P.O.T.C. On Stranger Rides! The Missing Chapter,,Final Thoughts,, Preview Thoughts.

Do you guys have those moments? Having a rough day at work or someone says something about Disney and then you think "right now someone is laughing histerically at Monster's Inc... or right now someone is breaking plates on the TSM... or someone is meeting Mickey..." I have been doing that alot lately... sadly not only do we not have the money to go... we also don't have the vacation time either.... sigh.[/QUOTE]

Oh Yeah! Right there with ya. I just know some one is on "my ride" in "my" park having a keen time while I am at work. But at least I get to read some great trip reports to tide me over..

I knew it was to good to be true - that you would be injury free through an entire trip.:sad2:

And no for something completely different...

Can someone please tell me why every time I order something from the Disney website, the VERY NEXT DAY they send an e-mail saying "get 25% off" or something like that! GRRRR!

Yeah, life's funny that way. Last year after a week of brainstorming and arguing, we finally booked a trip using DVC points from somebody else,,,, two days later we got a 35 percent off the Royal Pacific at Universal.

Also, there's an Atlanta radio station that sent a family of a special needs child to WDW for the weekend and they keep doing commercials for it, because they are syndicated in Indy. All of the 4 times I heard that commercial on the way to work this morning, I teared up.

Then I inevitably get sad because I'm not there and have no plans to go in the near future. :sad1:

Back when I was working,if I had a repetitive job to do I would try to re-live every trip to Disney we had taken,,, day by day,,,,or try to think of evey pool we had been at on property, and picture being there,,, I got pretty good at it too,,,, I once drilled right through the top of hand. Hmm, now that I think of it, I get hurt at Disney even when I'm not there!

Nebo, if you wonder if your readers love you, wonder no more! If we are attempting to sign in and post, we most definitely love you. Geez, I just read four pages in "The Secret Life of Bees" while I was waiting for the green light to post.

Great, only 24 letters to go.:rolleyes1

If I had a Disney bucket list, I would have to say that I would like to see if there was any length of a stay that would make me feel tired of Disney. That hasn't happened yet. I think our longest stay has been 11 days and I still went through the DD (Disney departure) syndrome.

Yeah, I'm still looking for theat ending period myself, I'm beginning to think it doesn't exist, at least for me.

Those tumbler cups of doom are terrible. DS knocked one off the counter on one of our trips and it didn't break into three big pieces, it shattered into what looked to be thousands of tiny, deadly shards. I hate you hurt yourself, you were on such an uncommon streak. I was actually rooting for you to make it injury free this time!

Next time for sure!

I agree with Marita! You really need to write a TR for the upcoming April/May trip. I assure you, we will be entertained. That last statement reminds me of Russell Crowe in Gladiator. Maximus!!!
I thought it was Gluteus Maximus, not Gladiator Maximus.

So, I believe I have mentioned that once you have APs that they will begin to scream at you to go to Disney. The APs are screaming for me again Nebo, loudly too. DH and I are trying to see if we can manage a quick, just us trip to WDW to catch the 24 hour opening of MK on the 29th. We would potentially leave the kids with my parents. It would be footloose and fancy free, no ADRs, really just a trip to see if I can stay up until closing at 6:00 am on 3/1/12. APs are a blessing and a curse, let me tell you. Ah, who am I kidding, they are great! ;) We haven't even looked at the resorts yet, but we will likely go as cheap as we can.

Ok, pull up a chair for a minute and let your old uncle nebo tell you a story;
Back in the mid seventies, there was a young lad who worked his regular job all day, and then at the spur of the moment, he would go at ten o'clock at night with his buddy who was working with his brother in law hanging speakers and a sound system at Arlington Park Racetrack.

THe young helpful but naive lad did this two nights in a row, and ended up going sixty hours without sleep.
As they were sitting in a restaurant after finishing up the job, the STUPID lad looked across the table and saw his buddy only had half of a head, if he only looked at him with his right eye.

The lack of sleep brought on a retinal detachment, and the doctor that fixed it is still taking care of me,,so not to rain on your parade,, but you might want to be carefull on the "staying up as long as we can" game.

