a couple years ago. She's such a sweetheart.

Hi Moonks Mom,

I know this is going to sound crazy, but I went shopping at the same Disney Store this afternoon, and I met mommyof2princesses. We started talking about making disney clothes, and before I knew it we were talking about Disney World and the DisBoards. She told me that she met you earlier today. How cool is that to met a fellow Diser. It just goes to show you, It is a small world after all!!

Hi Mommyof2princesses, :wave2: :wave2:

Take care,
Marianne

I went to JoAnn's today, after working all night...it was tough..LOL, but they have in TONS of new stuff! I bought the new Halloween Mickey and Minnie fabric and had to hold back on the Christmas stuff. I will be working on the cruise dresses tomorrow. I can't wait to finish them, so I can work on other things.

Ugh! I'm having the switching between computer problems again where I quote something on one and forget about it and move on to the other one and, well, yeah. Just got back from Wall E--loved it! Wish I hadn't missed the short they show before and the first 5 minutes (due to a spilled coke, pretzel and cheese sauce right in front of the ticket-taker, necessitating ME taking Seth back to the concessions stand.) :sad2: I will have to post pics of Lily in her Wall E skirt when DH gives me a turn on HIS computer where my USB cable lives (on my computer I have to plug it into the back and due to short cords, that cuts out the sound and trauma ensues so I just leave it on DH's computer) I know, who cares :rotfl: I'm a little rambly tonight. :confused3

This one is just because I love how happy Riley looks in it. I took it on the beach at Coney Island last month. Thanks everyone who is keeping her in their prayers!

I LOVE that picture of Riley! She is a beautiful girl.

I'm dying to see the new Mickey and Minnie Halloween fabric!!! I need to know if I should spend the $10 or so in gas that the trip to Joanns will cost me! :lmao:  :sad1: Wait, if I take DH's car it should only cost half that! :thumbsup2

Details woman details!!!!!! :lmao:

Ok, let's see!
September 19-28th
We're staying at POR Riverside (we got in on the FREE DINING deal! We're gonna eat our way around the world! :rotfl: )
We've got lots of great ADR's (since we've got free dining!)
1900 Park Fair
Rose & Crown
O Hana
Hollywood & Vine
Norway Princess dinner
Biergarten
Liberty Tree
Cinderella's RT

We're all so excited! I asked AbbyGrace the other day, "When we go to Disney, what is the first thing you want to ride?" She looked at me like I was really silly, and said "the AIRPLANE!" :rotfl2:
AbbyGrace is 40 1/2" tall now, so it will be her first trip to be able to ride all of the 40" rides - she is really psyched about riding Soarin'!

I just can't wait!
