Can someone tell me if this sounds right.. i called to see if we could upgrade our ressie with a current code that is out.. i was able to go from all star sports to old key west . the cm told me the total difference would be $80 charged to my visa.. well the invoice stated i was charged $219!!! does this sound right.. with taxes?

it sounds right to me... to go from a value to a deluxe, unless it was for just one night, $80 doesn't sound right... $219 sounds more reasonable... how many nights?

Its for 2 nights and yeah it does sound right but the cm told me that if i upgraded with the code to a moderate it wouldnt be any difference in price.. and if i upgraded to okw or saratoga springs it would only be a total of $80 difference.. for a studio.. im just trying to see if they messed up.. i tried to call and the cm wouldnt tell me she said id have to call back on monday to speak with somone..

Doing the math with tax for two nights $80 per night would work out to that $219 so the cm probably mis spoke deff call back and get more details..

yeah im going to call today ... $219... ??? Old Key West looks really nice but that much more for only 2 nights..I may see if I can get back to the All Stars..

The math works out to $178.40 when I do it. What did I miss?

$80 * 2 nights = $160

11.5% tax = $18.40

Total extra would be $160 + 18.40 = $178.40

The rack rate difference between those 2 rooms(if the All Star is standard weekday pricing) is $371 for 2 nights so you are definitely getting a discount but the CM must have been wrong in how much it actually is.

The tax rate is actually 12.5% at OKW and 13.5% at All Stars but that still doesn't work out to $219.

is there possibly an extra adult or a particular view room that increased the bottom line?

$80/night increase to go from the All Stars to OKW would be a good deal. It is a huge upgrade. However, I'm not sure why the math doesn't work out.

i called today and its $80 per night plus insurance.. i told the cm that I was misled into thinking it was 80 total and would like to switch back to all stars or any other value or moderate that would keep the price the same with the code.. i struck out.. all values are completely booked.. w/and w/out codes and the only moderate available is carribean beach but with the main pool being closed i chose to suck it up and pay the $217.44..

can't you cancel the insurance if you don't want it? Or maybe you do... I thought it was a flat rate per stay, but I could be completely wrong.

That depends. It's like any insurance. Not having it is a gamble. It's one of those things no one wants to pay for. But sure are glad if they need it and have it. ;)

You can cancel the insurance within 14 days of adding it. If they added it without telling you then you can definately remove it. Its a good product though, door to door, covers third party air, etc, etc...
