P.O.T.C. On Stranger Rides! The Missing Chapter,,Final Thoughts,, Preview Thoughts.

Ponzie, you are very very talented; we just have to make sure you use your talents for good and not evil.

Buzz, I have a Dee Dee, too - my daughter, but it's short for Deanna. She actually doesn't like to be called Dee Dee any more, so I've shortened it to Deeds. I don't know that she likes that any better, but she hasn't said, so...

Nebo, now that the TR is finished and it won't interrupt the smooth flow of information and sarcasm in your chapters, I was wondering something.
Have you seen that commercial for Snickers - peanut butter Snickers, to be exact - in which researchers are interviewing 2 sharks who have just eaten Steve, and he was delicious because he had just eaten peanut butter Snickers? I love that commercial - makes me laugh every time (just guess what my ex-husband's name is!)
But I was wondering if you get a cold shiver down your spine when you see that. My advice is never eat a peanut butter Snickers, so that if you happen to be eaten by sharks, at least they won't enjoy it.

Ponzi, that is fantastic,,,, if it wouldn't be so preumptious?, that would make a great avatar!

:lmao:That's pretty frightening, how easily everything I say can be checked out. But how great it would be if you could go through life and every time you say something or try to tell somebody something, there's somebody right there to check it out and back it up.

I want to go to Disneyland too! I want to go when they decorate IASW for the holidays and dress HM with a Jack Skellington theme. Heck, I really just want to go anytime I can get there.

Yep, I mentioned I had to give up my name before August. So, the interesting thing about the name is that it is not a nickname for me, it's actually my real, on the birth certificate name. I remember in kindergarten everyone wanted to spell and have my name, hey it's mastery of only two letters D and e. I consider myself lucky in the naming department with my parents. My younger sister has the same name as a beloved Irish setter they had when they married. Talk about easy to tease, yeesh! ;)

they named your sister Big Red?

Nebo, I can't imagine who in the world would cast you of all people as a wisecracking alcoholic! I mean really! ;)

So we are staying at the WL in August. I booked with a 35% bounce back in December, but having just cancelled my quickie trip to WDW due to the evil strep throat pox, I'm going to give you one guess as to what I have already done. Insert Jeopardy theme here. Yep, I added a few days to the front end of the August trip. The bounce back won't cover the added dates, but I am hoping there will be an AP room only rate at some point. We will be in the World from August 1st - August 11th. :yay: I'm crossing my fingers that the Brazilian tour groups will be gone, but I'm willing to risk it for a few extra days.

yeah, you're right on the edge of the 'zillions. But they won't be a problem at WL.

You guys are at Pop, right?

What concerts are you planning to catch on your April/May trip?

Oh yeah, when you get a chance, I PMed you and Smidgy. Will you check to make sure you got it?

Affirmative on Pop, concert talk coming up soon,, pm coming soon also.

Helo Nebo I have been a lurker for many a year on the dis reports sight. Reading all of your reports through the last few years. You have finaly suceeded in getting myself to register with the dis I had to do this just to stop the guilt of enjoying your trip reports and never telling your self or smidgly As you can proably tell I spell things the english way which is slightly diferant to the spelling in the states Its not wrong just differant. My condolaces for both your loss.

2004 C b. 2006 WL, 2008,WL, 2010, WL Oct 2012 wl

H Mac, really great to meet you, and boy, you aren't kidding, you are all the way up to a total of ONE post now! Scotland,,,, boy, that's another place I'd love to visit.

No I havent' even heard of them, I'll keep an eye out for them.

WOW, I just glanced out the window and suddenly it's all white out!

It went by fast, didn't it?

Really, it was the beginning of October when I was telling you about Smidgy having to put her ear next to the tire valve to let me know if it's still "hissing". That was almost 5 months ago!

I can't believe it's been that many months. It doesn't seem like its been that long at all. Time flies when your having fun.

I'm sure you can also believe that I changed my mind about ten times on whether or not to even do a report, with Diane's daddy passing away, the whole idea seemed insensitive to me.
But it gave us then a chance or opportunity to talk about him as well.
And of course, their were just too many strange and odd things that happened that ,,even though they made for a crappy trip, when it came to writing about them they were
Trip Report Gold!

I for one am honored that you shared the story of Granddaddy with us, and am thankful that you decided to do the TR. It's gotten me through some tough times these past few months for sure.

