We are staying at the Hyatt. We have a rental car that we will pick up at 9:30 am morning of cruise. Anyone know if we could have the bulk of our luggage taken to ship by leaving it out in hallway with special tag, the night before cruise etc. ?? Thanks in advance.

I don't think you can do that unless you have purchased Disney Transportation to the port.

DCL will only transport the luggage if you have purchased ground transfers. If you do purchase ground transfers and want to use the luggage service, you leave your bags in your room and Hyatt will pick them up in the morning. You have to tell the Hyatt you will be using the service when you check in and I believe there is a form to fill out.

Well.

From the resorts I have done it, I paid a fee equal to $35 one transfer cost and they took my luggage to the cruise and our stateroom, we went by car.

Now I have done this twice, from WDW resorts, not from the airport, but I would check with DCL if you are willing to pay a fee.

The one fee covers up to six luggage bags / suitcases, so for my family we paid one fee, my bags went direct by them, I drove by hire car to PC and my bags were in my room on the ship on arrival.

Of course Disney own WDW resort hotels, they gave arrangements with the Hyatt, it may work, but if you want to try, call DCL.

I asked a CM when we checked in for our trip using DCL transportation from MCO while staying at the Hyatt and they said it was only for people on the transfer that leave the luggage in the room would work since you have to hand the paper the Hyatt gives you regarding your luggage when checking in at the DCL bus transporation checkin downstairs.

Yea, that is what I was thinking --- ah well. Thanks so much for your info!!!

If your main worry is how big the rental needs to be to accommodate bags, I can't help ya there. :)

If your concern is just not wanting to deal with the bags, money takes that difficulty away. Just have a Bell Services person help you from your room to the car (unless the Hyatt people have to hand it off to airport porters, but if so then it's just a little more money). And then when you get to the port, drop off the checked bags at the port before going to return the car or park it.

It's just a matter of extra tip money, and you don't have to touch a bag. :) And I bet it's cheaper than the DCL transfers LOL.

We have done this from the Disney resorts. There was a special operations number they gave me to call the day before we left to schedule. It was $25 and it was charged to my onboard account. HTH.

Did you get the number from Disney cruise or the resort? Was it a price per piece of luggage or just a flat rate? I think this would be a good option for us.

I got the number when I called Disney cruise (sorry, I don't remember number...). It was a flat rate, not per piece of luggage. We opted to do it as we had a car picking us up at our resort and didn't want to worry about the bags.

Thanks! We will have a rental car. But if we can drop it off and not have to deal with it at the port, that is a great option and well worth the $20!

No -- I believe you have to be booked for the Disney transport bus to have that ability.

Wonder if they would still do it for a non-Disney hotel like the Hyatt. I would definitely call DCL directly and inquire. If the CM doesn't sound sure, call back and talk to someone else or ask for a supervisor. Better to have the correct information then to get there and be told no.