I don't want this TR to end. :sad1:

Don't worry, you will after reading the next boring chapter.:lmao:

More podcast chatter... Sorry it took me so long to respond to your request for link to jakeybakes thread that was in the top 10 but I've been off the boards for a few days, busy doing silly stuff like work and school - such a DIS slacker. Here is the link:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2855942

Also, don't know if I was being clear in my earlier post - if you want to listen to the podcast there is a tab for it at the top of the disboards page, you can just click on it and it will get you to the podcast web page where you can listen to this weeks podcast, etc. You don't have to do anything with itunes, thats just the way I get it cause its easiet for me (there are other podcasts I listen to also) I have a really long commute (1 to 1 1/2 hrs one way depending on traffic) and the podcasts keep me sane.

Well thank you so much, appreciated. Since I'm almost done here I'll have plenty of time to read it.

Oh Yeah! Right there with ya. I just know some one is on "my ride" in "my" park having a keen time while I am at work. But at least I get to read some great trip reports to tide me over..

Yeah? what are some good ones?

Tuesday afternoon, cont. (last day)

Last day, final time walking into a Park and we are not holding back!
Lock and load, armed and ready, packing heat, no holds barred, good to the last drop.

Oh well.

To be honest, we have packed in the past a lot more heat than what we have today,, mainly cuz we don't have much time left with the park closing at 7.

I finished up my plasic cup of whiskey that caused the "bleeding in the room" trouble waiting for the bus, so as we walked into the Magic Kingdom we each have a loaded Sunny D, and I have a small airplane bottle of wodka for each of us, that's it.

I have also just swallered my very last painkillers,,,it's all about tonight, tonight, (picture Natalie Wood pretending to sing in West Side Story) and I'm not letting this hand bother me at all, nope, nope nope.
But gonna be a long drive home,,,,
"Lalalala,,,,", not thinking about that!

For the last time, I stuck my finger in the finger slot, and for the last time, it pretended to not know me. The cast
memver just waved me through anyway, even they are tired of checking me out by now.
My official fingerprints on file with the FBI is officially listed listed with the name; "?? Beats the crap out of me."
They can't read them either.

Now, you might think once we were inside, it would be a time to smell the roses a bit, take it easy, soak up the atmosphere, talk to the natives,,,,,

NOT!
It turned into ultimate commando time, not really sure how it happened, it just kind of started slowly and increased as the clock ticked away.
If we had ridden Dumbo, I would have been whacking his butt to make him go faster.

Smidgy would probably tell you it happened for only one reason,
I was there.

She would probably be right.

I'm guessing it was around 3:30 by now, so not much time left till they kick us out.

At the end of Main Street we turned right into Tomorrowland, and Smidgy asked if i wanted to do Buzz Lightyear one more time.

I had not choice, I hit her.
Twice.
First in the stomach, then in the jaw with an uppercut when she doubled over.

And I walked away to Space Mountain, as per plan.

Ok, I didn't really hit her, but I gave her a look that was even worse,, "Haven't you beaten me enough on that ride this trip? " it said.

At Space Mountain, she walked me through the dark line, we still had two fastpasses for it, and at the last minute she said, "Oh, heck, I guess I'll do it afterall."

They had made changes to the ride and the queuing area so she wanted to at least be up to date on it.

Going through the fastpass line didn't give us a chance to mess around with the new "in line" games, but I did notice some lighting changes, both in the staging area and on the ride.

No, I am not a big fan of this ride,,, nothing wrong with it, except it scares the hell out of me.
I keep feeling that my car is going to tip over, that there is too much car under me, and not enough car around me, or I am going to hit my head on an overhead beam or girder, waiting to die a painfull death usually takes some of the fun out of something for me.

I feel like the big dude sitting in the little coin operated car at the mall in the insurance commercial.

She doesn't really like it either, she mostly does it just for me so I have the feeling that it may be awhile till we do this again.

On the way into Fantasyland, Stitch was nowhere in sight, we went and watched Philharmagic. After that we got a Sprite to replenish our Sunny D's and use the little bottles.

Haunted Mansion came next, followed by one more Big Thunder, and one more Splash, for one of those we still had a fastpass for, even though we really didn't need it.

As fast as we were knocking off rides, the clock was moving as well.

We had considered going over to Tom's Island,,, but there really wasn't enough time for that, we did go one last time down by our rocking chair spot on the river.

I'm sorry,,, our MAGICAL rocking chair spot by the river.

Ok, MY magical rocking chair spot by the river.

It's like this,,,,,it's been about 3 hours now since I cut my hand,,, and now it's growing a heart, it didn't hurt at the time near as much as it is now.
It's not bleeding again though, but the pain is distracting,
no, not that bad, just something I didn't want to deal with on
our last day in Disney.