So, in summary, NO money back for the converter, No cheap way to fix the tire, once again I had that carrot dangled in front of my face only to be whisked away again.

Concerning where we stayed, which did I like better?
Animal Kingdom Lodge or Bay Lake Towers, my choice would definately be,,,

The Caribbean Beach Resort.
That's right, even if the prices were equal, I'd rather stay there than the other two.

Since we have yet to stay on site...I'll take your word for it. One of these days I do hope to stay on site just to say that I have and see what the fuss is all about.

Honestly, for me? I'd rather be overlooking the Boardwalk watching people walk by and do the things people are known to do: laugh, trip, fall down, argue, fight, throw up, all that to me is much more entertaining.

I have to agree...that is definitely more entertaining...however, I can watch that happen anywhere here where I live. I guess, even watching things that you can see back home have a different feel to them when your somewhere like Disney though.

One thing I sure hope you all realize,
is just how appreciative I am, and have been, on all of your help and contributions to this thread. I really
considered it to be a joing effort on all our parts, and that's
what made it a success in the long run.

If it wasn't for you and the hard work you and smidgy put into these TR's, all our comments wouldn't mean much at all.

But boy, am I going to miss this too, that smiley Thump's wife just posted is me to a tee, I just get such a thrill, yes, thrill,
when I come up with a dumb line or joke, or a pun bad enough that I just know Ponzi is gonna cringe for sure.

I chose that specific smiley because that's what I see in my head when you talk about writing a chapter. Not that i think about you or what you are doing all the time...I mean I'm not a stalker or anything...I...Oh...I'm just gonna...carry on...

This all brings us now to that famous phrase, "Ok, now what, what else is on?"
Like when the movie is over but you're not quite ready to go to bed.

This reminds me of the movie, The Truman Show, where at the end, everyone sort of stares at the TV for a moment, not knowing what to make of the end of this show they have been following for years and years and then they just sort of snap out of it and start reaching for the TV Guide to find out what else is on.

Although, the real question is...Is there life after a nebo report?

All righty now, we'll stay right here a tad longer and talk about April/May, then maybe just do a shorty and I'll tell you about the highlights of the trip.

That's a good thing. I'd hate for you to have a cast of picketers outside your door later. Cause you know we won't be going willingly.

But there really won't be time before it would run into the August trip, and as we have said many a time, THAT is the one that we are most excited about, finally going with our grandson,,,, and son and his wife, that we have been wanting to do for what seems like ever!

For-E-VER...http://youtu.be/H-Q7b-vHY3Q (This is one of the few times I've posted a link here so I really do hope that works!)

Ok...its out of my system...Anywho...I am so excited to hear about your trip with Jackson. I know you and Smidgy have been waiting for this trip for a long time, and I can only imagine the fun and excitement that will be had as you experience Disney for the first time through his eyes.

This may sound maudling, but I don't care:
We never know when someone's last day will be, so love
them with all you've got, and let them know it. Even if you're not the
demonstrative type, tell them anyway. They may be embarrassed, or you may be, at the time, but when they are laying in bed that night they just might remember,,,
and smile.

Maudling? Not even close. I agree with you 100%. You never really know what can happen from day to day. The feeling of knowing you could have talked to them the day before or hugged them or told them you loved them prior to, Those coulda, shoulda, woulda's are not pleasant. So please make sure to tell them. You can never tell your loved ones you love them too many times.

Oh my...That kid is going to be a Heartbreaker when he gets older. He's precious!

And, of course, Jackson with his great grand-daddy.

407905_350205491658068_100000058613144_1404488_1594256718_n.jpg

That is the sweetest picture. Thank you so much for sharing that with us.

but do me a favor tonight, say a prayer, and mention Diane's dad in it, or better yet, refer to him as Granddaddy, we did miss the funeral, and this talking about him has helped.
And please, don't forget to tell him where you got it!

I keep you and Smidgy and your family in my prayers always.

Ok, I know I'm tired Lady H, but I'm not sure what you did or how, but now I"m all misty,,

Yes! It's going to be a Great year!

