Tuesday afternoon, cont. (last day)
Last day, final time walking into a Park and we are not holding back!
Lock and load, armed and ready, packing heat, no holds barred, good to the last drop.
Oh well.
To be honest, we have packed in the past a lot more heat than what we have today,, mainly cuz we don't have much time left with the park closing at 7.
I finished up my plasic cup of whiskey that caused the "bleeding in the room" trouble waiting for the bus, so as we walked into the Magic Kingdom we each have a loaded Sunny D, and I have a small airplane bottle of wodka for each of us, that's it.
I have also just swallered my very last painkillers,,,it's all about tonight, tonight, (picture Natalie Wood pretending to sing in West Side Story) and I'm not letting this hand bother me at all, nope, nope nope.
But gonna be a long drive home,,,,
"Lalalala,,,,", not thinking about that!
For the last time, I stuck my finger in the finger slot, and for the last time, it pretended to not know me. The cast
memver just waved me through anyway, even they are tired of checking me out by now.
My official fingerprints on file with the FBI is officially listed listed with the name; "?? Beats the crap out of me."
They can't read them either.
Now, you might think once we were inside, it would be a time to smell the roses a bit, take it easy, soak up the atmosphere, talk to the natives,,,,,
NOT!
It turned into ultimate commando time, not really sure how it happened, it just kind of started slowly and increased as the clock ticked away.
If we had ridden Dumbo, I would have been whacking his butt to make him go faster.
Smidgy would probably tell you it happened for only one reason,
I was there.
She would probably be right.
I'm guessing it was around 3:30 by now, so not much time left till they kick us out.
At the end of Main Street we turned right into Tomorrowland, and Smidgy asked if i wanted to do Buzz Lightyear one more time.
I had not choice, I hit her.
Twice.
First in the stomach, then in the jaw with an uppercut when she doubled over.
And I walked away to Space Mountain, as per plan.
Ok, I didn't really hit her, but I gave her a look that was even worse,, "Haven't you beaten me enough on that ride this trip? " it said.
At Space Mountain, she walked me through the dark line, we still had two fastpasses for it, and at the last minute she said, "Oh, heck, I guess I'll do it afterall."
They had made changes to the ride and the queuing area so she wanted to at least be up to date on it.
Going through the fastpass line didn't give us a chance to mess around with the new "in line" games, but I did notice some lighting changes, both in the staging area and on the ride.
No, I am not a big fan of this ride,,, nothing wrong with it, except it scares the hell out of me.
I keep feeling that my car is going to tip over, that there is too much car under me, and not enough car around me, or I am going to hit my head on an overhead beam or girder, waiting to die a painfull death usually takes some of the fun out of something for me.
I feel like the big dude sitting in the little coin operated car at the mall in the insurance commercial.
She doesn't really like it either, she mostly does it just for me so I have the feeling that it may be awhile till we do this again.
On the way into Fantasyland, Stitch was nowhere in sight, we went and watched Philharmagic. After that we got a Sprite to replenish our Sunny D's and use the little bottles.
Haunted Mansion came next, followed by one more Big Thunder, and one more Splash, for one of those we still had a fastpass for, even though we really didn't need it.
As fast as we were knocking off rides, the clock was moving as well.
We had considered going over to Tom's Island,,, but there really wasn't enough time for that, we did go one last time down by our rocking chair spot on the river.
I'm sorry,,, our MAGICAL rocking chair spot by the river.
Ok, MY magical rocking chair spot by the river.
It's like this,,,,,it's been about 3 hours now since I cut my hand,,, and now it's growing a heart, it didn't hurt at the time near as much as it is now.
It's not bleeding again though, but the pain is distracting,
no, not that bad, just something I didn't want to deal with on
our last day in Disney.
And I remembered something.
There was a time once a few years ago, when I had forgotten about pills I had put in my pocket, until much later.
I looked down at the shorts I'm wearing, and I knew I've worn them a couple times on the trip, but I can't remember where, or when, but they have really deep pockets, and a lot of them.
Since I've got the regular camera around my neck and don't have the digital in my pocket, the little bottles are now gone as well as all the maps and times guides, I can finally get down in there,,,,,to feel three little oblong shaped units of love.
Tears rolled down my cheeks as I swallowed them, lint and all.
We then walked down to Jungle Cruise to see if we can catch a good skipper.
She walked, I skipped. "C'mon, this way, we're almost to the Emerald City." We had a little over an hour left, and she couldn't figure out where my new found exhuberance came from.
Our skipper was ok, another girl, doesn't seem to be too many guys running this show anymore.
Here's my favorite part of the ride,,, the snake that starts with a P,,, c'mon,,, you know,,,,,
Plastic.