And I remembered something.

There was a time once a few years ago, when I had forgotten about pills I had put in my pocket, until much later.

I looked down at the shorts I'm wearing, and I knew I've worn them a couple times on the trip, but I can't remember where, or when, but they have really deep pockets, and a lot of them.

Since I've got the regular camera around my neck and don't have the digital in my pocket, the little bottles are now gone as well as all the maps and times guides, I can finally get down in there,,,,,to feel three little oblong shaped units of love.

Tears rolled down my cheeks as I swallowed them, lint and all.

We then walked down to Jungle Cruise to see if we can catch a good skipper.

She walked, I skipped. "C'mon, this way, we're almost to the Emerald City." We had a little over an hour left, and she couldn't figure out where my new found exhuberance came from.

Our skipper was ok, another girl, doesn't seem to be too many guys running this show anymore.

Here's my favorite part of the ride,,, the snake that starts with a P,,, c'mon,,, you know,,,,,
Plastic.

194.jpg

While we were in the neighborhood we thought we'd try the neglected Dumbo,,,,not sure why Dumbo will be packed and The Flying Carpets are ignored.

img035.jpg

We then used the cut through behind the carpets to get back into Frontierland,, or Liberty Square,,,
if you look way in the back, you'll see a construction crane next to the castle,,, not sure what it was doing there.

195.jpg

You can also see that it's starting to get crowded, as all the people coming for tonight's Very Merry Halloween Party get let in after 4 o'clock.

Walking down the main path, just looking around at stuff, we finally got all the way to the TTA, and rode that around one more time. It was quarter to 7, and I thought we could get in one more trip on the Casserole of Progresso, but we were shooed away at the door, much like Dorothy and her entourage and told to "Come back tomorrowwwww"

With that, we left and said goodbye to the Magic Kingdom.

______________________________________________

I was going to end this chapter there, but I thought one long boring chapter is better than two short boring chapters, so ,,, well, there you have it! heh

Crap, even writhing this is making me relive that last night again,,,I was ready to go and check in to another new resort.
And now I have to go through the feeling that even the trip report is about over, too. Where's that picture of Jay?

It turned out we picked a good time to leave.

Remember that morning? And watching the weather reports? Only a ten percent chance of the afternoon thunderstorms and Diane wanted to bring umbrellas?

These things moved in quickly!

It started just as the bus pulled up, with all these "Not so Scary Christmas Party" guests disembarking.

At this stage of the trip, for us, I would have preferred to see them all disembowling,,,,each other, but that's another trip report.

The rain came down in sheets, I don't know how the bus driver could see and once again reminded us of our drive to come tomorrow,,,

By the time we got to the Lodge, it was already starting to let up. Yes, the afternoon/ early evening storms are a riot,, all bark, little bite,,,,, but it's the ones that move in around 9/10 at night that can really get your attention,,,, they put Illuminations to shame.

My clothes were a little wet, so I put on what I was probably going to wear to drive in tomorrow, and threw all the rest in the suitcase, we have a big trash bag for the "Uh uh, no way am I putting this on again, this trip" clothes.

Once changed, we filled our mugs one last time,,,,and I made one last "plastic cup" drink and we went for a walk-a-round.

I'm still trying to kill the roll of film.

One last look before it got dark out the balcony,,,

189.jpg

How can you beat a view like this?

Going through the lobby I took one more,,,, the problem in here is that it's just too dark for good shots, the flash only carries so far and I don't care if it's noon o'clock! It's still dark.

img002.jpg

And so, for the first time in our six night stay, we make it out to Pride Rock,,, Uzima Rock,,, whatever,,,,

,,,, only to find that with the storm, they had brought all the animals in a bit early tonight,,,but look at all the grass yiou can look at!

There was nothing much to take a picture of, so I handed my Canon Sure Shot 35 mm camera over to the young cast member and watched her try to find the viewing screen,,,,

"No, you just look through that little hole in the top to line the shot up", I told her.

She took our picture,,, but I thought her hand might have been in the way,,,, so I asked her to do it again, with one hand tied behind her back.

She was now confused, and started lowering the camera but I stepped in
and said "No, never mind, really, never mind, just take the picture".

And she did.

img001.jpg

That turned out to be the last picture taken on this trip.

