OP...sorry you must not have known the 'storm' your question would set off here...(rule breaking police)

Not landing on one side or another but.... I like breakfast in the room, wherever I travel. I also don't eat much breakfast food, I bring along Kind bars, mini travel packs of hummus, and bagged baby carrots, and make use of the fridge provided. My DH likes cereal, so we bring that plus a bowl and spoon, and buy milk as needed. There are lots of little travel foods that are easily packed for a quick breakfast till you get something bigger later in the day.(Skippy peanut butter mini size, and pretzel sticks) an apple, etc.
I have a plug in water kettle also that I have brought to various *different* places around the country while traveling, works like a coffeepot, except it heats just water, and can be used for tea, etc.Again, I would assume a toaster, etc might have the ability to burn, make smells, due to it actually being a cooking element,so that might be an issue-
I am assuming housekeeping checks the rooms as they clean them for any appliances that are forgotten and left on, like a curling or straightening iron (now that item gets hot and could def. cause a fire if left in the wrong place too long)

One time at Disney my DS brought some fries and a burger back to the room, pulled it out of the fridge later, and used the hairdryer to 'warm' it up before eating!