While we were in the neighborhood we thought we'd try the neglected Dumbo,,,,not sure why Dumbo will be packed and The Flying Carpets are ignored.
We then used the cut through behind the carpets to get back into Frontierland,, or Liberty Square,,,
if you look way in the back, you'll see a construction crane next to the castle,,, not sure what it was doing there.
You can also see that it's starting to get crowded, as all the people coming for tonight's Very Merry Halloween Party get let in after 4 o'clock.
Walking down the main path, just looking around at stuff, we finally got all the way to the TTA, and rode that around one more time. It was quarter to 7, and I thought we could get in one more trip on the Casserole of Progresso, but we were shooed away at the door, much like Dorothy and her entourage and told to "Come back tomorrowwwww"
With that, we left and said goodbye to the Magic Kingdom.
______________________________________________
I was going to end this chapter there, but I thought one long boring chapter is better than two short boring chapters, so ,,, well, there you have it! heh
Crap, even writhing this is making me relive that last night again,,,I was ready to go and check in to another new resort.
And now I have to go through the feeling that even the trip report is about over, too. Where's that picture of Jay?
It turned out we picked a good time to leave.
Remember that morning? And watching the weather reports? Only a ten percent chance of the afternoon thunderstorms and Diane wanted to bring umbrellas?
These things moved in quickly!
It started just as the bus pulled up, with all these "Not so Scary Christmas Party" guests disembarking.
At this stage of the trip, for us, I would have preferred to see them all disembowling,,,,each other, but that's another trip report.
The rain came down in sheets, I don't know how the bus driver could see and once again reminded us of our drive to come tomorrow,,,
By the time we got to the Lodge, it was already starting to let up. Yes, the afternoon/ early evening storms are a riot,, all bark, little bite,,,,, but it's the ones that move in around 9/10 at night that can really get your attention,,,, they put Illuminations to shame.
My clothes were a little wet, so I put on what I was probably going to wear to drive in tomorrow, and threw all the rest in the suitcase, we have a big trash bag for the "Uh uh, no way am I putting this on again, this trip" clothes.
Once changed, we filled our mugs one last time,,,,and I made one last "plastic cup" drink and we went for a walk-a-round.
I'm still trying to kill the roll of film.
One last look before it got dark out the balcony,,,
How can you beat a view like this?
Going through the lobby I took one more,,,, the problem in here is that it's just too dark for good shots, the flash only carries so far and I don't care if it's noon o'clock! It's still dark.
And so, for the first time in our six night stay, we make it out to Pride Rock,,, Uzima Rock,,, whatever,,,,
,,,, only to find that with the storm, they had brought all the animals in a bit early tonight,,,but look at all the grass yiou can look at!
There was nothing much to take a picture of, so I handed my Canon Sure Shot 35 mm camera over to the young cast member and watched her try to find the viewing screen,,,,
"No, you just look through that little hole in the top to line the shot up", I told her.
She took our picture,,, but I thought her hand might have been in the way,,,, so I asked her to do it again, with one hand tied behind her back.
She was now confused, and started lowering the camera but I stepped in
and said "No, never mind, really, never mind, just take the picture".
And she did.
That turned out to be the last picture taken on this trip.
Back in the room we packed some more, had another drink. As darkness moved in and claimed it's turf we went down to the pool side one more time, with our mugs rinsed out, then we went into Mara for dinner.
No idea what she had, but I know I just got the hot dog and fries basket that I usually get at the start of the trip, yes, I was in a kind of weird mood, we barely talked during the meal.
When we finished we started heading to the door that goes inside to the elevators, but I asked her to hold on a moment, and I made right turn and headed to our spot that we had maybe four times now by the pool.
Amazing,, sitting there now is a mom and dad and little girl, and sounded like a little boy in the pool was with them.
The killer was the mom was trying to read the pamphlets and stuff you get when you checkin,,,but it was way too dark to be able to read much.
"Hi," I said, "Just checking in?"
"Yes, well, two hours ago." she responded.
" This is a great spot, it's the only table not by the bar that's near the pool, so if you are into daytime swimming, you may want to try to get down here early,,,, but beware the love bugs." "Oh, and don't kill them, it just brings more of them, and try not to wear white."
I glanced at the little girl, who seemed like she was trying to maintain her excitement but the sleep fairy was calling.
Then I felt stupid smiling down at them.
She looked at me kind of strangely, said, "Um,,, ok,,, thanks."
And I walked away.
Diane had come with me also, and when I turned around to leave she just looked at me and smiled.
That's it, we have been officially replaced, time for the new regime.
It was with a feeling of acceptance that I went to sleep that night, ok, we get back to routine,,,, and on the way home I will be thinking and planning our next trip!
It's not the end, for a new beginning is right around the corner!

oh why couldn't the trip have ended that way?
good night