Back in the room we packed some more, had another drink. As darkness moved in and claimed it's turf we went down to the pool side one more time, with our mugs rinsed out, then we went into Mara for dinner.

No idea what she had, but I know I just got the hot dog and fries basket that I usually get at the start of the trip, yes, I was in a kind of weird mood, we barely talked during the meal.

When we finished we started heading to the door that goes inside to the elevators, but I asked her to hold on a moment, and I made right turn and headed to our spot that we had maybe four times now by the pool.

Amazing,, sitting there now is a mom and dad and little girl, and sounded like a little boy in the pool was with them.

The killer was the mom was trying to read the pamphlets and stuff you get when you checkin,,,but it was way too dark to be able to read much.

"Hi," I said, "Just checking in?"

"Yes, well, two hours ago." she responded.

" This is a great spot, it's the only table not by the bar that's near the pool, so if you are into daytime swimming, you may want to try to get down here early,,,, but beware the love bugs." "Oh, and don't kill them, it just brings more of them, and try not to wear white."
I glanced at the little girl, who seemed like she was trying to maintain her excitement but the sleep fairy was calling.
Then I felt stupid smiling down at them.

She looked at me kind of strangely, said, "Um,,, ok,,, thanks."
And I walked away.

Diane had come with me also, and when I turned around to leave she just looked at me and smiled.

That's it, we have been officially replaced, time for the new regime.

It was with a feeling of acceptance that I went to sleep that night, ok, we get back to routine,,,, and on the way home I will be thinking and planning our next trip!
It's not the end, for a new beginning is right around the corner!

oh why couldn't the trip have ended that way?

good night :rolleyes1

Geez! I just logged on here for a second so I can't even read the chapter that's posted! :headache:
Ah, well. I'm at work in the morning and weekends are pretty dead, so...

But I just had to comment on this:

Mine would be to actually vacation at Disney after working there for 39.75 years, LOL

Wow.... just, wow. :worship:

The last day of disney always goes by at triple speed.

I love S&M but am a little freaked out by not being able to see the track....that's why I always sit in the back. I figure if someone's going to be decapitated it will be the one in front and I'll have time to duck.

Have you seen dispicable me? Well, the your little pills remind me of the minions for some reason, when you talk about them.:)

I know that I don't participate much in the back and forth between chapters, but I feel like I know so much more about you now Winkers! :lmao:

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Oh I know! It's a family board, it's a family board... I keep saying this over and over.

Oh! The possibilities! So many quips, so few of which I can say.

Must. Restrain. Self.... Whoops! Getting into winkers' territory now.

Wow decapitated!! I've seen and read about some freaky things in my day but that kind of S&M takes it to a whole new level!!

My official fingerprints on file with the FBI is officially listed listed with the name; "?? Beats the crap out of me."
They can't read them either.

This could come in handy;)

No, I am not a big fan of this ride,,, nothing wrong with it, except it scares the hell out of me.

I agree!

:rotfl2:

With that, we left and said goodbye to the Magic Kingdom.

Until next time:hug:

oh why couldn't the trip have ended that way?

Do I REALLY want to know:confused3

I'll have to google it and refresh my memory. And cool that you have little sister to pick on,,, it was just the other way around with us,,, my sister was 4 years older than me, and would usually come to my defense if somebody was picking on me with a line like,,
"Nobody is allowed to hit my little brother,,,,,, except me!"

I never said she was little. I said as the nice older brother I am. Now go back 15 years or so, and she was still my little sister. Since then she's grown up to be just a little taller than I am. I still pick on her though. That's what older brothers are supposed to do. And yes, I can pick on her but no one else can.

Have you seen dispicable me? Well, the your little pills remind me of the minions for some reason, when you talk about them.:)

thdespicable-minions-100x100.jpg

Two movies we havent seen yet are Despicable me and Rango, heard they were both good but I wouldn't know about your vikeaminions.

I know that I don't participate much in the back and forth between chapters, but I feel like I know so much more about you now Winkers! :lmao:

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Yes, the things you find out in trip reports,,, you should see what she reveals in her own! It's not just the S&M,,, I make sure never to bring up resorts once I found out Boardwalk and Dolphin were her favorites.

Do I REALLY want to know:confused3

Of course you do.

Tuesday afternoon, cont. (last day)

Last day? What, you got some Mayan blood in you?

Last day, final time walking into a Park and we are not holding back!
Lock and load, armed and ready, packing heat, no holds barred, good to the last drop.

