Overcharged at Disney Character Outlet

I am home from Central Florida and going through some receipts.

I noticed that my receipt from the Vineland Outlet has some errors.

Now, one was a pin that was on a rack marked $3.99, but it charged out at $4.99. I am not going to make a big deal over $1.

However, I also purchased some Magic Bands that were marked at $12.99. These were not with the regular Magic Bands. Sure enough, they charged out at $19.99. Now that's a difference of $14 total, and I feel like that's a relatively significant enough amount to be upset over. And, I likely would not have bought them at 19.99. I specifically only bought them because they were a reduced amount.

Now, yes....I probably should have looked at the receipt before leaving the store, or at least while still at the outlet. Lesson learned, for sure.

Does anyone know if general support may be able to help me with this? Should I call the store directly?

Sadly unless you are able to physically go to the store I would not expect a positive resolution. Especially when it comes to outlet pricing or even sale\clearance pricing best to check before you leave the area. Overcharging does happen.

On the rack labeled a certain price and a sticker on the item marked a certain price are two different things. Unfortunately some things get put around in retail where they shouldn't either by another person or by an employee so sometimes something rings up correctly even if it was put in a place you thought was some other price. On the other hand sometimes things are marked down on a sticker and it doesn't ring up correctly in the system and at that time the employees generally try to ensure it was a sticker properly placed on that item for that price.

Even though it's stating the obvious when I'm out shopping if I know I wouldn't purchase something at a certain price and it has a reduced sticker or was on a rack/display for X% off or something like that I pay close attention to when it's scanned to make sure it comes up correctly. Because I primarily shop on clearance or sales I'm doing this a lot. I know it may be easy to miss $1 when you're paying but having the total be $15 off is a lot (includes the one pin) so not just about looking at the receipt but before you swipe your card or pay in some other method. Again I know that's stating the obvious.

You could contact the store I suppose but any time I've had a price discrepancy like that in retail situations in general it was a "need to physically go back" to handle it unless it's an online order where you're dealing with online support teams but sure call them and discuss your situation, they may be able to clear up if it was a pricing error or rang up correctly too over the phone.

Personally I'd never buy anything from there.
I've seen videos of people showing prices and there were several items I saw in the parks for one price and the retail price was inflated by a lot and then marked as being a huge discount. Was it less than in the parks? Yes but not like 70% less. More like 35% less when you factor in how much the outlet increased the retail price.

Every store does this, they use the MFG price not the price they actually sell at. Retailers can't just pick a random inflated price.

My point is I would not be going out of my way to see something I saw in the parks for $50 marked at $80 and then discounted to $40.
A $10 discount for what I've seen be defective or broken or missing something is not a deal.

We went to the one closer to Universal earlier this month and got some steals! $1.99 for Adult Large Mens Muppet PJ style shorts. $14.99 Adult Large Wish DCL Spirit Jersey, Giselle Matted Print that I had been eyeing forever at Art of Disney still had a $48.99 sticker but we grabbed it for $11.99. Ornaments for $3.99 with sound effects... And we bought multiple Jerry (from Soul) Vase\Pencil holders for $4.99 each instead of the original of $24.99 a piece. (They go with our strange home decor esthetic and we love all the Jerrys).

Is it always that good? Nope. But I am glad we stopped in. (Original Prices were the standard Disney Park stickers- Disney rarely discounts their merch in the parks)

That is not what the characters warehouses do. They do not inflate the price and then discount. They still have the original Disney parks tags on all the merchandise and if you’re lucky occasionally, you can find Disney Cruise line products with their original tags as well.

Some items you can even currently find on Disney store/shop Disney with their original prices and can find them discounted 50 to 70% at the outlet.

I will politely have to disagree with you.
To each their own though. I'm sure there is value in going for some people depending on what they want to buy and what its on sale for.

Hello MMackeyMouse,
What I think you should do is first see if Disney can help you with your overcharged item by writing them an email and if you don't get an email from Disney try looking up the Disney Character Outlet's Vineland location's Yelp page and get the phone number of the store from the Yelp page and call it and ask to talk to the manager and ask for the manager's name and tell the manager your experience and why he/she is overcharged you for your items because it sounds like Disney Character Outlets are raising prices for some of their items and you were not told about this new policy so I wonder if Disney Character Outlet does indeed have a new policy and rules about overcharging on items?
Good luck and hope you call the store and talk with the manager about this and see what they tell you

Hello again MMackeyMouse,
I just went to the Disney Character Warehouse Vineland Yelp page and what I read was that a lot of the customers who shop there had the same complaint and they seem to have a lot of problems with overcharged items. And I also found another Disney Character Warehouse Yelp page on the Orlando location and the same thing has been witnessed there too. So be sure to look at the Yelp reviews for Disney Character Warehouse and you'll be surprised at how many customers have complained about this problem
Let me know what happens and hope you read the Yelp reviews I mentioned on Disney Character Warehouse

this was my experience living near one of their outlets in northern california. at that time the store received shipments from different sources-disney stores, disneyland and cruiseline. all had their original price tags on them. if we were going to one of the parks or on a cruise i would stop by ahead of the trip and see what they had to offer b/c the prices were frequently far less expensive-esp. if it was geared to a holiday, seasonal or event that had recently occured. phenominal deals on christmas items if you waited until a week or two into january-same stuff that was sitting unsold as 'clearance' at the disney store less than a dozen miles away the week prior during their after chrismas sale was selling for an additional 25%-30% off (got lots of ornaments and decor for upwards of 80% off disney parks/cruiseline retail). when the kids were little i got many swim suit/beach towel/small souvineers for pennies on the dollar of what i would have paid in the parks (and saw the identical items in the parks when we traveled there in the following weeks).
