Oxford accommodation recommendations

Hi Uk Disboard friends, I am hoping to get some advice from someone local to the Oxford area. My husband and I will be there for 4 nights in April and we are looking for inexpensive, clean accommodations either in or nearby Oxford. Our son is studying in an exchange program with Oxford University, so we would like to be somewhat near him so he can show us the city he has come to love. Thanks for any help you can give!