/
And, of course, Jackson with his great grand-daddy.

for some reason, I couldn't copy the picture. anyway ... this was THE picture I was talking about. my sweet loving daddy. who I rarely heard say anything bad about anyone. who didn't swear or use racial slurs. always gave me the best advice. was patient, kind, loving, an honest Christian man.

and Jackson, so handsome and smart, kind, well behaved. and I can't wait to show my favorite place to!!!

since my daddy totally trusted Jesus Christ's complete work on the cross as payment for his sins, I know my daddy is in heaven right now. and I know I will see him when my time comes.

but for NOW!!! I cant' wait for this may trip with my hubby, me sweetheart, and I cant' wait until august to see the look in Jacksons eyes!!! and see those dimples when he smiles!

and I look forward to a trip in the future with our first little princess, kaylee, and the young prince mason, who will turn 1 in march!! we are truly blessed.

you guys know more about us than a lot of our every day friends/acquaintences.. you are our very dear friends.. kiss hug... love you all..

I won't lie...I got a little teary eyed there for a moment. It's obvious in the words you write and the way you express yourself regarding your father that you and Nebo held him in the highest regard. From what you have told us, he seems like an amazing man, and I have to say that he raised one heck of a woman! Thank you so much for sharing a little of him with us.

I think I look forward, not just to another TR from you and Nebo, but to hopefully share in the experience you both will have when you take Jackson to all your favorite places and get to see his reaction to all the stuff that you love about The Happiest Place On Earth.

I did the grocery store thing once, and believe me, it got ugly! But thank you, glad you enjoyed it.

Don't tell me you mixed the produce in with the meats again? Or did you stick the eggs at the bottom of the bag?

Thumper? I guess I kind of overdid it talking about Dad, I just wanted to finally use the last chance of saying how special he was while the subject was still appropo. And I'm sure there is still the matter of missing the funeral that makes me want to do , or say, something.

I'm with Mr. T...I don't think its possible to over talk about Granddaddy. Just glad you were comfortable enough to share him a little with us.

You and your wife have been terrific helping me out on this thread, and I can't thank you enough.

You're welcome. :cutie: But really, Thank you for opening your door and letting us in.

Thumperman,,, that is great stuff,,, I can almost hear it!

Now, here's the thing:
Your wife is not only intelligent, but also clever and sarcastic.
Ok, you said you don't want to do a report yourself, but I truly think Lady H is up for the task.
And,,,, I really, REALLY want to read a trip report from DisenyWorld Veterans now doing a report from DisneyLand!
Both of us are dying to go there to compare, and I cannot believe there aren't reports doing exactly what I just mentioned!

So if you are going in August, it would work out great if you can tell us anything about it, we hope to go in August or September of '13.

What do you say Lady H? Sound good?
You could fulfill my feeble fantasy about learning more about Disneyland, and you just know that Ponzi and I will not leave you,,, um,,, neglected?

Who me?

If by fulfilling your feeble fantasy is to have me write a TR with with random days or times missing then sure, by all means, I'd be happy to...Let me explain:

Our very first trip to WDW, We went with DSIL during a Fraternal Order of Eagles International Convention. Now I do remember going to this convention for a while. What happened after we left the convention gets a little fuzzy. According to both Mr. T and DSIL we took a taxi cab...Which I remember none of, and we also took a shuttle, which I remember none of. See a pattern here? For the majority of this trip, I don't think I got to the point of being completely and utterly plastered to the point of not remembering things. I remember the oddest things from that trip, but for the life of me, I cannot remember a cab or shuttle. To this day, Mr. T and DSIL make fun of me for not remembering a thing that night. I still say they are making it all up just to watch me squirm.

If I do a TR for DL, which I am contemplating, I would have to take serious notes just to make sure that I remember what I did, and when, Otherwise I would have to rely on Mr. T to fill in the gaps. Which I may still have to do anyway.

funny.gif

OK...The sugar high from the Girl Scout Cookies is wearing off and the pinched nerve in my neck/shoulder is beginning to make my eye twitch, which can mean only one thing. It's time for bed!

Ok, I know I'm tired Lady H, but I'm not sure what you did or how, but now I"m all misty,,

Yes! It's going to be a Great year!

Are you sure your not...Verklempt? :lmao:

Seriously though. I didn't mean to make you misty, I only type the truth. The magic of Disney may have brought us all together. But its been your magic that has kept us here. pixiedust:

WOW, i'm still back on page 144 with your horrendous ride home. Glad you made it OK, but how scary! I absolutetly hate people riding my bumper, do they have a death wish? Unfortunatly, it's 12:45 and I'm drooping, so I will catch up latet tomorrow.

