Grandma update: I went to the hospital to see her today and she was looking better. The diuretics they gave her took 15lbs of extra fluid off of her body in a few hours! They had her off the nitroglycerin and the oxygen. Her blood pressure is still going up and down quite a bit, so that worries me. But, she was walking around and they're thinking of letting her come home tomorrow. Thank you all so much for your prayers!!
Well ladies & Tom, I want you all to know how much I am enjoying coming here and seeing everyone's stuff. I love seeing the intricate things that the expert sewers are doing and it's so cool to see how excited a new sewer is when they get something complete that can actually be worn! I'm not as good as some of you at commenting on all of the outfits, but I am looking and loving on my computer.
I had a really whiny day yesterday. Riley has started her bazillionth round of antibiotics and since her surgeon was out for the holiday the nurse practitioner prescribed what we have all known for years is useless. She wouldn't listen to me and give me something helpful. I am really frustrated. Riley is now spending another weekend in pain until the culture comes back on the sample she left Thursday. We are having to wait until Monday because of the holiday.
Anyway, I was sitting here feeling sorry for us all day yesterday and then I talked to a friend and we met her behind the grocery store to watch the fireworks (both dh's were working). I couldn't take the girls out where the whole town goes because I was worried that Riley would need a potty.
Here are the kiddos in the field behind Price Chopper. My friends kids are so tiny. They are like miniature people! She actually has an 8 year old boy and a 6 mos. old little girl who aren't in the picture too. She's a much better person than I am!
We had a great time and my friend and I got to sit and talk while Riley played big girl and took care of the little kids. It was just the thing I needed!
The kids look so cute!! I find it pretty funny that you're watching fireworks behind a place called Price Chopper. I'm so glad you were able to spend a little time with your friend. I can't imagine how hard it must be to have a child who is sick and not have the doctors listen!

I'm still praying for your little sweetie.
Okay, I missed quoting on a lot of cute stuff, but I had to go back and quote this one. Firstly, Tessa looks even more beautiful than usual in these photos. Maybe it is the special "gorgeous bathroom"!
Secondly, Luke was so funny when I showed him these photos, especially the one "just for him"

He was seriously way impressed! He got all quiet and smiley. Then he said he wanted to take 2 pictures of his Leapster to show Tessa and he proceeded to show me the "poses" Then he said he wanted to go visit Tessa tomorrow and I told him we could not because it would cost a lot of money and he said "can't we use the money for the bills?"
I think Luke had a GREAT idea! Take your bill money and come and visit us!!

He is just so stinkin' cute!!!
Thanks for the "gorgeous bathroom" TR refernce. She WAS looking "gorgeous in that gorgeous bathroom!"

I wish I would have thought of that myself!
Thanks for praying for Grandma.
HOW CUTE! That fringe costume looks like so much fun! I'm glad that Riley has found something that can take her mind off of how sick she's feeling. She looks beautiful at the beach. You look quite beautiful yourself!
I added you guys to my prayer list. It doesn't matter how old someone is, being sick is scarry!
Thank you!
That looks like so much fun! I wanna come next year! I LOVE Seth's hair. That is SOOO cool! Luke's shorts are really cute, too! Of course I love the girl's outfits as well. I didn't make the kids any special outfits this year. We stayed home while Henry went to work for the police dept. Thrilling!
So I tried to make my daughter a fully gathered top and didn't do it right. I wanted to have it very full like this one. How many times her waist should I use in fabric. The top portion was made from a store bought "pattern". And I just winged the bottom half. The top was 25 inches around and so I made my strip to gather 2x that. It wasn't enough though. I used the ruffler (which OMG I love that so thank you to all of you who talk about it because I have never heard of it until here )
I don't even have shoulder straps to try it on her properly yet, but I am trying to get it right before I use the disney fabric.

I tried to crop the picture to put on here but was unable to figure out how to. I kept wanting to be the entire picture. Thank you for any help you may offer, Valerie
I think that dress looks like it was tripled. so, you'd want to do 75 inches or so. That's pretty much what 2cutekidz said, I think.
And I
UPDATED MY TRIP REPORT!!
BTW...eating some snicker salad right now....yum! yum! thanks for the recipe!
Oh my gosh, how cool is that!? I've only had one accidental Diser meeting when I met Krispy at Disney Studios. You guys are so cute! It's great to see pictures of some of the moms and not just the kids!
I'm off to read your TR update after I post this!
Why do I suddenly NEED chocolate!?
There's my little angel! She looks SOOOO cute! I love that Goofy outfit, very clever. It looks comfy, too! Her new doll is very cute. However, my heart still belongs to Jord.
I just love it!! Thanks for showing us that even older girls look cute in ruffles! She looks like such a sweet girl, and pretty too!
