We are going to WDW May 3-10. We have never been. I began some planning for this trip long ago but now we are down to the wire and no dining plans.

This is what I need:
Would like to go to have at least 1 TS during trip. I really don't want to waste alot of time with the dining and plan to go back to the room in the middle of the day for Epcot and MK days to rest.
What is the best restaurant not to miss at WDW-any park.
My kids are 6 and 11. We aren't planning on character meals. Trying not to be overwhelmed with the trip and trying to be flexible. Is it too late for ADRs?

Thanks so much!

I think that if you called Disney and asked what restaurants were available for your dates......then maybe you will be able to decide...
I think that your kids would enjoy Biergarten in Epcot. The buffet is really good and they have items on the buffet that the kids will like too.....Entertainment is awesome ....
In MK, if you are able to, Crystal Palace for lunch is good for your kids ages too....there are characters there .....
Hollywood and vine at the studios is another good buffet for the kiddos....

As the previous poster suggested, I would call and see what restaurants are available. My thoughts for each park (and I am eliminating any restaurant that has characters since you indicated you did not want to do characters) are:

Magic Kingdom -- Plaza Restaurant or Tony's Town Square for lunch
Epcot -- Biergarten or LeCellier
Hollywood Studios -- Mama Melrose or 50's Prime Time
Animal Kingdom -- we've never had a sit down here, but we are trying Yak & Yeti this trip...but not until Septmeber so I can't let you know how it is

My husband and I will be there on the same week May 3rd throught the 10th. we made all of our ADR's about a month ago and it was difficult to get many of the places we wanted.

I would recomend luch or dinner at 50's Prime time cafe on the day you got the MGM. The food is great and it is alot of fun for adults and kids.

On the day you are at the Magic Kingdom I would recomend dining at either the Crystal Palace (in the Kingdom) or at Chef Mickey's at the contemporary..both are charachter dining experiences and the food is great at both.

If at Epcot you could eaty pretty much anywhere arround the world. I've eaten at the Beirgarten and I was delicious. My hubby and I have been trying to get into Le Cellier but they are booked all week for lunch and dinner. the day we are going to epcot we are going to Cape May calmebake for dinner at the beach club resort...it is close to epcot and the food there is great!

The day we are going to animal kingdom we are going to dinner at BOMA at the Animal Kingdom Lodge...it is an african themed buffet, our first time going but we are excited to try it. I will recomend if you are looking for a good CS place at AK I would definately do Flame Tree BBQ. The Pull Pork and Chicken are AWESOME!!!

I hope some of these suggestions help...I would reccomend calling to make your ressies ASAP as things were hard to get when I called.

Have fun!:dance3:

I know you said you weren't planning on character meals but the Crystal Palace buffet at MK offers a wondeful breakfast and Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort has a delicious dinner buffet. I really think your kids would like both places. They are the two restaurants we make sure we go to every trip because they are fun and the food is great!

Crystal Palace is also on my list. We like to go there for breakfast every year :thumbsup2 Boma is another place I would suggest, but it isn't at a park; its at the AKL.

We don't seem to eat at the parks as much as we do at the resorts.

If you like a really nice dinner, we love the Brown Derby at DHS.

However, our family favorites are O'Hana at the Poly and Whispering Canyons at the WL you could take the boat or monorail over on one of your MK days. We also love the PrimeTime Cafe and SciFi Diner at DHS. These are all a lot of fun! And at Epcot, my son loved the Marrekesh (not sure of the name but it is the restaurant in Morrocco) and the sushi bar in Japan.

Everything is good, although some are a little better than others or a little more fun.