Dang, the Dis ate my post yet again. Im still back on page 144 when you finished your ride home. I absolutely hate bumper riders. It's very late, so I will have to catch up later. Glad you made it home safely (obviously), but a horrendes/horrendous/ bad trip home.

Oh my, Pkondz, you sir really outdid yourself!! :thumbsup2

"Nebo tames the Beast" is GREAT!!

Sandy Mouse, I like Deeds. It's a neat shortened abbreviation. It's got flair and originality! ;) I always get the "What's your real name" bit.

Nebo, you are so close with your Big Red guess. My sister's name is Ginger. My parents had Ginger as a pet in 1973 and a few years later found they liked the name so much, they used it for their 2nd daughter's name. I was named for my mom's nickname.

Yep, we might actually run into the zillion Brazilians if we go into the parks the first two days or so. I really need an AP discount to cover the added dates so we'll see if they stick. If there are no discounts, which usually there are and they appear around May, we may do a split stay and do value or moderate for a less indigestive price. The downside to the values would be the possibility of remnant tour groups. :sad2:

And now, I agree with Marita, my eyes are drooping. Night-night!

Getting to read you and Ponzi duke it out has brought real joy to a tough time in my life. Thanks!

Hey! Wait a sec. First I get crowned King of the Smileys and suddenly I'm just a Duke? I've been deposed!

And, of course, Jackson with his great grand-daddy.

this was THE picture I was talking about. my sweet loving daddy. who I rarely heard say anything bad about anyone. who didn't swear or use racial slurs. always gave me the best advice. was patient, kind, loving, an honest Christian man.

I figured that was the pic you mentioned. Great shot and a wonderful memory. Your Dad (I think I said this before) sure seems like he was a wonderful man.

If I would have been 100% positive it was you, I would have said something, but I just wasn't sure and that made me nervous!

SML:"Nebo! Is that you? I love your TR!"
Nebo to Smidgy: "Who's she?"
Smidgy: "She's Snowmanlover."
Nebo: "She's no man lover? Guess I'm safe... not that there's anything wrong with that."

My DD passed away when I was on a cruise in Alaska in 2002. I was with my MIL who needed to get away after losing my FIL a few months earlier. Only difference, my Dear Mother wouldn't let anyone tell me until I got home!! They waited for me to get back to have the funeral. My DH was back home and I would talk to him and ask about my DD, but he never told me! Poor guy was a nervous wreck!!

Sorry for your loss. I don't know a) How I'd be able to not tell someone their DD passed, I'd be a nervous wreck too! or b) How I'd feel if I was on vacay and wasn't told until I got home. :scared:

make sure that you and Diane are the ones to take him on some of the really fun rides. In 25 years, when he takes his kids on those same rides, don't you want him to remember and say that his grandpa or grandma were the ones to take him on that ride his first time? They were loads of fun, his grandma and grandpa.
Let his parents take him on the lesser rides... the ones nobody remembers.

:lmao:

Hopefully I'll be at WDW. Want to come along? By then we might all need ECV's to get around. We can rent some and go driving around hitting people's ankles, honking our horns and demand we get special treatment.

Oooohh. I like that idea. :thumbsup2

Maybe 2 if we can still convince Pkondz to write a TR.

Well, I would write a TR if I was going to WDW. But I don't think this forum is for Hawaii trips. Even if we do squeeze in a quick visit over to Aulani, I don't think it would qualify. I can see it now. 50 chapters about Hawaii with a sentence at the end like, "And then we visited Aulani, it was very nice." Okay! That makes it an official Disney TR!

(Thumper_Man) Nebo & Smidgy, friends old and new.

On behalf of everyone here on Nebo’s Trip Report, we thank you for joining us for a magical gathering of family, friends, fun and fantasy. We hope that your magical journey with us has created wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. Walt Disney said that Nebo’s Trip Reports are a world of imagination, hopes and dreams. In this timeless Disboards Thread, the magic and make believe are reborn; and fairy tales come true. Nebo’s Trip Reports are a place for the young and the young at heart. A special place, where when you wish upon a star, your dreams really do come true. Until we post again, be safe at home. Thank you and Goodnight.

(Mickey) So long everybody! See ya real soon!

That would've been perfect if it had been the last post on this thread! :)

Thumperman, now I'm all verklempt at work. Thanks!:lovestruc
You're all what? ver something? I'm gonna have to Google :surfweb: that word before I comment further.
For everyone that has no idea what verklempt means I looked it up. It means "overcome with emotion"
Verklempt:
Extremely emotional. On the verge of tears.

