package/hotel/ticket question

Hi!
So after doing 5 trips to WDW in 4 years we are hoping to go to DL. Am trying to figure out where to get tix. There is a room dis count now for DL hotels and a ticket discount also (also available at disneyland.com). When i try to buy them as a package it looks like ( i think) I am paying full price on the tix. So my question is if i buy these tix online separately---are these somethign they can then add to my room key like at wdw? (I have always just gotten packages at wdw at my last visit to DL we stayed at a good neighbor hotel and I think i remember having separate tix even though i bought them all together. That was a while ago ! HELP!

It is almost always cheaper to book the hotel room separately and then order your tickets online. If you book a package through Disney, you will get a few perks, like entry vouchers for Toontown Morning Madness and priority seating for some of the shows, such as Aladdin, but it's not unusual to see the price difference for a family be in the hundreds of dollars! If those perks aren't worth the price hike to you, then just book separately.

As far as adding them to your room key, you'll have to have a separate park ticket. You can, however, charge things back to your room with your key if you stay on-site.

Even with a package, you can't add your tickets to your room key in DLR.
