The pants say "Just One Bite" I couldn't get a good picture of the pantleg!!

Wow, you did a fantastic job! I am so impressed with all of the hand appliques. I've only done simple Mickey heads in one color, someday hopefully I'll get brave and do some of the advanced ones like you guys! Beautiful outfit!

I think it took me a whole week, but I didn't work on it everyday. Did notlove this pattern. It is a McCalls pattern and they seem to leave out important details. I don't love the way parts of it came together, but you can't see that in the pics.:thumbsup2

Sara bEth took off her glasses to get dresses and we always forget to put them back on for the first pic. After looking at the pics with her glasses on I realized they need to be cleaned.:rolleyes1

I do love the material and I think I have enough to make me a matching top! We will see. I have a simplicity pattern for me that matches this one.

Great job! I can't wait to see you both wearing them together, that will be so cute!

I'm trying my hand at shoes...This was the first pair...I don't know if I like them...I wanted Nautical, but was distracted by all things Mickey...
I only have the ribbon in one, as the other was still drying...

sorry so many photos...I just wanted you to see all the sides...LOL:rotfl2:

The flash makes them look shiny, but they aren't in real life...
Also...please take notice of my ticker...when I first posted it..it was 6 months 3 weeks....Now it's almost to 3 months 4 weeks...yea!!! Where does the time go...egad!

Wow, these are so cute! You have to share how you did them please!

I just finished making these for the little girls that I babysit. When they tried them on their brother asked me if I would make him a zoo shirt. That really made me feel good that he wanted something too. So now I need to come up with a boy shirt with zebra print.

Here are the girls wearing their matching bandana outfits.

Cute outfits, that is so nice of you!

How cool is this? Not only did I find another Disney chat board but I found clothes as well YAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! lol

Welcome!

Tiffani, I can never find good Mickey fabric either. Our stores have NOTHING it seems and Joann's only has fleece (hello, we are in Dallas we don't need a lot of fleece). Sometimes Wal-Mart has good stuff though but their fabric isn't the best quality.

THanks Shannon. I'll load a few pics of past Disney sets and post them. I didn't get to do as many as I had planned last year because I was pretty busy w/orders up until we left. I know a I have a few I can share though.

I was way far behind, so I took some notes!

Leah, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's baby. That is so hard. My Quinn was born at 20 weeks. Just let her know how much you care about her, take your cues from her, if she wants to talk, let her.
It's been 12 years since Quinn was born, and I think about him and Gavin every day.

Jham- Many hugs to you.

Tinkerbelle565- Disboards is the best therapy around!

Jham- That Mickey fabric is really cute!!!

Linette! That Cinderella dress is beyond stunning!!

Jeanne- Lily looks adorable in her new dress!! I just love her curls!

Angela- I love the Chip and Dale outfits!! The pictures with the stepsisters are great!

Did I actually see UTAH MAMA posting!?? Hey WENDY we've missed you!!!!

Krista. The stripwork top turned out cute!!! The Minnie dot one too!! Did that fabric make it to you yet???

This year, I was sewing up to the day before we let, then I got such a horrible back ache, I had to stop and couldn't make a few of the outfits I'd hoped to make!
I did finish my wedding dress the day of my wedding though. (It was just a hook and eye though, nothing major!)

Callie- I dream about that Marie fabric! I'm thinking I REALLY need some of that, it is just SOOOOO cute!!!!

Amy, the Strawberry Shortcake dress is adorable!! And I love the snap idea for the flip flops!!!! How clever!

Minnie2, Your son's shorts look great, and he is a real cutie!!!

Leslie, the Snow White outfit is wonderful!! Great job! I love the fabrics you used for the skirt!

Flitter- I made Minnie dresses out of CarlaC's peasant dress pattern. LIke Steph said, it's the dots that make it Minnie!

Cathy, your pictures from Sesame Place are great!!! The girls look so cute!!!

Sara Beth looks adorable in her Pooh outfit!!!

Hey, I'm afraid to get too excited about this, but I have a plan in the works! I'm trying to talk my mom into going to Disney with me the first week of February!!! I have 4 free airplane tickets (skymiles) and Henry doesn't want to go anywhere. So, I'm hoping Mom, Sawyer, Tessa, and I can take a little 5 night trip!!
I think you should just give those plane tickets to your favorite sister! I mean REALLY! who is going to watch Grandma, and Dad?????
:confused3
Gramdma is blind, don't yah know??? Really, I saw the letter she wrote to the institue for the blind on her table the other day.....:rolleyes1
CUTE!