Now that I know what it means. I'll have to remember this word for future use.

Anyways, I didn't mean to make you verklempt at work. Just saying my farewells until we post again in August.
Mike Meyer, Saturday Night Live. I don't remember the name of his character in this skit... Linda something, based on his mother-in-law. That was always funny.

I can't post a youtube link (or see them either) 'cause I'm at work. But Google Mike Myers Verklempt and you'll see what the scoop is. I remember it like it was yesterday... like buttah.

Several years ago (read 20) my mom and I were waiting around for her kiln to turn off so that we could go on a shopping trip. The Reader's Digest was open on the table so we started going through it together, one question at a time, and whoever had the answer to the next question first answered. We passed with flying colors and finished in record time. Since it took two of us to make a genius, we thought separately we must be half-wits.

I love that line. One of my favorite quotes, don't know who said it: "He considers himself a wit, he was half right."

I did the grocery store thing once, and believe me, it got ugly! But thank you, glad you enjoyed it.

Oh boy. You didn't buy shrimp, did you?

But it is funny when I start a new report with a two paragraph chapter and 30 people then post!:lmao::rotfl:
freaks out newby's!:rotfl:

:lmao:

Ponzi, we ALL greatly anticipate you doing a report, and I can't wait to play the role where I get to sit back an practice my sarcasm.

Uh oh.

Huh! Still got some old brain cells left up there after all.

Don't worry, they're all gone. That was just a reflex.

I remember a loooong time ago, Bill Cosby did a routing on VW's that was pretty funny,, "IF the fan belt breaks we use a rubber band!"

True story alert.

My beetle was great, but it did have one not so great thing about it. Whenever I drove it in the summer for more than 5 minutes, the starter would get hot (from the engine, it wasn't doing anything else once the car was 'on'). When metal is heated it expands. Something in that starter would expand enough that it wouldn't work until it cooled down.

So this is a typical day in the summer:

Drive to mall or whatever.
Go inside and start worrying.
Come outside and pray.
Attempt to start car.
Curse.
Grab tools from back seat. Open trunk (it's a bug. that's where the engine is.)
Squeeze hand behind engine and remove starter motor.
Install spare second-hand starter motor that I always keep in the car. (I got pretty good at it. Could do it in about 10-15 minutes)
Start engine.
Drive to next location.
Repeat from the top.

How many car manufacturers out there today would expect you to change out a starter motor any time you wanted to go anywhere?

I guess I kind of overdid it talking about Dad, I just wanted to finally use the last chance of saying how special he was while the subject was still appropo. And I'm sure there is still the matter of missing the funeral that makes me want to do , or say, something.

Au contraire. I thought you had just the right amount of discussion. You described the effect Smidgy's Dad's passing had on you both quite admirably while not making it seem uncomfortable for the rest of us. You shared some of your memories and gave us a glimpse of a wonderful man whom I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to meet. Not a simple task. Well done.

(One summer when I was in High School I spent a week with my aunt & uncle and the band came to his house- the night they were inducted into some "hall of fame" in Chicago... and they played ALL NIGHT LONG... I literally had never been up that late in my life.. probably went to bed around 5 a.m. and then they woke me up and took me to a pancake breakfast around 8 a.m.... and then ended up singing to me and the waitress thru most of breakfast. It was the COOLEST thing EVER :hippie:!

That is truly an amazing memory/story. Thanks for sharing that. :goodvibes

oh, me too...
Tawwllk amungst youselves, I'll give you a topic. Puppies vs kittens - do you declaw to even the odds? Go

The very first thing I thought of was "Ninja Kitty", but McDisney beat me to it. And with a great pic to boot!

You could fulfill my feeble fantasy about learning more about Disneyland, and you just know that Ponzi and I will not leave you,,, um,,, neglected?

::yes::

I'm a bit of a Nebo TR junkie, but I do appear to have a bit of company in these here parts! ;)

Oh, there seems to be one or two. :rolleyes1

Thanks y'all! Nebo & Smidgy, it's always terrific fun reading your trip reports. And loads of  with all the comments from the peanut gallery.

Found a peanut.
Found a peanut.
Found a peeeeeaaaanut laaaaaassssst night!
Last night I found a peanut.
Found a peanut,
Last night.

