Overstock coupon code troubles.

I found a 10% off an entire order coupon code on couponcabin.com. When you use the link, you can see on the main page that it says the 10% coupon is activated. I put things into my cart and then went to checkout and I can't get the coupon to subtract the discount. I even went as far as the last screen where I'd click submit the order but still no discount. Any help is appreciated.

The same thing happened to me last night. I just went ahead and placed my order without the discount.

I had this happen with a 15% off coupon. It says discount applied to entire order, does not say "some restrictions apply" or even have an asterisk footnote listing exclusions. BUT after I placed my order for a book & the discount was not applied, I contacted their "live" cs on the web. The guy tells me that the discount does not apply to media items.

I disagreed with him that the coupon did not list any exclusions anywhere & claimed to be for the entire order, so they should honor it. He did not budge. If it had been for more than 1 book I probably would've cancelled my order.

So, long story short, I don't know if your items were media related--books, dvds, cds, etc., but if they are chances are they are a "hidden exclusion" not as much fun as a hidden mickey.

I just checked coupon cabin. When you activate the Overstock coupon, there is an asterisk to the fine print:
*10% off coupon will appear on the billing page before submitting the order. This offer applies to U.S. orders with standard shipping only. For expedited shipping, additional charges apply. This offer applies to the lower 48 states and APO/FPO destinations only. This offer excludes orders comprised solely of products from the "Books, Music, Movies & Games", "Auctions" and "Travel" categories. This coupon cannot be combined with any other offer or coupon. Maximum savings of $125. Offer ends September 30, 2006 @ 11:59 PM EST.

Thanks so much everyone! I guess that explains it, I was buying dvds and cds. It is rather misleading though if you miss the little asterisk! I guess that teaches me to read the fine print.