Everyone I know that has 3 kids says #3 was their easiest
Apparently, you don't know my mother!!!! :rotfl2: I would dare say, she would disagree!!!! :duck:

Unfortunately, I would have to disagree myself. As sweet as Lyddy is, she was DEFINETELY not my easiest!

I have actually heard more people *cough*my Mom*cough* say that the MIDDLE child is by FAR the easiest and most well behaved. :cutie:
:duck:
Stop throwing things at me Heather!
HOORAY HEATHER, now tell your sister to shake a tail feather wouldja???
AHEM!!! I have had this installment, ant most of the next, as well as the last two written for weeks!
I was waiting for her!
:snooty:

And, just for that, I am NOT going to tell you that I just updated my trip report! So, when I post that in a minute, YOU Tifani are not to read it!

Of course, if you don't go over there and post to it, I will be very sad. :(
I'm trying my hand at shoes...This was the first pair...I don't know if I like them...I wanted Nautical, but was distracted by all things Mickey...

Elisa, I think they are adorable!!!

Here is what I have been doing the last couple days:

I found the material for this daisy kingdom pattern at walmart and finally got up the courage to try it. The piping took 2 trys, but i finally got it. The instructions skipped steps (go figure)!:confused3

th_DSCF0019.jpg

I did this one with some of the sale fabric from hancock. It is a Mccalls pattern. I still think that CarlaC's pattern is better, but I have done lots of it so i am trying to branch out.

th_DSCF0022.jpg

These are very very cute!!! I love the beach fabric!!! The dresses look great!
As far as branching out from CarlaC's pattern is concerned, I would just prune back, and stick with a good easy thing like her patterns! :thumbsup2

I just finished making these for the little girls that I babysit. When they tried them on their brother asked me if I would make him a zoo shirt. That really made me feel good that he wanted something too. So now I need to come up with a boy shirt with zebra print.

Too cute Crystal!!! Have you thought about making their brother a shirt with the bowling shirt pattern? I think that would be adorable with the zebra print for the stripes!

How cool is this? Not only did I find another Disney chat board but I found clothes as well YAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! lol

:welcome:!!!!!! We are so glad you found us!!!! You need 10 posts to post pictures and PM and all that fun stuff! So post away! (you can post on my Trip report to help you out! link in my signature! ;) )

OH MY GOODNESS....THIS THREAD IS DEFINITELY LIKE THE ENERGIZER BUNNY...KEEPS GOING AND GOING AND GOING!!!!

I LOVE all the new stuff, everyone's work just amazes me!!! I hope to have my BIG GIVE outfit posted by this weekend....yippeeee!!!

OOOHH!!! Your Big Give outfit is almost done!!! That means you will be doing the white petti outfit soon!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Castles -OOOOOOH Wow I love those shoes - they are fantastic :) and oh so fun :)

Teresa - off to read it now :) (9pm Friday here not quite bedtime hehe)

Love those shoes! Did you use rub ons? That is what I would do. But how to keep them on if the shoes get wet? I may have to experiemnt!

The Daisy dress came out great. I have that pattern but am in no rush to try it. I am going to work on a CarlaC sweet dress and then maybe the stripwork dress. Then, finally, a simplicity pattern or two!

The pooh material came from Hobby Lobby. It is really thin and has little stitiching in it. I came up anout 1/2 yard short for my shirt and I am not sure if they have anymore left.:worried:

Enabler Alert

Was at work last night till 1 am (remember I work at Disney Store) and we are starting a HUGE summer sale today. I marked done tons of toys and clothes. We are clearing out for the back to school stuff and costumes! I have to go back to work at 9 this am to finish! It is crazy! There are very very few things not on sale.....

Hello everyone! :wave2: I am a BIG fan of this thread even tho I am only a wannabe sewer! I have a great machine and some day I'd like to learn to use it. (I am also a scrapbooker so that sucks up most of my spare time and creative ability) ANYHOW...I come looking for help from all you talented folks :worship: My ds13 is an avid drawer and has created several characters that he would like me to (try to) make into cloth dolls. Is there a pattern somewhere? It would just be very basic...almost like a stick figure...and then he would like me to make clothes and such. I am willing to give it a try.

TIA!