Lock and load: Sands of Iwo Jima
Armed and ready: "Let us speak courteously, deal fairly, and keep ourselves armed and ready." Theodore Roosevelt, San Francisco, CA, May 13, 1903
Packing heat: ‘He don't even pack a heater.’ ‘Don't what?’ ‘He don't carry a gun.’ W. R. BURNETT 1932
No holds barred: “The conditions of the match were best two in three falls Greco-Roman style; no holds barred.” Manitoba Daily Free Press, 1892 (But, I'm still going to go with Hulk Hogan.)
Good to the last drop: The House that Maxwell built.

Did I mention that Weekends are really slow at work?

I finished up my plasic cup of whiskey that caused the "bleeding in the room" trouble waiting for the bus,

Too bad your wait was so troublesome.

so as we walked into the Magic Kingdom we each have a loaded Sunny D, and I have a small airplane bottle of wodka for each of us, that's it.

 Oh, that's it? 'Cause usually, most people bring in at least a half dozen 750ml bottles and a couple of dozen beers.

it's all about tonight, tonight, (picture Natalie Wood pretending to sing in West Side Story)

Haven't seen it yet... It's on the list.

and I'm not letting this hand bother me at all, nope, nope nope.
But gonna be a long drive home,,,,
"Lalalala,,,,", not thinking about that!

I can't Heeeeaaaarrrrr you!

For the last time, I stuck my finger in the finger slot,

Nebo's Mom: "Steven! How many times do I have to tell you not to put your fingers on the mirrors/TV/windows/etc. Mark my words young man, some day you may need those fingers and they won't work!"
"Aw, Mom!"

My official fingerprints on file with the FBI is officially listed listed with the name; "?? Beats the crap out of me."

Why is it that while I don't believe they have them listed as "?? Beats the crap out of me", I don't have any problem believing that they do in fact have your prints on file?

It turned into ultimate commando time,

Dude. If you and Smidgy decide to go to MK without your underpants on, I don't really want to know.

not really sure how it happened,

Well, if you put your pants on first, that's usually how it happens.

it just kind of started slowly

Yup. One leg at a time. (Don't even try to make a joke about jumping in with both feet at the same time. With your track record, nobody's gonna believe you could do that without causing major trauma to yourself)

If we had ridden Dumbo, I would have been whacking his butt to make him go faster.

Darn. I'm at work so I'll reserve comment for now.

I'm guessing it was around 3:30 by now, so not much time left till they kick us out.

And have you seen the size of Mickey's feet? You don't wanna get kicked with those suckers.

Hmmm... they do say that the size of a male's feet is indicitave of the size of his...

heart.

That must be why Minnie loves him.

:rolleyes1

At the end of Main Street we turned right into Tomorrowland, and Smidgy asked if i wanted to do Buzz Lightyear one more time.

Interesting. I didn't know Smidgy was a sadist... Hey! She should get together with Winkers!

Wait! Wait! When she asked if you wanted to do Buzz Lightyear one more time, she was referring to the ride, right?

Right?

I had not choice, I hit her.
Twice.
First in the stomach, then in the jaw with an uppercut when she doubled over.

Sometimes you just gotta do whatever's necessary to protect yourself.

But I don't believe it.

Smidgy would block the body punch, step aside from the uppercut and hit you from your blindside... which with you is pretty much anywhere and everywhere.

Ok, I didn't really hit her,

See previous comment.

but I gave her a look that was even worse,, "Haven't you beaten me enough on that ride this trip? " it said.

"Just answer the question, Mr. Nebo. When did you stop beating your wife?"
"I don't beat her, she beats me!"

I don't worry about the car or my head... but I do worry that if I put my hands up that I will get hurt. I remember when I was a teenager and I went to a travelling amusement park with my best friend. We went on a coaster and on the climb up the hill, I could just reach a cross piece over the track. I managed to touch it and subsequently shocked both myself and my best friend. Not a feeling I'm in a great deal of hurry to repeat. :sad2:

She doesn't really like it either, she mostly does it just for me so I have the feeling that it may be awhile till we do this again.

First time with the DDs and they were too little to go on it.
Second time with the DDs and it was being refurbed.
Next time we'll go (and I am curious to see how different it is from what I remember), but give me BTMR every time.

Haunted Mansion came next, followed by one more Big Thunder, and one more Splash, for one of those we still had a fastpass for, even though we really didn't need it.

