Owner's Lockers New DIS Deal

Having just signed up with the Mousesavers deal last week, and not even having a trip planned where I'd use it (so I don't necessarily need it right away, altho I might if I can get all the kids together), I'm not too happy to see the new, much better DIS deal for OL. But those of you who didn't sign up yet and are thinking about it...lucky you.

I saw the new deal this morning, too...and after just jumping on the Mousesaver deal, I felt jipped - but if I can switch that would be good. This DIS deal is better.

I just went to sign up, and the agreement doesn't reflect the additional free visit per year. It says one per year and any additional are 25.00. Will I get any confirmation that it is 2 free for the life of the membership?

saw the deal on boards is the discount on the one-time signup fee?

do you stil pay the full annual membership?

if you sign up before your trip, when does the "clock start ticking"...when you sign up or when you actualy arrive @ resort?

I have the same concern as Pennykay-I wish it said in writing that we received 2 free deliveries per year. It sounds like John is very customer-service oriented but I still would like it in writing.

John, I knew you were good, but I didn't know you were THAT good. I just figured you made another good offer and I missed out. Like when I get something on sale at CVS, and the following week, they have a deal to get the whole cost of the item back in extrabucks.

If we get this new deal, can we get the locker for our upcoming trip...days from now? (It's OK if we can't!) With the new deal, it might be worth it to us.

Which has now given me some new questions to ask. We arrive at MCO at around 9:15 AM...in that case, would the locker be there when we check in about an hour later (but probaby not get into our room, altho it has happened) or would it be there in the afternoon, at Disney's "official" checkin time?

And for pickup from the resort...do you pick up at checkout time, or would it be available for as long as we're there? Our plane leaves at 9 PMish that night, and I'm wondering if I'd have anything with me in the parks that day after checkout that I'd want to put back in the locker. Altho the only thing I can really think of offhand is my sackbag with rain ponchos, and I could just take them home with me, so that's no problem.

So what I really want to know is...how do you time dropoffs and pickups?

Yes, that is the link I used, but once you get to the contract page, it still says only one is included.

Questions:

How long is this deal on for?

What is the payment process if I sign up now but don't even use it until December? Does my yearly payment start right now or then? Ie. Is the yearly payment by year, ie 2008 year? Or does one's year start when you use it? (Whoops: Two other DISers already asked these questions )

Okay, got my answers from your website. Will not be charged the yearly until locker comes back in after your initial visit. That date is your yearly date for yearly payment. Initial one time payment will not come out until 30 days before first visit. Got it. You must love the same Qs over and over, eh?


Why is the 2 free pickups for life not on the setup page as a PP said? Or are you fixing that?

This I'm not sure. I know you have to push "on the DIS' and therefore recalculate. Did that and 2 free visits is not coming up. Just the initial discount.

Gee, Christopher, haven't you heard that famous saying that goes, "a deal is in the eye of the beholder" or something like that?

We tried to be very careful in structuring the two deals so that they would be VERY different. And I think they are. Some people may like one while other people prefer the other. Perhaps we have run them too close together. But when you're working with different sites, not everything is completely in your control.

We're in this business for the long run and don't want anyone to feel they have been treated unfairly and I'm sorry if we stressed you out!

John, speaking for myself, I was disappointed that I signed up with the other deal (altho, if I can get the new one ), but not that you had in any way cheated me. Businesses offer different deals all the time; sometimes you hit the good ones, and sometimes you don't. And when you don't, you're disappointed. Doesn't mean I feel the business did anythong wrong.

The unique situation here (besides the fact that other businesses would probably say that we were SOL) is that all these Disney websites are so interconnected. It's like one big yacky neighborhood, where everyone knows everyone else's business. Sure does complicate things, doesn't it.

Can I redeem myself by telling you I've been touting the benefits of Owner's Locker all over the place, on the Internet and in "real life"?

Wow. The DIS deal isn't just better than the MouseSaver's deal. It's way, way, way better. I am very glad that we are able to switch.

I keep thinking of more and more things to put in my locker. I think I'm going to like this service a lot. The latest addition: The heaviest thing to pack is always shoes. I think Ii'm going to keep a few pairs in my locker. Not having to carry them back and forth will make my bag much lighter .

Hi Pennykay,
yes, you will get an e-mail from me confirming that in addition to the discount off the Membership Fee, you will qualify for two free Visits as long as you are an Owner's Locker Member. Promise.

Keishashadow, the discount is off the membership Fee only. The Standard Annual Plans still is $99 per year but will include two Visits instead of one.

We do not charge your credit card until 30 day before you arrive so you can sign up anytime. When you Locker comes into our warehouse for the first time full of your stuff at the end of your first Visit, we call this your Anniversary Date and this is when the clock starts ticking...it's sort of like a use year.

lisaviolet, I don't know how long the deal will be offered...that's up to the DIS.

The two Visits instead of one won't show on the site--just the discount. It will be confirmed in an e-mail.