Jill

:sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: Our Disney store just CLOSED this weekend. I am so sad. The closest one now is over an hour away, not really a drive I need to make with gas over $4 per gallon. :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

WOW!!:worship: :worship:
I am amazed!! I just started sewing in Feb of this year, so I had better hurry if I want to catch up!! When I get back from Disneyland next week, I will start to learn to do the appliques. Do you have a serger? I am excited - my daughter was wearing one of my creations in Wal-Mart. Someone stopped me and asked where I got it. When I told her I made it - she wanted one!! She just about begged me to make a couple for her daughters. So I just made two pillowcase dresses (lined) that I sold!! I have two more dresses that have been ordered! I had no intentions of selling my dresses, but she really wanted some. The two I made yesterday turned out really good. I forgot to get pictures.

Here is what I have been doing the last couple days:

I found the material for this daisy kingdom pattern at walmart and finally got up the courage to try it. The piping took 2 trys, but i finally got it. The instructions skipped steps (go figure)!:confused3

Looks GREAT! I got that Mickey Fabric yesterday for my son! He LOVES Mickey. My goal is to make a bowling shirt with it. I also got 2 patterns from Butterick and when I was reading them last night OMG they are so confusing! I actually called my mom and said is it bad if I just sew it together how I think it should go since the dress pattern I got for my niece is very close to the AG doll dresses I have made for my DD* and the dress I just made for her. I guess I needed mom's permission at 37 not to fallow the rules!:rotfl2: Sad I know. Any way she went on to tell me how much she dislikes Buttrrick patterns and that when she used to sew Simplicity was the way to go but NEVER try Vogue patterns they were insane :scared1:

I just finished making these for the little girls that I babysit. When they tried them on their brother asked me if I would make him a zoo shirt. That really made me feel good that he wanted something too. So now I need to come up with a boy shirt with zebra print.

Very nice! That is so sweet that the little boy wants something too. :yay:

I am itching to start my nieces dress but my cousin needs to get me her measurements! UGH!

I can't get over how addictive ths thread is and how much I am addicted to making stuff now! I love being creative since I scrap book and make Jewelry too but I am LOVING sewing! I am even finding myself planning things now for our Disney trip! Not sure if I will ever get to them but I want to make my DD and my niece matching outfits or at least minnie skirts. Then my son and my nephew matching shorts. Now I am debating making my best friends 3 boys something that match too! I guess it is a good thing I am not going until November! :lmao:

THanks Shannon. I'll load a few pics of past Disney sets and post them. I didn't get to do as many as I had planned last year because I was pretty busy w/orders up until we left. I know a I have a few I can share though.

You don't have to post pics of only Disney customs! I love to see anything that people have made. It's ALL inspiring. Just so you know...

Love those shoes! Did you use rub ons? That is what I would do. But how to keep them on if the shoes get wet? I may have to experiemnt!

WOO HOO! I'm headed to a Disney Store tomorrow. Now I'm psyched!

Heather and Teresa...finished the trip reports to this point...Keep them coming! :rotfl: I hope you filed a complaint with Disney about your BBB/photograpy experience :furious:

HeatherSeu
I just read you tutorial on applique and it was great! I am certainly not skilled enough to try it yet ut i feel like I could actually work up to that one day! At least for now I feel like I know a little secret!
Thank you so much for complimenting my tutorial! Please try a little something! If you have some fabric with a picture that your son likes, you could just cut out a square of it and put it on a t-shirt to start with!

Here are the Car shorts i made my son yesterday. They look like pj's but he likes them. They have Luigi his fav on them
th_IMG_4494.jpg
Those are so cute and don't look like PJs at all! I have an aversion to people calling hand-sewn thing pjs, as seen in my trip report.

My car has been having a hard time shifting the last two days and this morning I had to have it towed to the shop. $440!! I need the master clutch and master cylinder replaced. And since it's in the shop we're getting the muffler that's been missing for a month replaced. So, Heather....I hope you're happy! DH has officially proposed canceling my Birthday trip to WDW. GRRR.
Honestly, I didn't mess up your car, I promise!! Just remember, the money you are putting into your car in the last few months is still probably less than a car payment and expensive insurance on a new car!!

Wow Leslie! That is fantastic!!!!! I LOOOVE it!! I especially like that you made jeans so she can wear it in the chilly weather we've been having the last few days!

I recognize that plastic tree trunk! I believe I've been to that mall!

Oh my gosh, what fun!! The kids all look absolutely adorable!!! Did you ever tell your DD I said she runs fast, like lightning?