You've just described the way I'd want to end my own trip! Throw in one last Peter Pan (which usually can't happen without a fastpass) and you'd be bang on.

we did go one last time down by our rocking chair spot on the river.

I'm sorry,,, our MAGICAL rocking chair spot by the river.

Ok, MY magical rocking chair spot by the river.

Technically, our magical rocking chair spot. We're all going to want to go and find that spot now. Don't be surprised if on future visits you go there and some stranger will be sitting in the rocker and will look up and go, "Nebo?"

There was a time once a few years ago, when I had forgotten about pills I had put in my pocket, until much later.

I remember that one! :)

Tears rolled down my cheeks as I swallowed them, lint and all.

Next time wash them down with some water or something. Dry swallowing pills can be difficult. ::yes::

We then walked down to Jungle Cruise to see if we can catch a good skipper.

Cool! Do you get to cook your catch? Or is it catch and release? :confused3

She walked, I skipped.

She stopped, I fell.
She sighed, I bled.

Our skipper was ok, another girl, doesn't seem to be too many guys running this show anymore.

Hmmm.. I wonder why that is? Does a chintzy spiel come off better from a girl then from a guy?

While we were in the neighborhood we thought we'd try the neglected Dumbo,,,,not sure why Dumbo will be packed and The Flying Carpets are ignored.

Because earlier, the really little kids made their fathers ride it over and over and over...

and over...

and over again. Until the fathers are really sick of it. Just hypothetical of course.

With that, we left and said goodbye to the Magic Kingdom.

:sad1:

I was going to end this chapter there, but I thought one long boring chapter is better than two short boring chapters, so ,,, well, there you have it! heh

Yup. There's nothing better than if you are really bored with something, to string it out a little longer.

It turned out we picked a good time to leave.

Correction. There is no good time to leave. Some times are just slightly less worse than others.

Remember the conversation of how long could you stay? Wouldn't it be nice to stay until you said to yourself, "Yeah, I'm ready to leave."
For some people that would be a week... or less, for others... the sky's the limit.

Remember that morning? And watching the weather reports? Only a ten percent chance of the afternoon thunderstorms and Diane wanted to bring umbrellas?

Yes, you can't get more of a guarantee of rain then that.

At this stage of the trip, for us, I would have preferred to see them all disembowling,,,,each other, but that's another trip report.

That should be an interesting one.

The rain came down in sheets, I don't know how the bus driver could see and once again reminded us of our drive to come tomorrow,,,

Check, greater than 'gangbusters', less than 'Here's Noah'.

My clothes were a little wet, so I put on what I was probably going to wear to drive in tomorrow, and threw all the rest in the suitcase, we have a big trash bag for the "Uh uh, no way am I putting this on again, this trip" clothes.

Most people do that, don't they? Oh, sure there are some weirdo's out there that like to do laundry while on vacation, and if it's a long one, then it's a necessity... but otherwise... :sad2:

How can you beat a view like this?

Gotta admit. That's one fine view.

There was nothing much to take a picture of, so I handed my Canon Sure Shot 35 mm camera over to the young cast member and watched her try to find the viewing screen,,,,

What's a film camera? What's a record? Shall I go on?

Is it just me, or do you guys actually look a little sad in this pic? Smiling, yes. But still...

That turned out to be the last picture taken on this trip.

That, right there is a tough line to read. Must've been a hard one to type.

we went down to the pool side one more time, with our mugs rinsed out, then we went into Mara for dinner.

Mara? I may not have mentioned this before, but...

You know what they have at Mara?

Zebra Domes

Zeeeeeeeebraaaaaaa Doooooooommmmmes (emphasis on the 'mmmmm')

Wait. I'm not done yet.

mmmmmmmmm........

Okay, I'm done... no I'm not.

Zeeebra Dommmmes

:faint:

No idea what she had,

Zebra domes?

but I know I just got the hot dog and fries basket

Not zebra domes?????????????????????

we barely talked during the meal.

'cause you were too busy savoring zebra domes?

Amazing,, sitting there now is a mom and dad and little girl, and sounded like a little boy in the pool was with them.

The killer was the mom was trying to read the pamphlets and stuff you get when you checkin,,,but it was way too dark to be able to read much.

Grasp sword firmly by the hilt, insert forcefully into heart, twist.