You sir are the master of Photoshop. :thumbsup2
Ponzie, you are very very talented; we just have to make sure you use your talents for good and not evil.
Ponzi, that is fantastic,,,, if it wouldn't be so preumptious?, that would make a great avatar!
Oh my, Pkondz, you sir really outdid yourself!! :thumbsup2

"Nebo tames the Beast" is GREAT!!

Thanks folks! :goodvibes

Nebo, as far as avatar. Don't you really mean that when compared to you it's actually (if anything) understated?

This reminds me of the movie, The Truman Show, where at the end, everyone sort of stares at the TV for a moment, not knowing what to make of the end of this show they have been following for years and years and then they just sort of snap out of it and start reaching for the TV Guide to find out what else is on.

Love that movie. Showed it to the kids just last month or so.

Unfortunatly, it's 12:45 and I'm drooping, so I will catch up latet tomorrow.

I hate it when I'm drooping too.

:rolleyes1

You read the first report? Isn't that funny?
That trip started at Universal for 4 days, although admittedly I left most of that part our because I wasn't sure about the rules and if I could post much about Universal or not. But then it went to 3 days at FQ, then 4 days at WL, then 3 more days at Pop Century.
We saw 3 different bands that trip I'm pretty sure, at Epcot, and from start to finish, I believe the entire report was all of 16 pages!
I had no idea what I was doing back then, my chapters were like Cliff Notes from a Reader's Digest Version from Twitter!
If you read them real fast you could actually go back in time!
Then there was the fact I had maybe 3 readers, with me and Smidgy making up two of them!:lmao:

"Smidgy and the Grump" ended very abruptly also, our 12 year old computer on dial up had had it by then,,, and it was always crashing in the middle of a chapter, it was all I could do to sum things up there and finish it.

Well, I'm going to look forward to it, gotta have something to get me through the rest of this winter :cold:

The Princess Half marathon -- yes, many many ladies do dress as princesses and/or wear tutus. I'm not going there, I'm just in my regular running gear. And it's a half marathon, so you only have to run 13.1 miles, I leave 26.2 to the professionals! :goodvibes 5% of the 17,000 participants are men -- so you can find some princes out there. They have a ton of characters and entertainment along the route (starts at Epcot pkg lot, through MK and then a little bit of Epcot). This year they had one station with men in tuxes with shoes, proposing. I didn't stop since I already found my prince, and after 18 years I have him broken in (err, we've "grown together") just the way I like him. :rotfl:

I will say, I have never seen so many grown women in tiaras in my life. Lots of ladies wear them all weekend. I almost feel left out without one. Almost.

Cool, I never saw it, what a strange commercial. But if they had said, Nebo, then I'd be freaked out.

Since we have yet to stay on site...I'll take your word for it. One of these days I do hope to stay on site just to say that I have and see what the fuss is all about.

It's not that the resorts are so much better, it's that even when you leave, you're still in Disney.

I have to agree...that is definitely more entertaining...however, I can watch that happen anywhere here where I live. I guess, even watching things that you can see back home have a different feel to them when your somewhere like Disney though.

probably depends on where you live,, maybe big city folks would relish just looking at trees ,,,,

I chose that specific smiley because that's what I see in my head when you talk about writing a chapter. Not that i think about you or what you are doing all the time...I mean I'm not a stalker or anything...I...Oh...I'm just gonna...carry on...

Like that smiley

This reminds me of the movie, The Truman Show, where at the end, everyone sort of stares at the TV for a moment, not knowing what to make of the end of this show they have been following for years and years and then they just sort of snap out of it and start reaching for the TV Guide to find out what else is on.

We watched that movie,, and you're right,,, that was a strange one.

For-E-VER...http://youtu.be/H-Q7b-vHY3Q (This is one of the few times I've posted a link here so I really do hope that works!)

Oh, it worked allright,,, what in the heck is that?

Ok...its out of my system...Anywho...I am so excited to hear about your trip with Jackson. I know you and Smidgy have been waiting for this trip for a long time, and I can only imagine the fun and excitement that will be had as you experience Disney for the first time through his eyes.

Yeah, we can't wait. He has spent a little time at MK one day a few years ago,,,,now he get's to do it the right way.

That is the sweetest picture. Thank you so much for sharing that with us.

I keep you and Smidgy and your family in my prayers always.

Thank you Lady H.

::yes::

Looks like you just wrote a book there, mister. Guess that makes you an author... an unpaid author, but an author.

