Thanks!

That is really neat!! I love those!

Just thought I would share a picture of Leighanna. She lost one of her front teeth last night. I immediately thought of Steph and little Megan!:lmao:

WISH TRIP UPDATE 1!

It appears that there are only 2 families with upcoming trips that are linked to the wish tripper thread. One is coming up in August (that family's PTR was linked earlier). I have contacted that family and hope to hear from them soon. When we have filled the requests for that family, I will move to the next family on their list. With so many willing designers here, I would imagine that we could fill their requests pretty quickly.

Stay Tuned!

I guess I missed the other family, unless it's been added. I hope we hear from them soon. I'd like to try and figure something out. I bet once word gets around, we'll see more pre-trip reports or requests for a big give.

a few thoughts of my own.

1. The theme here is BIG give. and while I love to volunteer and give back to my community that usually only happens through other organizations. If I were to search for a foster child or such in my own town there would be little that I would be able to do...I'm only making 1 outfit for the big give and I already had the fabric. There is no way I could make multiple outfits for a family due to time and money. The blessing of the BIG GIVE is that we are all able to put our small contributions together to make a WOW statement. And being part of this give in no way keeps me from participating in things that give directly back to my irl community and beyond. Giving is part of my life. I buy products from companies that give to the charities I am fond of rather than spend my money w/ ones that don't. I am active in amnesty international and the ONE campaign. I hope that the effects of my actions are felt around the world, not just on my block of it.

2. I am in favor for working directly for the Ronald Mcdonald house or MAW foundation. I think you'd find that they will be excited to have us onboard. I also think that then we would probably have to figure out what we can do as a group time and effort wise so we could say that we could do x amount of outfits for x amount of kids every x amount of time (does that make any sense) If we can do 1 outfit per day of the trip for 4 kids every 2 months then maybe that's 1 family w/ 4 kids or 4 families with 1 kid... kwim?

BUT let's not count out the MAW thread here. That would keep the spirit within the community. I just don't know how you'd decide who to Give to or how to verify it.

3. We'll probably also have to set a person to be in charge of shipping the outfits. It was easy to have us each send our contribution straight to Alicia and if we use the MAW thread then we can continue to do it that way but if we start to send them to the charities, I doubt they are going to give us the recipients address. I also doubt that they will want to sort out everyones mail. If that is the route we take it may require sending our outfits to one dis'er and that person sending out the cumulative package.

OK. I'll get off of my soap box now. Whatever the decision is I am on board. I think it is a great idea.

...t.

Since we are DIS'ers, I'd like to go with the boards. At least for now. Now, if someone is a member of DIS, and has a friend or local family wanting something special, then I think that is the same thing. I kind of look at it, that it's our community. We can't all take care of the world, but we can do what we can do here.

I have tendency to over buy Disney fabric. Or get it without something in mind. You know how hard it is to find Disney fabric. I also tend to overbuy patterns, when they are at $1.

Are you kidding $200 for a hoop? :scared1: I only wish to make a slightly larger Mickey Head!!

So, does the machine stop and tell you when to change the thread color?

I don't have the Singer. I have a Disney Brother. Ours tells you when to change color, or when to applique. My machine, unfortunately is only a 4X4. I want the next size!! Keep an eye on :wizard: You might find one someone is trying to sell.

Thanks for the comments on the Pirate ship every one.
I was thinking it looked a little castle-ish too Lily!! Dh wants to call it the grey pearl. I think we can be a little more original! There will be a mast (flag pole) so it will look more ship like. I am going to search out some fabric to make some flags with the kids as craft projects.

I knew you ladies would understand the DH thing! Thanks for the  and :flower:

I could tell it was Pirate Ship. But then I'd seen them before. Why the grey pearl? The color? Can you combine the kids names? I bet the kids will love to make the flags for it.

ok everyone, I'm ordering petti (3) any ideas on color. just curious if anyone has them and the colors they like. I'm at a stand still, I'm wanting 2 all white, but the lady I'm ordering from doesn't have them. I just odered a red, with black and white. Don't know which kid will where that for halloween. I already have 2 of the disney petti. My girls love to wear the pettiskirts. I'm just needing some input. Thnaks

I just made a Petti, and can tell you, the people selling them for $60 are grossly underselling! :rotfl: Now that I look at mine, it looks sort of clownish. :( It's white with red, blue and yellow. But the colors co-ord with the skirt and top I want to make to go with it. As soon as I can get Kirsta in it, I'll be taking pictures.

Oh my......... I've been waiting for Kirsta to lose hers. I had my fingers crossed we'd make it through Dance Recital before it happened. I absolutely hate it, when she walks up to me and shows me her wiggly tooth!!

Smooshed most definitely IS a technical term! :thumbsup2

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. When I made the bowling shirt, it stretched from one side of the shirt to the other (when I layed it out flat like it shows in the picture), to about 1/2" to the end of each placket. If that's not what you were wondering about, sorry! If you post a picture it might help us understand the problem you're having.

The shirt has 2 points for the lapel(I think that is what it is called) I have the 2nd lapel folded and it looks right but with the back collar that goes around the neck I placed it out from end to end you loose the 2nd lapel. I think I have it figred out. My girlfriend who sews is coming over in about an hour and I am going to have her look at it and if she thinks it is good then I will just sewit and hope for the best!:lmao: If not I will post pictures for help!

Thanks so much! Butterick patterns are so confusing! I know I know order some CarlaC patterns!

Cute! I've been wanting to try some of those headbands!

So cute, and getting bigger. Thanks for the photo! We miss that girl!

Now can I whine for a minute? I just paid $99 (it came out even, that was bizarre in and of itself) to fill my gas tank. :sad1: :sad2: :scared: That would buy a lot of fabric!