" This is a great spot, it's the only table not by the bar that's near the pool, so if you are into daytime swimming, you may want to try to get down here early,,,, but beware the love bugs." "Oh, and don't kill them, it just brings more of them, and try not to wear white."

I can hear her now, "I'm on vacation. Why do I have to get here early? What's a love bug? Why can't I wear white? And who are you?

Then I felt stupid smiling down at them.

She looked at me kind of strangely, said, "Um,,, ok,,, thanks."
And I walked away.

Ya try and spread some pixie dust and what happens? They blow it back in your face! :rotfl:

and on the way home I will be thinking and planning our next trip!
It's not the end, for a new beginning is right around the corner!

That's the spirit! :thumbsup2

oh why couldn't the trip have ended that way?

Cue foreboding music.

Thanks for the chapter! :goodvibes

You know you just can't send Nebo & Smidgy one and not the rest of us. JK. Have fun in Hawaii.

Sure I can. Besides Nebo hasn't PMd me their address yet, so maybe you'll be the only one who gets one.

Of course the card might only say, "I'm here and you're not! :P ". That's a chance you'll just have to take.

I have also just swallered my very last painkillers,,,it's all about tonight, tonight, (picture Natalie Wood pretending to sing in West Side Story) and I'm not letting this hand bother me at all, nope, nope nope.

There's a song by Blake Shelton called "All About Tonight." This song came to mind when I read this. Mostly the chorus.

"It's all about tonight
Good times and the music and laughing and grooving to the band
Everybody's getting right
No worries we're rocking all kinds of concoctions in our hands
Yeah tomorrow can wait 'til tomorrow
It's all about tonight"

Going through the fastpass line didn't give us a chance to mess around with the new "in line" games, but I did notice some lighting changes, both in the staging area and on the ride

Those new games are fun. Only problem with playing the game is, it holds up the line. You get into playing the game and all of sudden the line moves. Nobody stops to move with the line.

She doesn't really like it either, she mostly does it just for me so I have the feeling that it may be awhile till we do this again.

Lady H is the same way. At the end of it all, she constantly repeats "Dumb Wife, Dumb Wife" when her stomach lands up in her throat.

As fast as we were knocking off rides, the clock was moving as well.

As the old saying goes. Time flies when you're having fun. YOU were having right?

There was a time once a few years ago, when I had forgotten about pills I had put in my pocket, until much later.

I can finally get down in there,,,,,to feel three little oblong shaped units of love.

Tears rolled down my cheeks as I swallowed them, lint and all.

Ah, now you I can tell you are having fun.

We then used the cut through behind the carpets to get back into Frontierland,, or Liberty Square,,,
if you look way in the back, you'll see a construction crane next to the castle,,, not sure what it was doing there.

195.jpg

Probably something to do with the Fantasyland Expansion. In our trip back Oct. 2010, there were cranes as well.

As I got closer to the castle, I was able to get a picture without the crane being in the picture. And no Pkondz, I did not use PhotoShop. Although I have it and have been known to use it in the past for situations like this.

"Come back tomorrowwwww"

You should've told them (along with with your best puppy eyes face), "We would love to. Can you comp us some rooms and tickets? This is our last day here."

With that, we left and said goodbye to the Magic Kingdom.

Our last day MK day, we are usually one of the last ones out of the park. I have to watch The Kiss Goodnight. After, I get a very sad feeling :sad1: and a lump in my throat knowing that will be the last time we see the castle this trip. Also, never knowing if we will ever get to see it in person again.

I was going to end this chapter there, but I thought one long boring chapter is better than two short boring chapters, so ,,, well, there you have it! heh

Who said it was boring? I didn't think it was boring. Oh, wait, it's not over yet.

It turned out we picked a good time to leave.

Remember that morning? And watching the weather reports? Only a ten percent chance of the afternoon thunderstorms and Diane wanted to bring umbrellas?

It started just as the bus pulled up

The rain came down in sheets

but it's the ones that move in around 9/10 at night that can really get your attention,,,, they put Illuminations to shame.

Our first trip was like that. First time it rained, we were at AK. Quick afternoon shower. Park cleared out. We waited it out and then had the whole park to ourselves it seems like. The night we got back to our resort, it started to pour in sheets just like you said.

img001.jpg

That turned out to be the last picture taken on this trip.

And what a nice picture it turned out to be.

It's not the end, for a new beginning is right around the corner!