Yeah, but like I said, at least here my books don't go out of print!

People say that it's always best to talk about things and not keep them inside. I suspect that this TR may have been a little bit cathartic for you both, too. Hope so, anyway.

I have not doubt about that.

Am I the first to call you that? If I am, stick a © on it.

Sorry, "UtahMama" used "neebs" a lot in Guess who's coming to free Dinner.

Did you ever get a good explanation for the valve stem issue?

Forgot about that. Yeah, I talked to him and he wanted to know what kind it was. ???? So he came out and looked at the tires, said sorry, this is a first time thing, and he'll make a note of it.

I'm really surprised! I guess you just assume that a deluxe would be so much better then a mod. But I do agree with you that the exterior corridors, while sounding 'cheaper' is actually better, given the climate. I love the idea of stepping out of my room and I'm immediately outside. Maybe that makes it feel more like a home than the apartment style deluxes?

"You MAY be RIGHT!",,, sorry, Billy popped in my head,,, but you could be,,,I never liked apartment type halls either.

That's just weird... Or
The bulk of Disney guests will generally stay at Values or Mods resulting in those resorts being filled. The deluxes, without the DVC and few people who can afford them, sit empty. It's a theory.
It was kind of explained to me once,, but I don't think that was it, had more to do with where the source of the DVC money originates from,,,cuz they then have to pay DIsney.

Oh, look! Thumper and Backstage Gal and Buzz and... okay, everybody are gathering outside my door armed with torches and pickforks. I wonder if we're all going for a picnic?

and yout get to be the marshmallows!

who who, who who?
I woke up in a Disney doorway
A CM knew my name
He said, "You can go and ride Big Thunder
If you can get a fastpass today"

sorry, ya lost me in this one,,, Ponzi Hears a WHO?

So I decided to go this way instead.

"I love you man."
"No, man. I love you, man."
"No, you don't understand. I love you man."
"No, wait. I do, I really, love you man. Really."
"Yeah, me too. Except, you know what?
"What, man?"
"I love you man."

Keep repeating until one or both fall down.

Sounds like another Dr. Seuss short story,, the two guys who refuse to step aside and let the other one pass,,,,,,

Very nice pics. And yes, there certainly is a resemblance to Smidgy there, as was already mentioned.

Action Jackson takes on the World and rescues two old coots.

Consider it done. :goodvibes

Thanks a lot Ponzi,, you have made this endeavor a lot more fun and have added incredible pics and laughs. :cool1:

Well, I am finally caught up!

It sure is weird when you post about something that happened 5 pages ago, and the rest of the gang is in the midst of paying homage to the great author :worship:

Anyway, back in present time now. I have to say, there were some great comments, I got verklemmpt myself (and I didn't have to google it). So many talented people here. Love you all.:hippie:

Now, Nebo, you know you won't be able to not write anything about your April trip, right? You'll miss your Dis family and you'll want to tell us something and it would kill you not to. So I am looking forward to the further adventures of Nebo and Smidgy in the near future.

You really are the Queen of Smileys. I don’t know where you find all of them.

For-E-VER...http://youtu.be/H-Q7b-vHY3Q (This is one of the few times I've posted a link here so I really do hope that works!)
I get it, and I’m surprised Nebo didn’t. It’s from Sandlot, a great family movie set in the late 50s or early 60s about a group of kids who play baseball all summer on a sandlot. My kids and grandkids love it.

Way back in the middle ages when I was a brand new bride, we lived in San Diego for 3 months and went to Disneyland once. Two years later we lived in Florida and starting going to WDW twice a year. (My ex was as big a Disney fan as I am.)
I remember liking Disneyland greatly, and it had more than WDW, but the Florida park was new back then and very small (more area but fewer attractions). My ex got out of the military and we moved away before EPCOT was finished. My memories of DL kind of blend into those of WDW. I do remember that there was a restaurant down underground at the end of POTC, which was cool. And it had a really cool canoeing attraction.

I don’t know what y’all are talking about with the weird stuff on VW Beetles. We had a ‘69 that we bought in ‘79 as a second car for my ex to drive to work. It had a heater and nothing weird and was totally dependable. It was canary yellow with a new interior and new paint job and mag wheels - very cute. After moving to Montana, we had to put chains on it a couple of times and they made a horrible racket hitting the inside of the wheel well because of the mag wheels.
