This thread is unbelievable. NOW some posters are telling others how to parent their children. :sad2:

Personal attacks are not allowed, that is a DIS rule.....so why not follow it? As for all the posters that have been complaining about rudeness....perhaps some of you should re-read the thread and look at what it has become. :hippie:

Really? What positive contribution have your posts made?

I find your signature interesting in light of this post.

We had a few very over zealous ones Christmas week, the got better after the holidays!

1. DH, who is 6' 4" and kind of a big guy, DD, 15, DD, 8, who are both big girls, and myself pooh sized were waiting to go on IASW. The boys refused adn were waiting outside. We got through the line and the CM says row 1. We go up there and try to go into 2 rows or the 2nd row. Of course we can't, CM starts yelling to get in, we do DD 8 is on top of DD 15, DH cannot sit in the seat because his legs are too long and the boat is angled in the front seat, I am large and having a panic attack with one cheek on DD. We tried to get out as DD is now crying and they started the boat ignoring us. I was so ticked off. It was a safety hazard and it happened so fast we could do nothing about it.

2. We went to CP on the 27th and had a FP for Maelstrom. We got stuck coming out in abnormally huge crowds, the FP was for 25 mins. after show let out, we arrived 2 minutes according to FP clock late and we hauled the best we could. The CM refused to let us on. We explained what had happened, we even had our CP passes on, and she begrudging let us go on saying she would make an exception this once.

3. At BTM, it was early in the moring, we got off and on about 4 times. It is DD, 8, favorite ride. We were able to walk on and waited about 5 mins. each time. The 4th. time the CM commented "hadn't we had enough, we should let others have a turn and ride it"?????? :confused3

There were a few more small ones but those stick out.

WOW

I never thought the thread would turn into this. I was hoping to see people share some "funny" stories about CMs who were taking there jobs just a little too seriously (I guess some people have never heard of the letter of the law versus the spirit of the law - and we aren't even talking laws).

I guess these same people never speed, never jaywalk, never drift through a stop sign, etc. They pay sales tax to their home state when they purchase out of state, report all income and never "inflate" their charitable contributions. They also probably pay all payrole taxes for baby sitters, nannys or kids doing yard work (remember Nannygate for some of Clinton's Attornery General nominees).

I just never knew that most posters at DIS were perfect...

So to respond to some posts...

My 3 yo son WAS tall enough to ride Dinosaur so his safety was not in question. It was an inconvenience that the CM would remeasure him when I knew that he was already tall enought because he had been on Big Thunder, Star Tours, Soarin', etc. She wouldn't even try a second time. That is being overly zealous.

My 6 yo son WANTS to ride alone because he is growing up ands wants to experience some independence. I think riding a teacup alone is a great start to teaching him responsibility.

Lighten up folks. Enjoy life.

I agree that there can be some funny stories regarding over-zealous CMs. My only disagreement comes with someone telling their child to disregard another person in authority. I was a teacher and the lack of respect in the classroom has reached unbelievable preportions and I believe this stems from the attitude that kids get from parents taht if they don't like something they are requested to do, then they don't have to do it. That's all--stepping down from soapbox. :goodvibes
I had a similar experience at the gate of DW adn had to stop and sign all our tickets. It was a pain as we wanted to get going, but I do see the need.

What's up with all the snide comments lately? Sheesh! I've got a hot cup of tea that's now gone cold because I'm spending all my time having to hunt through a billion posts because people forgot to put on their BE NICE face today and it's starting to make me Grumpy. If you see all of Page One missing in another minute you'll know it's because I just got fed up and hit DELETE.

C'mon children....play nice! One more nasty retort and this one's history.

Oh well, I guess this is another example like I have read many times on these threads how some folks feel it is o.k. to do what they want, and not abide by what the CM's ask them. :rolleyes1

Exactly!!!

Well, that took all of two minutes.

Gone.

Whatever this post has become, just remember that having a ticket to WDW makes you the ticket holder. The owner of the ticket always remains The Walt Disney Co.. The words REVOCABLE are printed on the back. This means at anytime for what ever reason they want, they can deny you entry into their park. What may be small and silly to you, may not seem that way to someone who job depends on following a strict set of rules. Also the CM's at the load and unload are not always the 6 dollar an hour worker. I have seen Imagineers and executives working in those spots. It helps them know how things are running to be in the trenches. It would be funny to fuss at the person who wrote the rule you do not like. It would not be funny to be asked to leave and have your finger print forever put into a database of no entry allowed.