Not with an April trip coming up:thumbsup2 Glad to see with everything that happened at the beginning of the trip, you at least had a pretty decent ending.

oh why couldn't the trip have ended that way?

good night :rolleyes1

:scared1: I may have spoken too soon. Don't know if I want to finish reading.

You know I will though. :goodvibes

This is what happens when you get older, you lose track of music,,,have not heard that.

Those new games are fun. Only problem with playing the game is, it holds up the line. You get into playing the game and all of sudden the line moves. Nobody stops to move with the line.

that sounds like it could be similar to the Toy Story Mania picture problems,,

Boy, you're pretty good too.

Amazinhg how grown men can get that way at a kid's park, isn't it?

I once had a poncho that was just shredded by a storm at Epcot one night.

And what a nice picture it turned out to be.

Yeah, I kinda like it too.

Oh yes, the good times are still coming!

Last day? What, you got some Mayan blood in you?

No, I have Mine blood in me.
sorry

Nebo's Mom: "Steven! How many times do I have to tell you not to put your fingers on the mirrors/TV/windows/etc. Mark my words young man, some day you may need those fingers and they won't work!"
"Aw, Mom!"

Well, no, they don't work,,, they didn't when it was a two finger system, and it doesn't work with just one finger either,,, really, I'm lucky if I bat .300 on the finger reader, that's not ev en once out of 3.

Why is it that while I don't believe they have them listed as "?? Beats the crap out of me", I don't have any problem believing that they do in fact have your prints on file?

Actually, I don't think they do. I once had my "picture" taken,,, but it never got to fingerprinting.

Dude. If you and Smidgy decide to go to MK without your underpants on, I don't really want to know.

Hey, if it's good enough for Arnie to make a movie about it, it's good enough for me.

:sad2:

Yeah, those traveling carnivals can really make you wonder about the rides,,, especially when you look at who is running them.

First time with the DDs and they were too little to go on it.
Second time with the DDs and it was being refurbed.
Next time we'll go (and I am curious to see how different it is from what I remember), but give me BTMR every time.

I agree.

You've just described the way I'd want to end my own trip! Throw in one last Peter Pan (which usually can't happen without a fastpass) and you'd be bang on.

I know this will be sacrilege, but the ET ride at Universal blows away PP IMO.

Technically, our magical rocking chair spot. We're all going to want to go and find that spot now. Don't be surprised if on future visits you go there and some stranger will be sitting in the rocker and will look up and go, "Nebo?"

Great, like I said, we all need to have our pictures taken there on upcoming trips.

Hmmm.. I wonder why that is? Does a chintzy spiel come off better from a girl then from a guy?

Not sure why, but I think overall there are far more young women than young men working the rides,,,,besides,,,, they have to repeat that spiel every ten minutes,,,,girls are much better at that than most men.

Yup. There's nothing better than if you are really bored with something, to string it out a little longer.

glad you approve.

Most people do that, don't they? Oh, sure there are some weirdo's out there that like to do laundry while on vacation, and if it's a long one, then it's a necessity... but otherwise... :sad2:

we have not done laundry yet, I don't think

Is it just me, or do you guys actually look a little sad in this pic? Smiling, yes. But still...

You could be right,, it was more of the forced type of smile because that's what you are supposed to do.

That, right there is a tough line to read. Must've been a hard one to type.

Honestly, the hardest to type was remembering looking down at the little girl at the table, 'cuz I remember the feeling of "it's over", and new that was it.

Grasp sword firmly by the hilt, insert forcefully into heart, twist.

I can hear her now, "I'm on vacation. Why do I have to get here early? What's a love bug? Why can't I wear white? And who are you?

Ya try and spread some pixie dust and what happens? They blow it back in your face! :rotfl:

I really think the pixie dust I was spreading then was for my own benefit,,, a kind of closure, I guess,, you have to understand,,, this was the last day of a 15 day stay!

That's the spirit! :thumbsup2

Cue foreboding music.

Thanks for the chapter! :goodvibes

And thank you for sharing your thoughts with us while you are at work,,,,,, what again was the name of your company? :happytv:

Oh Nebo.... **sigh**, I can't believe your report is coming to an end. What will I do after a long day of being Nurse Ratchet? Guess I'll have to go back and read your old trip reports to get my Nebo fix. I'll be watching for a new season of "The Adventures of Nebo and Smidgy", coming to a DISboards near you! :happytv: There will be blood, there will be injury, there will be fuzzy cups!! :lmao: I know you have another trip report in you!
