Owner's Locker and cubes

Thanks for the visuals...the notes were neat. I guess we'll see this weekend how it goes...I'd prefer to keep stuff in their bags if I can... I am at the countdown now!! Tomorrow at this time we should be almost to the airport parking lot! Trying to plot our route to the airport using backroads rather than the major highways since it's the start of a holiday weekend....want to avoid traffic jams on DC beltway!

Now back to trying to cross some things off my "to do list"!

I have a ton of pictures of the packing process, but I haven't had a chance to upload them yet.

Have a great trip - and good luck!

LOL, Tara, you sound like a good match for Anal Annie!:rotfl2: I must say, i have never taken a photo of the packing process!

Well, I was working quickly and worried I wouldn't get everything written down, so it was easier to take pictures and not stress so much about keeping the list. :)

Yeah, our list got misplaced the first time. I'm not quite as anal though, so I just kind of roll with the punches. I figured whatever I didn't remember from the locker last time I could go buy somewhere this time. As it turns out, we didn't need anything other than groceries, and in fact, I took a couple of things home that I had put in the locker last time. I decided we didn't need them in there. I figure life is too short to spend so much energy on something so mundane as packing.

Well, I also had a big plan to work on a project for John, but that didn't work out as I'd hoped. So, nothing mundane going on here.

Truth be told, I hate both packing and unpacking! Especially the part that happens when we get home. I kind of enjoy putting everything away in the villa once we get there, but then the whole packing to go home and packing the locker thing isn't too much fun, and unpacking at home is even worse, because you know you wont be back for awhile.

Owners Locker sure has made the unpacking at home easier though. I had so little to unpack once I got home, it didn't hardly take any time at all. Our clothes were all packed clean, so it wasn't any different than unloading the laundry basket after washing.

YES on the putting things away in the villa! It's sort of like setting up camp, only without the bugs. ;) Maybe that's cause it was our first time in anything other than a studio...I dunno. Packing the locker is fun when it starts cause I like the tetris-packing challenge, but that wears off pretty quickly! But between OL and having a W/D in the room, unpacking this time was a breeze!

I don't always hate packing - when I have the time and energy to think about it ahead of time, it's fine. Plus there's the "hey, I'm packing for vacation!" feeling. But most of my packing is for work travel (none of that same great vacation feeling), and for vacation I don't always have (make) the time to really think and prepare for packing, so I end up over packing, which I really hate to do! I over-packed this time a bit - packed about 2 more outfits for me than I needed and about 2 shirts too many for DH.

The OL is one of the best inventions EVER!! This was our 1st visit with our packed OL (I purchased/filled it in January). It was so nice to have stuff there and not have to worry about packing it.

I sent a few more things down via UPS and also put some stuff in the suitcase. I am amazed at how much can fit, but the sides aren't perfectly straight and the corners aren't square so you do need to do some strategic packing.

We don't pack clothes in our OL, just everything else that we use and anything we might possibly need!!

Next trip for sure will be carry on only (if I can resist packing too many outfits and pairs of shoes, that is....)
