OK, trying to tell my DH we need to get one but I need to convince him that there would be enough things to keep in it to justify it. So...let me know what you keep in yours (especially the unusual things). All help is appreciated:)

Here's my current inventory from the website - hopefully nothing too embarrassing here! Good question, because it made me realize that my list doesn't seem to be up to date for our next trip - need to dig up my hand written sheet from last trip and see what edits I need to make!
(We are on ownership year 3 - hence the number of items that say "need" - a number of our OTC type things were expiring.)

I've been thinking about getting one, would save me a trip to my parent's to pick up our existing stash.
In my rubbermaid tote (which would be the same as an OL unit) I have:

* Kitchen items: Coffee filters, some condiments & cooking items (sugar, salt, pepper, spices, oil etc), cookie sheet, and a small presto skillet. Plates, Bowls Cups and utensils, including, of course, steak knives! (no more paper & cheap plastic products in studios)

* Bathroom items: Shampoo/conditioner/etc. Sun tan lotion and aloe vera for when we forget to use said lotion. Hand/body Lotion for the cold, dry months. Shower Gel, Toothbrushes and tooth paste.

* Electronics: Extra universal wall chargers for the phones/laptop and AA batteries/flashlight for walking at night or if the hotel ever (but won't) has a power outage.

Also adding an Air mattress w/pump & sheets (yes, real fitted sheets for the beds!) this upcoming trip.

This might help you convince your dh: Some folk like to keep liquor in there. :wizard:

Reference vicki_c:

Ah, yeah, us, too . . . but only one of all of that . . in two (2) OLs . .

We have two owners lockers and we keep EVERYTHING we need for a WDW vacation in them, so we can literally get on the plane with nothing but the clothes on our backs and we would be set. We have extra set of eye glasses, umbrellas, all of our cosmetics, phone chargers, digital camera, work out clothes, shorts, shirts, pants, light jackets, swimsuits, etc. etc. etc. We use those space bags where you squeeze all of the air out of your clothes so everything fits and stays protected. For us it works really well.

Everyone's list will be similar AND different, LOL. I have to have a latex pillow, a fitted sheet (I have one queen and one king in the OL). I also keep extra undies(like 4 pair + bras+ socks), couple pair of shorts and t-shirts and a bathing suit, nightgown and robe, make-up, curling iron, hairspray, toothpaste and toothbrush, salt, pepper & garlic powder. Ponchos too. Scissors, tweezers, bandaids, sinus meds, ibuprofen, Tums. I know this is rambling.....sorry. I love my OL and really miss it when I am traveling somewhere other than WDW.

Amoung the things I have that I probably wouldn't pack down there...

1. Tube for pool (yes that fit!)
2. A REAL hairdryer
3. Bottle of Vodka
4. Wireless router
5. Disney purse

And of course the basics. Full size sunscreen, full size hairspray etc.

I pack carryon and the OL really helps!

I love having full sized toiletries, in the brands I prefer in my OL. I also have...
4 changes of clothes
Crocs
playing cards
sweaters
bathing suit
beach towels
melamine dishes/bowls/cups
regular silverware
3M hooks
clothspins
coffee packs
washer/dryer sheets
ponchos
razors

I know there is more in my OL, but I can't remember it all at the moment. I love having it down there, waiting for me. It's so nice to be able to just pack a carryon for those 4 night stays...no checked bag needed. Even if it's a longer stay, my dh and I can get by with just one checked bag between us.
OL is worth every penny!!!!

My DH was hesitant about using it too until we actually GOT it. I shipped a box down via UPS the first time we filled it and we flew in carry-ons...he LOVED that bit and that alone sold him that we weren't schlepping around a bunch of luggage!! (We also saved a lot in bag tips!:rotfl:)

We have about 120 items in our Owners Locker (many of the same ones that are on vicki_c's list). Some things we have that I didn't notice on her list are some air freshner for the bathroom, packing tape, coffee filters, rubber bands, spare AA batteries, a couple of flashlights, candles, a couple of light backpacks, spray fans, 2 pool / beach bags (1 sm & 1 lg), flip flops, a collapsible cooler (to take to the pool & water parks), a couple of "blue ice" things to use in the cooler, plastic cups & straws to take to the pool, a set of sharp knives, extra plastic silverware, microwaveable storage bowls & paper plates (we use studios & need that kind of stuff rather than dishwasher detergent). It's stuffed FULL to the point that I have to sit on the lid while DH fastens it shut. I can't get anything else in it. I wish we had room to keep an air mattress & pump bcuz DS would rather use that than the sleep sofas.