My kids watched your slide show for a good 10 minutes yesterday. Sawyer was so excited to see the character pictures. Thanks to you I have fingerprints all over my screen!

Oh my, that is SOO cute! You have such a gorgeous little girl, too! I can't wait to see your matching top.

I just bought some matching t-shirts for me and Tessa and for me and Sawyer on disneyshopping.com this week. They were only $3.99/each!

Yay...some good reading for tonight!!! Hey does anyone else's DisBoards look weird tonight...I might restart my computer. The screen is gigantic so i have to keep rolling over to read anything...and you can see all the pixels in the smilies??? Is it my computer????
Aw thanks!!! I really appreciate my readers!

It must be your computer!

HOORAY HEATHER, now tell your sister to shake a tail feather wouldja???
I updated just for you, t!

SOOOO cute!! Hey, Elisa, when are you going to update the names of your pictures, anyway? You know, Christmas 2007 was quite a while ago. ;)

I am excited - my daughter was wearing one of my creations in Wal-Mart. Someone stopped me and asked where I got it. When I told her I made it - she wanted one!! She just about begged me to make a couple for her daughters.
I am so jealous! Something like this has NEVER happened to me! I take my kids to the fabric store where I bought the fabric, wearing outfits that I made and don't get a single comment! You must be good!

These are adorable! I saw these fabrics at my walmart yesterday. Now I'm wishing I would have bought some!

WOW!!! Your dresses look great! I love that mickey fabric...WHY OH WHY when I need Mickey fabric is there not only NONE on sale but NONE anywhere??? Jeesh!

...t.
:charac2:
:duck:

Those turned out really cute! I like Teresa's idea of making a bowling shirt for their brother to match! I think a black shirt with the stripes of black zebra fabric in front would be really cute!

Hi! I agree with you on the Daisy Kingdom pattern. I must have read and reread the part about the piping 4234234 times and stared at the picture for an hour before I could actually do it. The bad thing was I did this right after making a Carla C pattern and it was so hard. The people writing the instructions for these pattern must get money taken out of their paycheck for each word they write. Yeesh,....would it kill them to explain something??? In any case, your dresses came out perfect...I really love the fabric. I couldnt find any at our walmart or joann's so I ended up doing a pooh bear and friends with rainbow fabric....
UGH! I'm working on a commercial pattern right now and it's awful! I agree, they must have to pay for each word or something!

How cool is this? Not only did I find another Disney chat board but I found clothes as well YAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! lol
:welcome: Thanks for reading my trip report, too!!

THanks Shannon. I'll load a few pics of past Disney sets and post them. I didn't get to do as many as I had planned last year because I was pretty busy w/orders up until we left. I know a I have a few I can share though.
Just make sure you don't post any pictures if you don't want your designs to be copied!

ATTENTION ATTENTION !!!!!!!My TRIP REPORT HAS NOW BEEN UPDATED!!!!!

Now, pretty please could someone go read it and make me feel special? :flower:http://disboards.com/showthread.php?p=25215249#post25215249
:rotfl2: It does make you feel special when people comment on your TR, doesn't it? I never realized how time consuming it would be to write a TR! I spent 3 hours yesterday on my last installment, and I already had most of it written!

Today's to do list!

1. Go to Disney Store.

That's it. Very important - I can't forget that one!!
I am SO jealous! :snooty:

:welcome: Jill! We've converted a lot of scrapbookers over here!

I'm not 100% sure, but there may be some patterns in the bookmarks (in my siggy). There is a search feature, so you can try searching for doll or something.

:sad1: Our Disney store just CLOSED this weekend. I am so sad. The closest one now is over an hour away, not really a drive I need to make with gas over $4 per gallon. :sad1:
 I think we should start a "Disney Store-less" support group. I feel your pain! They closed our Disney store right after Tessa was born. :sad2:

Looks GREAT! I got that Mickey Fabric yesterday for my son! He LOVES Mickey. My goal is to make a bowling shirt with it. I also got 2 patterns from Butterick and when I was reading them last night OMG they are so confusing! Believe me, it doesn't matter what brand it is, they are all equally confusing, depending on the pattern. I used a Simplicity pattern to make Sawyer a v-neck pajama top a while back. There were absolutely NO instructions on how to attach the neck band. Nothing! It was rediculous! I never finished it because I couldn't figure out how to do it on my own. You'd think they'd want to make it easier so more people would sew and more people would buy patterns. :confused3
