Bagels are overrated. They're not that exciting, no matter who makes them or what's on them. And that includes NYC bagels. Give me a muffin over a bagel anyday.

Next...;)

Not me, I love bagels. I get these really yummy sunflower bagels (actually flagels), with a little butter, yum.

I know I'm going to get flamed for this bigtime, but Dole Whips, what the heck is the big deal? I don't like them at all.

 Muffin over a bagel?!?! Say it ain't so GG. Nothing beats a sesame seed bagel with lots of schmear. :hyper:

Okay, I've got one. Wedding cake. People pay all this money for a wedding cake, and they are, IMHO, gross and sickly sweet. :crazy2:

If I were to get married again, I'd get a cardboard cutout of a big beautiful wedding cake, and put it on a table with lots of flowers around it.

Then I'd have a make-it-yourself ice cream sundae table for my guests. With lots of whipped cream and hot fudge and peanutbutter and M&M's and stuff. :teeth:

Flame if you must but I don't like Dole Whips either. Maybe the ones I've had were poorly prepared but they didn't have much flavor.

Wow. I love bagels, muffins, Dole Whips, and wedding cake. :p

Steak is kind of overrated. It takes so dang long to chew.

Barb, while I don't agree on the bagels, you are SO right about wedding cake! I've yet to have one that's any good. They're usually dry and waaaaayyyy to sweet. If it was me, I'd thaw out a few Sara Lee cheesecakes and serve those instead - they taste better and they're alot cheaper.;)

Love steak, muffins and bagels
Never had a Dole Whip
Gotta agree with you on the wedding cake one.

Okay, I'll probably get flamed for this, but lobster. I mean it's good and everything, but worth the price? Nope!

Muffins ;)

You're so funny.:p Actually, I don't like the tops of muffins. I only eat the bottoms. I'm sort of a backward version of Elaine on Seinfeld - she believed that only the tops were worth anything.:p

Ice cream. I'd rather use the calories on cake

We had frozen peanut butter pie for our wedding cake because that is what we liked! :teeth:

Have to join the "not crazy about Dole Whip" club. The people where I used to work RAVED about it and couldn't wait til the little stand near us would have them. They kept telling me how wonderful they were. I finally tried one and was totally underwhelmed. :confused3

Not gonna say this too loud, cuz I have Hunters in the area............. Deer meat!!! UGH :crazy2:

I agree on with you on the lobsters, so we'll both get flamed! I feel like I'm fighting with the lobster to get the food out.

I have to agree with Deer Meat - YUCK!, Wedding Cake - I've only had a couple that were any good, and to add to the list - Mickey Bars!

I'll take a Dole Whip anyda over those yucky and messy Mickey Bars! Flame away - I've got on my suit!

Bagels - A lot depends on where you get your bagels. I got spoiled after working for a small bagel shop where I'd get them right from the oven (cooled enough to handle, of course).

Muffins - I'll agree with Seinfeld's Elaine that the tops are... the tops. :)

Lobster - Good flavor usually but not worth the inflated prices usually charged.

Dole Whips & Mickey Bars - Perhaps I had unrealistic expectations after reading so many good reviews of them on the DIS. I wasn't at all impressed with either. I'll have a Haagen Daz "Dulce de Leche" bar instead, please.

Wedding and most other decorated cakes - I've always considered them to be little more than "sugar and fluff". A member of a group I belong to does beautifully decorated cakes but it's almost as if the cake itself is only a very minor player in the whole thing - in fact she admitted she made hers from a box mix. I just can't see paying those prices for something that most people really don't enjoy eating. Give me a good, moist carrot cake with cream cheese frosting over a piece of "eye candy" cake any day.

Venison & most other game meats - just don't care for the flavor.

Oh that's cool!!!

Caviar. I don't get it.

I TOTALLY agree. I do not like bagels at all. I used to work with a guy that said I just never had a real bagel (he was from NJ).

The cheese soup in Le Cellier is over rated. I tried it (back when we still ate meat) and really did not like it at all.
