Hi All,

Just out of interest has anyone tried posting a parcel from WDW back to the UK as i'm going to try and buy one of the micky dinner services and obviously dont want to carry china back on the plane, and thought i could just Fedex (or something) it back to the UK.

Has anyone done this at all???

We did this a couple of years ago with one of the big statues. Just took it to the post office and Fedex it home with not trouble.
Be prepared for it to cost as much to post it as it will cost you to buy the dinner service, if not slightly more and then you may have to pay tax on it when it arrives. Lucky for us that we didn' t have to pay any tax.

Same here we mailed a Minnie Christmas tree topper (don't ask............) last year. The topper cost $35 and the postage $30. This was under the taxable amount so we got it all ok.

Disney can actually mail it for you. It can be quite expensive though for international shipping. But then if the items are heavy it can work in your favour... The system works on how much you spend. So for example... up to $25 is one price and then $100-$150 is a different amount... and so on.

The plus is though if the item is shipped out of state you will not pay tax on the item. No harm in asking them how much it would cost to mail!

And if shipped by Disney the items will be covered by their policy... so any damages and they will be responsible.

Any merchandise location has the ability to ship home so wherever you purchase you can ask :-)

You have a few options: Disney offer a shipping service BUT it is fairly expensive as they use a courier (Fedex) and you may have a customs bill along with the parcel. The upside is they will replace it for you no bother if the parcel becomes lost or damaged. Another option is to go to a post office and post it via USPS (US postal service, their Royal mail basically) which should be cheaper but still may incur a customs bill, particularly if an insured shipping method is used. Putting a lower value on the customs bill may well avoid this but it does mean if the parcel becomes lost or damaged you'd only get that value back. I've posted back clothes and plastic toys uninsured via USPS but i'm not sure I would for something breakable like china, bit risky.
