Overalls With No Shirt Under Them?

Nothing wrong with a 2 year old girl wearing only overall. My only concern would be comfort. Would the feel of the straps on her skin bother her?

:thumbsup2 Yep, then can rub something fierce. I would put a light T under it, or save it for a cooler day.

I also think overalls will be too hot and uncomfortable. If you do wear overalls wear a t-shirt or tank top.

OP

Your post i think is unclear... do you mean her breast will show or that someone will be able to look down and see her pubic area and/or underpants and/or diaper?

Your 2 year old does not have breasts so I wouldnt worry about a shirt. If your concern is someone might see her pubic area, diaper or her underpants I again wouldnt worry about it.

If someone is really that sick and hanging out at disney to get some good peeks at a 2 year old's unders they can just hang out in the bathroom and see 3 year olds getting their diapers changed

Wow!

What responses!

I guess wearing overalls all around was a bad idea. ;)

They are shortalls, actually, and they are not really denim material, hard to explain. But they do snap over the shoulder so the straps are a legitimate concern, thanks!

All you could possibly see, if looking hard and she was moving just right, might be her little nonesistant breasts, which look the same as a 2 year old boy, anyway.

I think we will be skipping the overalls anyway in leiu of some sun dresses. Thanks for the comment.

put something underneath! It would just look weird. I have to agree with the hilbilly...ish comment. A tank top is not going to add that much.

Then again in the heat, overalls are just really something that should be skipped, they are just too heavy a material.

Another idea is to have her wear a tank top underneath for a cute look and to cover up, if you wanted. Either way, I think you'll be fine.

:thumbsup2

Maybe I watch too much Law and Order, but I would NEVER place my little girl in a position where her "private" parts could hang out. Yes, I know people are uptight about this sort of thing, but it is not without cause. In your own backyard, go for it, but in a public place worry about safety over fashion. It freaks me out how many creeps there really are out there! :scared:

I understand your point, but a 2 year old chest is not a private part.

With that said, it thinkit is kind of trashy to but on overalls with nothing underneath, absent an emergency. Not for private part reasons, just looks low class. Not quite as bad as seeing a kid running around in nothing but a diaper, but low class none the less. IMO

Just in case anyone would appreciate a lesson in tact.....these responses might have been a little more diplomatic.

"Personally, I think overalls look so much better with a cute tank underneath. Why don't you try it that way?"

"I think that overalls with a shirt underneath them look a lot better than overalls without a shirt. Why don't you try a little thin tshirt or tank?"

Notice the absence of the words trash and hillbilly. ;)

Seriously, I'm not (too) offended. Live and learn!

I couldn't agree with you more OP. Makes one think twice before asking a simple question:confused3

A two year old girl's upper "private" parts are the same as a two year boy's.

A pedophile wouldn't care if your child was dressed in a string bikini or a burlap sack. Most kids are molested by the friendly, out going neighbor, friend, coach, teacher, family member....,
not the creepy looking stranger.

Maybe it is NY slang- I simply meant exposed. And in a perfect world, there should be nothing wrong with it. But there are CREEPS out there- why take a risk and bring that kind of attention to a child???????

Bottom line, a parent must do what they feel is appropriate for them. :scared1:

ahh, actually I think your daughter might find those quite comfortable without a shirt underneith.

My son has a few of these. They are light cotton and lovely in the 104 degree heat. They have a nice air flow a pair of shorts and shirt would not give and since my boy is potty learning I can unsnap the crotch to put him on the potty where as with shorts I would have to pull down and keep them off the floor. I suppose this is why sundresses are so nice. The straps do not rub and they are cute as a button.

Personally I would not worry about a 2 year old's breasts... till puberty its just a chest not breasts

My only concern about not wearing anything underneath is that the buckles might get hot and burn her since it's so hot out. As far as private parts showing, I don't feel it's an issue for a 2yo.

On all of my light cotton non denium overalls have buttons or plastic snaps rather than buckles

I think sundresses are definitely the way to go! Although the thought of a little bikini under the overall- that would have been a cute set-up for an outfit!

I know I have a few pair of shorts and DD's two piece bathing suit- I'm going to let her wear the top with the shorts one day to the park.
