Overstressed Bride, I need to vent

I totally feel everyone's pain. My stresser is planning the room blocks. We are paying for the rooms and airfare for immediate family only and reserving blocks for the extended family...I know we're gonna get flack on this. "Why are you having it so far away??" etc.

My thinking is...if you want to come, come. If you don't..oh well. As long as parents and brothers/sisters are there, THAT is the only thing that is important to us. Well...that and having it in Disney, lol.

What I'm trying to say is...it's OUR day ladies. Why can't people just shut up and be honored to be a part of things without having to make a big deal about what they don't like? Sheesh...breathe everyone!

I see so many pictures of y'all with the sweetest looking men...I hope that we can all hold on to them when we feel our worst or most stressed. I often find myself realizing and feeling so relieved that I'm not going to have to fight the world alone anymore...I've got a partner in crime and it's such a blessed relief...whatever it is, we'll face it together...even though I'm still learning this and so sometimes I grouch at him when it really isn't his fault and he still loves me anyway...brings me a glass of wine and tells me that everything is going to be okay.

Hmmm I think we are all in the same boat.

46 days to go & I just moved this Tues from NY to TX. Have to unpack & set my life up here, await the sale of my condo in NY,find a new job, adjust to being a military bride/wife, make new friends, deal with all the normal wedding drama & my hubby will be deployed to Iraq for a year in late summer. AGHHHHHH!!!

I saw one common theme among the stressed. You all seem to be doing planning and research for your guests. I realize YOU have the responsibility of blocking off rooms for them, but that's where it stops! Do not research meals and "vacationy" stuff. Let them do their own research. Or, if it's an intimate wedding, buy a few Unofficial Guide Books and let 'em have at it. Let your guests be responsible for themselves. Block off rooms for them, but if they accept your invite, then it is up to them to make the rest of their plans!!!

Also, leave a lot of your stress in your EM's hands. They are perfectly capable of planning your dream wedding. Tell them what you want and then back out of it. If one or two little things don't work out just as you had envisioned, well, you probably won't even notice because you will be so excited to be married!!!

Mrs. Tink...thanks for your words of wisdom. I know you're right and that it's too much to expect everything to be perfect. I'll feel better when I get a handle on who's planning to come and who's not. My family is totally on board with everyone planning to come. We're talking to his family on Easter when they're all together. Hopefully then I can let out this breath I've been holding for two weeks!
