We are now using oxygen 24/7 and planning a trip to WDW. Does anyone have any experience with arranging oxygen in WDW? Anything I should be aware of? Anything i should make sure of? What questions should I ask my respiratory therapist? How do I go about setting things up?

It's way too late for me to be up, but I had to look when I saw a new thread and start you off with some information before I go to bed.

Your Respiratory Therapist should be able to help you get everything set up. You will need doctor's orders for the oxygen and equipment you need. It's quite possible that the company that provides oxygen at home also has a branch in Orlando - there are a few large companies that are all over the US. If that's the case, it should be very easy to get things set up.
If you are traveling by plane and will need oxygen on the plane, you need to set that part up with the airline. Some don't allow people to fly with supplimental oxygen. Your Respiratory Therapist shoudl be able to helo with that too.

Thanks for answering so quickly. The resperatory therapist doesn't explain things too much. I think he doesn't have too much experience in this, so that's why I'd like some info first.

My daughter has been using oxygen on the plane, now for many years, so we are quite familiar with all the hoops the airlines make us go through. Oxygen on land is a new experience for us.

My DD was put on oxygen the end of July, and it broke my heart when the cardiologist grounded her. We had reservations for Oct for 10 nights, and we had to cancel. I was thinking we may have seen the last of WDW. He has since said she is well enough to go to WDW so yay!! Any experiences would be so helpful.

there are some past threads about arranging oxygen. I just popped on before I go to work to see if I needed to respond quick to anything. If no one else finds them before I do, I will look for them this evening.
There is also a very helpful Respiratory Therapist who comes on this board a lot and I'm sure will post some helpful things for you.

Care Medical Equipment lists Oxygen (with presciption) on it web site[ URL]http://www.caremedicalequipment.com/[/URL]
There maybe others.

My Dad had Oxygen delivered right to his room no trouble at all. He just called a supplyer in the Orlando area a few days before our arrival and they were there within a hour of our arrival.

I did look back for past threads. Besides the one already posted, most of what I found had to do with air travel with oxygen.

We use Apria for my son's respiratory needs. They have a branch in Orlando. My local branch called the doctor for a script. The script was faxed to the Orlando branch. I confirmed the order with the Orlando branch before we left. The liquid tank was delivered to the room when we arrived. They also took care of picking it back up. DS only needs it at night. Since we were driving, I had our portable tank which I then refilled.
Glad you were able to reschedule! Have a good trip! :wizard:
