Overhaul of DTD coming-New Name

including the popular Disneyland concept Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar:cool1:as long as they make it big enough to handle what i expect will be large crowds.

Fans of the Adventurers club will find quite a few familiar things at Trader Sam's (and even one familiar face on a photo on the wall).

It is a great place - the interior is very small, but the exterior (although lacking in kitsch) is great to hang out on a nice California evening.

Now to be called Disney Springs.
Possible to become part of SSR?

Why would it become part of SSR ???

It is a new theme and concept for DD but unrelated to SSR other than being nearby. The current plans call for a new walkway from SSR to the Market Place area (which will be renamed Village Marketplace). It appears that the new walkway will cross the lagoon and eliminate the need to walk along the Lake Buena Vista drive to get to the new Springs area. The current bus stop at Marketplace will be closed to add more buildings and another walkway from what is now the Capt Jacks boat dock across the lake near the Legoland shore will be added.

Never been to DL. Can you elaborate on the Tiki Bar?

It has such a cool vibe, the servers are charactars in their own right (not to be confused with disney-branded ones). It's a must-do on our trips to DL. Interesting in that it's a hangout for many CMs on their way home from work. Just hope they put the right spin on it.

I hope the report of a new bridge between SSR and Disney Springs is correct.

It's in the plans but it won't be a vast improvement over the current setup. It looks like it's set back off the road (current bridge) by maybe 20-30'. Will be nice not having to walk up by the main road, but it won't save more than a couple minutes in walking time.

I just hope they don't put a bunch of pedestrian bridges over the existing lake. It's such a nice setting there, or was really a number of years back. I guess I'd like to see more artist renderings. I really preferred that entire area back when it was called the Disney Village Marketplace. Oh well, the wheels of time march on.

The leaked plans call for two new bridges. The one connecting Disney Springs to SSR runs parallel to the current walkway alongside Buena Vista Drive, but is set back from the road about 30' or so.

The other would run from the T-Rex area of Pleasure Island to Rainforest Cafe in the Marketplace. IMO, this will be a welcome move to help eliminate a lot of congestion in the current Marketplace area.

I just found the plans. Not so sure sure I like that bridge. It will break up the views from when you are in the current market place. I agree they need to do something to correct the egress, but I am not sure I am feeling that bridge personally. The other bridge to SSR is innocuous and out of the sight lines.

It's good to hear about the new SSR bridge. The current one is just a sidewalk attached to a public road. I didn't like the feeling of "leaving the Disney bubble" on the current path.
