Owners Lockers

We are at BLT 2 BR for two nights and then BWV 1 BR for the next ten in May. We are having the box delivered to BWV (empty) and will fill it at that point which solved the resort hopping issue this time, anyway. I have a laundry basket I've been filling with new pj's, swim, sandals, fleece blanket ($3 at WM), twinkly lights, ponchos, small umbrella, laundry pods, OTC meds, neck fan, alarm clock (batteries), sharpie/notepad, old gps, bath items, suction cup grab bar (can't always get HA), kitchen wraps/zip bags, salt/pepper, $ store Disney tote bags (great for pool), plastic hangers and a "few" other items. I'll ship heavy stuff (one price USPS) and bring the rest in an old suitcase I'll leave. I'm picky and I don't want to go to six different stores to find what I want. We plan to leave a full change of clothes and fleece vests as well. From my trial run, there is room to spare. Why didn't we do this years ago?

NOW, I can honor my promise of only taking carry on LOL!

Pros: you can store quite a lot of stuff - and fly with only a carry on
Cons: you can store quite a lot of stuff - which makes it easy to buy stuff "for the owner's locker"

Note - we have one OL and every time I keep thinking we need to clean it out a bit. At the end of each trip it is like playing 3D Tetris and then I have to lean on the top a little to get it closed...

I am signed up and we are going in a week! I haven't decided if I should ask for our OL to be delivered though. I want to, so we can fill it up before our November trip when the kids are coming and taking less stuff with us would be ideal. But I am worried because we are resort hopping basically our entire stay, BWV to AKV to SSR Studio to SSR 1BR. I saw on here that you can have them collect at a different resort, but do I just have bell services move the locker and our carry on bag each time?

Sorry to semi-hijack, but maybe it's something OP will find useful too.

As to the OP, I am excited to use it and at the very least the DVC discount on the first year makes it a fairly low risk thing to try yourself.

If you don't want to be lugging it to all the resorts, you can have it delivered to your last, or second to last resort and fill it then.
And yes, with a split stay, you just leave it at bell services with your other luggage to be moved. (And I echo what everyone else said, tip tip tip.)

The list I have on the OL dashboard is much longer, but here's a sample of the types of things we keep and use:
ponchos
extra sunglasses
first aid stuff: band aids, kids medicines, etc.
*new* pandemic item: thermometer
cooling fans
cooling towels
adults' PJs (kids grow too fast)
ears
shelf stable foods (sugar, oatmeal, honey, microwave popcorn, mac and cheese, coffee, condiments)
Brita filter water bottle
small expandable christmas tree*
pool shoes, pool bags, etc
Disney dresses (and other clothing) I only wear at Disney world
park bag

*Like other DVC reasoning - we got a small Christmas tree delivered for our first Christmas trip in 2019. Then it became a reason to go to WDW over Christmas: "we already have a Christmas tree!"

I used to keep a set of 4 plastic plates/bowls/dishes for use in studios. Then brought the dishes to work because we got more points and don't usually stay in studios any more.

Thank you! Having it delivered to the last stay is a great idea actually. Our last two days are at Saratoga and we could get it just for that part of the stay

What do others consider for tipping for moving from one resort to another? Not sure who is doing the actual drive to the other resort. If you want to just give a range that’s fine, I tried searching the site for this info but couldn’t find anything definitive, although it sounds like tipping is sometimes a difficult topic.

I had in my head like a $20 tip since I imagined someone in bell services also doing the move between resorts, but if I am way out of line one way or another would like to know.

DH tipped $5 when Bell Services came to pick up our one carryon, one regular suitcase and one OL for transfer from Kidani to BWV, the same when they delivered them to us at BWV, and again $5 when they came to pick up just our OL the night before we checked out.
