Over the top souvineers???

My husband bought me a beautiful 10 year anniversary ring at Uptown Jewlers in MGM. It is gold and the diamonds are shaped like Mickey's head.

Ooh I like this idea (Mickey drawer knobs), do you know which shop has these or are they available in many of the shops? I want them for my own bathroom, I was just thinking last weekend that I would like to change the knobs on the dresser in the bathroom, and this would be a lovely change.

When we got these last year, we saw them in a shop in MGM Studios, its right next to the Darkroom, I can't remember it now. We got the Mickey hand ones. :)

I splurged and bought a beautiful ceramic stein with a pewter lid in Germany. It was 85.00 and worth it!

When I was there last week, someone was buying all the pieces to the monorail train set thing. I have no idea how much that was costing, but it had to be a ton.

That was what I was going to suggest. My kids would love to have that!

Last December Dh splurged and got me the some Mickey head shaped diamond earrings from the WOD store. He gave them to me for Christmas!

Anyone know if there's anywhere you can see a picture of one the rings? Maybe Dh will feel like splurging again in October! ;)

My biggest slurge last year was the framed and matted character stetch of Tink that I got from the Art of Disney at Epcot (you can go to any of the other AoD's too)... it cost about $80 total with tax and everything. Very happy I got it...it's the first thing I see when I wake up! :)

I have heard you can get your favorite character's image etched into the face of a watch at the shop on Main Street. I think a really nice, watch, with a great disney reminder would be fabulous!

You should shop inside the King's Gallery inside Cinderella's castle. I here they have hand-painted models of carousel horses and crystal castles and more! I plan on shopping there when I visit during Thanksgiving week.

I'd go for one of those one of a kind watches at either the watch store on Main Street, or the watch store in MGM. You can choose the artwork you want. They cost around $200, I think. I've had my eye on one featuring Hockey Homicide cartoon with Goofy.

On my last trip I spurlged on a It's a small world clock in Japan. I love it and enjoy it everyday. I am thinking of buying another one for another area of the house. I would recommend the Art of Disney. they have some nice stuff there!!
When we were there in Dec. we saw the clocks and were totally in awe! We looked like such dorks standing in that shop waiting for the hour to be up again, but that was the coolest thing! We would LOVE to have one of those!

For us it was definitely the Saratoga Springs DVC purchase all because of a $100 gift offer when we stayed at WL for DH's extravagant birthday trip!

We're staying at BWV for the first time as DVC owners next month!

WOW! Those are all great ideas! I especially love the etched crystal idea! I would love to get my ds's image engraved! Where is the best place to have this done? Cost range?? Please keep the ideas coming! I love reading them!

I splurged on a Steiff Bear in Germany last time (dont tell my DH but I want to do it again!) Everytime I look at him I think of Epcot's Germany.

I am a watch freak- so next time Ill buy 2 since the one from last year looks so worn.

My DH and I bought cherry wood picture frames that have mickey heads cut out- they look great.

OH- one night at DTD my DH and I were strolling along and stoped to "wecome a pearl into the world" ALOHA! And then of course selected a white gold setting with a little diamond on top and made a pendent out of it. I have it on today actually.

These are SO awesome!! I love reading this kind of stuff. Previously, sad to say, we have always been on a pretty tight budget when at Disney, limiting our souveniers to T-Shirts and maybe a special toy, etc. for DS. When we went in Jan. 04, a good friend of mine told me that she HAS to splurge on at least one thing while she's there and encouraged me to do the same. She has some BEAUTIFUL gold jewelry with Mickey (mostly rings). When we were there it was quite chilly and I bought me, mom, and Josh Disney jackets. Mine is puple with Tink and WDW on it, Josh got a navy blue one with MM on it and mom got a 4 Parks, One World one. For all three, it was over $200 (which isn't a lot to some, but to me it was DEFINITELY a splurge! ;) ) We wear them ALL the time and it brings back the warm/fuzzy feelings of Disney!!

I am TOTALLY interested in the etched crystal thing. That sounds SO cool!!! Maybe that will be my splurge item this time! I'd love to see a pic of one!

that etched crystal sounds so beautiful :flower:

does anyone know if they ask for a picture or something? or do they take a pic of you there?

Where did you get those? We are doing my son's room Disney (originally Mickey but the other night he said he wanted a Disney theme so as not to limit himself! LOL)

You can find them at the Disney home store in DTD and a Celeb. 5 &10 at MGM. The last time I checked the pulls were about $5.00 each...

I splurge and buy myself a very very special watch at the Disney store in DTD. It is my treat to myself and one that brings back wonderful memories every time I look at it.

I always get a limited edition watch. The last one I purchased was in a beautiful, round jewelry box with Minnie lying on her stomach on the top of it. It was made by Fossil, and the watch is numbered on the back of the face. I love Mickey Mouse watches, and I have quite a large collection. This was my first Minnie watch!