We weren't able to go down this past year because we went to Europe & did one of the DCL Med cruises instead so somewhere I have a list of my contents with exp. dates on our sunscreens, moisturizers & OTC meds. We're going down next March/April for spring break so I know I need to replace some of these items because they're from LAST year. Normally now we just fly down in carry-ons but we have booked on Jet Blue for this trip so we'll be able to have 1 free checked bag pp. This way I can take some of these replacement items (like sunscreens). And I can bring the air mattress for DS to use on this trip. Doubt I'll be able to make room to leave the air mattress down there tho. I would have to remove backpacks & pool bags so that wouldn't solve anything for us.

I can't wait to see our Owners Locker again & am just glad that we'll be able to use it again next year. We LOVE it. LAST year we went down 3 times so we really used it a lot then. This past year was just an "off" one for us with the whole Europe thing.

MINI KEURIG! Just ordered our 2nd locker specifically to store our mini Keurig. We pack our 1st locker so full I'm surprised the lid hasn't flown off and hit John on the head while in transit.
In just 16 days I'll be enjoying a good cup of coffee on my balcony at VWL!
Love my Owners Locker(s)!

I tried every way possible to fit the mini Keurig in our locker in April, but it was a no go. Like Annie - we pretty much have to sit on ours to close it now!

Which reminds me - totally OT - can I carry the mini Keurig (in its travel bag) on as carry on luggage on the plane? DH and I are taking a short / carry-ons only trip in November, and I would really like to have it. Anyone know?

We are new OL users - and I did the same thing as one of the PPs - I shipped a box of things to go in the OL via UPS.
Now we will definitely just do a carry on for our trips - all of the "essentials" are already there waiting for us :goodvibes

My DH thought I was nuts when I told him we needed one but once he saw it in action he changed his mind

We have Absolut, Tanqueray, and Woodford Reserve. That should be something that interests your DH. Other items: Mini stereo speakers, Brita pitcher and filters. Chip clips, clothes pins, zip-locks and foil. Purell 3-in-1 and color catchers. Hair care products and a grooming kit. Batteries and glow sticks. Mini tool set, ponchos and wine kit. Electric razor, curling iron and night lights. Deodorants and shampoos. Coffee filter packs and salt/pepper. Tylenol and other as needed meds. There is more, but that is all I could remember.

We love our OL and we have only used it once so far. We were able to stock it in August when we were there with a car. We are looking forward to having it in 17 days and again in the Spring. I'm hoping that the booze has survived the transfers!:thumbsup2

Love our 2 OL's. We have all the things previously mentioned plus, a feather pillow, yes we do have a mini Keurig, framed photos of our kids and grandkids (love having them set about), hand held drink mixer (for my morning smoothies), portable router...these are in our #1 Locker. Number 2 locker (Uncle Scrooges Office in a Box) enables us to go for 2+ weeks at a time, it is our office in a box, flat screens to hook up to our laptops, keyboards, a printer, and various other office stuff so we can take care of our business every morning till 12pm or 1pm, then play the rest of the day...best of both worlds.

I keep some Captain Morgan in ours and it's always been just fine!! :thumbsup2

Here's another reason I read about having an OL.

You can us the top of the locker as a tray to bring food out to the grill when staying at THV. :-))

... and the bottom as a laundry basket when staying in the studios.
Idea for another thread: since studios don't have laundry baskets (no place to store them I'm sure) why don't we have spare ones in the laundry room?

They used to have ones in the laundry rooms . . .where do you think they ended up?

We were Beta trial members a few years ago and now we proudly have 3 OL! One of them is our "regular" OL, one has all our Christmas stuff and the other locker holds all of DH's Legos trains for our Christmas decorations!

When my son got married, we stuffed our locker with surprise bride and groom stuff for their honeymoon at WDW. We will be stuffing it again when our other son goes to the BCVs for his honeymoon in April. We included bride and groom hats, flip flops, toasting glasses, and a bottle of ice wine.

All bathroom toiletries and "Disney shoes" fill up our whole box. For next trip I am adding a mini tool kit. Also, we put goggles and water wings in for our little ones