MAKE A WISH BIG GIVE PROJECT!

We're on for our first Make A Wish family project! The family will travel very soon, so we're gonna have to work fast! If you are interested in participating, and are able to get something together and shipped no later than mid July, please PM me. Let's do all we can to make this trip EXTRA MAGICAL for this family.

Great job on the headbands, those are so cute!

Thank You! I am getting the "Eye" and have been told by my grandma (not the sewing one) that his hair is getting far too long and he "really should get a hair cut" We probably will cut it soon- it's getting hot around here- Finally!!! But he really doesn't want to get it cut! We may have to bribe him. :worried: Oh and the "pooh" dress is actually the backyardigans- LOL

Thanks!
Only cut it if YOU want to!! I let my mom and Henry talk me into cutting Sawyer's hair and I hated it! They are no longer allowed to touch his hair! I just gave it a little trim last week, but it's still long-ish!

Oops! It looked like Pooh from here. You know, the good kind of Pooh, not THAT kind of poo. :rotfl2:

th_toothlesssmile-1.jpg
Still gorgeous!!! Tessa lost 2 teeth within a few days of each other a few weeks ago. Now she keeps trying to find loose teeth in her mouth.

Minnie2: Oops! I thought you were using CarlaC's bowling shirt pattern! I understand your confusion now. Those commercial button up shirt patterns are awful! I made a couple for Sawyer and I'm still not sure I got the collar on right!

Now can I whine for a minute? I just paid $99 (it came out even, that was bizarre in and of itself) to fill my gas tank. :sad1: :sad2: :scared: That would buy a lot of fabric!
:faint: I feel your pain!!! The most I've spent so far is $85, but it killed me!

What a sweet toothless grin! How old is she? My ds 5 is itching to loose some teeth but he got them so late (14 months) so I told him he might have to wait until college to loose some teeth:rotfl2:

The whole time i was /am pinning I keep saying I should just listen to the girls! :rotfl: then again the pattern was .99cents so I figured it was worth a shot.

I hear you all on the gas prices my fill up was $89! The only thing that made it better was I kept telling myself I was earning a Disney reward dollar since i used my Disney Visa!:car: ::MinnieMo

Such a cutie! Jackson has a loose tooth, but doesn't seem to care if it falls out or not. He likes the idea of a string and slamming the door! Weird kid. I agree with PP, you need to post more pics!

Shannon,

Do you have any details? So we can think of what to do before confirming with you? Like size, age, sibs?

Leighanna is six, and her teeth are just now starting to come out. The other front tooth is a little loose, but I am not going to pull it out.
We went to Cedar Point last week.
Here is a photo with Snoopy in the top I made her for Valentine's Day.

Tom - Leighanna looks cute without that tooth! Now what have you been up to lately? We haven't seen any of your customs around here and I miss them!

Oh my gosh! $99 to fill up stinks! I can't imagine! We have been driving my DH's company car (they pay for gas and everything) since I won't let him travel right now (too close to due date) so the car seats are in his car. I've only driven mine three times in the last 10 days and I did have to fill it up and it was $85. It does make you want to cry! I feel very fortunate that we have all that we do and that DH has a comfortable salary but with prices going up like they have been, it does make you wonder where it will all stop. My grocery bill seems like it is out of control lately!

Oh, and it was FREEZING COLD! So most of our pictures look like this.
We took along her BFF. It got me out of trying to fit into those teeny, itsy, bitsy, weeny, seats in the kids area! Did I say the seats were SMALL! I don't think my knees are supposed to touch my ears when I sit! I don't know how many parents I saw squished into those seats. Not like Disney, where I felt comfortable in any ride I rode!

What fun! I haven't been to Cedar Point since before I had kids. We used to go about every year, though!

You must have went on the same day we went to the zoo last week. BRRRRR!! It did NOT feel like June!

Do you see these pics, Cindee? Doesn't it make you want to come and visit? ;)

So that's where snoopy went:laughing: I wondered if he would turn up at another park after he left the Mall of america. Or has he been there for a while??
Looks like a fun day!!

Tom - I never realized you were in Ohio...my DH is from up in north east Ohio, just outside of Akron, a town called Cuyahoga Falls.

He went to Cedar Point as a kid, but moslty they went to Geauga Lake. We plan on taking a trip with the kids year after next and hit all the parks up there and some down here around NC...we can get a season pass that gets us into all of the parks and the one near here.

On the teeth...my middle one that is 6 has not lost any teeth and the dentist said it may still be a while. DS is okay with that!

If anyone wants some of humidity that we are having in Boston, I try and send you some!!! :rotfl2: I'm more than willing to get rid of it.

Ok, here is the response from the mom. I thought I would just PM it out, but it may be helpful for everyone.

Hello there, Thank you so much for your message. That is a VERY generous offer to help me with some designs.I have really enjoyed looking at the boards at all of your designs and have been in awe of your beautiful work.I am a crafty person by nature but don't do well in this area! If you would be willing to help with anything I would be very grateful!

My daughter Hannah is the wish child. She is almost 10.She wears about a size 10.Her favorite is Cinderella. She is crazy about any of the princesses though. She is also in Love with Bullseye from Toy story, and of the Jungle book characters, lion king, bambi.Well, I guess there really isn't a disney movie she does not like. She is pretty well obsessed with any and all disney. She is very much a girly girl and loves pink and sparkles.
My son Logan is 5.He wears around a size 5 and tends to be on the tiny side. His favorite is the movie Cars.Lightning McQween is is favorite. He also likes Toy story .He loves all things fish and is looking forward to Sea World. Both kids are nuts about Finding Nemo.
Anything any of you would be willing to help with would be wonderful. Thanks so much, Heather

Their trip will be 7 days long, so I am hoping to be able to come up with 7 outfits for each child.
