Over the River and Through the Woods to Mickey's House We Go! And Grandma is in Tow!

:headache:
Our plans call for our first park day to be Epcot. I've got to admit that the first time we visited Epcot, back in 1998, we didn't care for it at all. We seemed to just around aimlessly. It could have been, in part, that we had a one year old and an 11 year old with us so we were a bit pre-occupied. When we came home, I talked to friends and family who said they just loved Epcot and couldn't understand why we didn't like it. Well, I couldn't really understand why they did like it.

We had fallen in love with Walt Disney World on our first trip in 1998 and knew that we would be going back. (However we never knew we'd go back 14 more times. :rolleyes1) I went to the library and read everything I could on Epcot. I watched the vacation planning video. Ya'll remember the days when everything was on video and not DVD? The next year, we went to Epcot knowing way more than we did that first year.

For years and years, our visits were in May and we would see the beautiful Flower & Garden Festival. Then, we had to go to Epcot in August and it was odd not seeing all the flowers everywhere. When I planned this year's vacation, I thought we'd get to attend the Flower and Garden Festival. You can imagine our surprise when I found out that the festival ends in mid-May and not through the end of May. :headache:

Anyway.....Epcot is now one of our favorite parks. I say that but then I'll come back and say that about all of the other three parks too. But, for these purposes, Epcot is one of our favorite parks.

Our plan is to get up early and be at the park for park opening. Yeah right! The last two trips we have said that and we were doing good to get there a little after park opening. Maybe since Mama will on the trip with us, we'll be more on the ball because we want her to see and do everything.

Here's a photopass picture we had taken last year:

First up on our list of things to do is get Fastpasses for Soarin'. I am a fast walker and it's going to be really hard on me to slow down. But, I'll have to get used to it because Mama will be with us. I'm not complaining, just stating the facts. So, I'll probably walk on ahead of everybody and get the Fastpasses. Hopefully, by the time I have them, everybody will have caught up with me and we can ride Living With The Land. I love that ride and was upset that it was closed last trip.

***Doggone it! The Judge's office is on the phone. I need to get back on and set up some conference dates.

Epcot has always been one of my favorite parks. I remember my first time there in 1986, WS was smaller and TT was World of Motion. Oh and Captain EO was showing.........:lmao:

You and my MIL would get along great - she's quite the deal shopper, as well. I have to go shopping with her to find the deals...I just don't have the patience! I do need some more capris before we leave for Disney, though...I'm going to have to find a time to take her shopping!

I think we're heading to Epcot on our second day this year. Our first day is reserved for DHS for Star Wars Weekends. It's the last day, so my DH is really wanting to soak it up. He actually contemplated getting one more day's worth of tickets so that we could go on Saturday when we arrive, but I didn't want to. I'm looking forward to getting there early to mid-afternoon, checking in, checking out the resort, and heading to DTD for dinner. We are NOT starting this trip out exhausted this time!!!

Epcot is one of our favourites too, we bought a 5 day pass wit no hoppers, so we are planning to use the extra day at epcot:woohoo:

I can't believe they are ending the Flower and Garden Festival early this year. We have been end of May/beginning of June and was always able to see all the amazing flowers and toparies.

Lisa, great photopass pic of you and the family in front of Spaceship Earth. :thumbsup2

Now, I have to be honest, and admit that my family is not so crazy about Epcot......Maybe one day we'll grow up and love it! ;)

Our first trip to Epcot we only did half a day and thought it was kind of blah. Well last year we did 1 and 1/2 days there and still didn't do everything! Waiting for more.

That is such a great photo of you & your family at Epcot. I will be looking forward to seeing lots of Living with the Land photos! :thumbsup2

Ya'll, I'm sorry I haven't been back yet. It's billing time at the office and I hate it! The boss has been driving me nuts too so I haven't done much Dising. I promise to come back and catch up with everybody!

It took a couple of trips for EPCOT to grow on us ( as the kids got older) but now it's two days every trip. We break it up by doing the "front part" one day and the country's the next. Soarin and Test Track are a must both days. I feel your pain on having to slow down I am the designated Fastpass getter (is getter a word?) every trip.

Lisa, that's a great photo of you and your family! We too enjoy going to Epcot. DS Alex really likes riding The Land too. Can't wait to read more!

Okay ya'll don't go throwing rotten tomatoes at me or anything of the sort. I was a super bad Diser and didn't get to post over the weekend. I am writing up a trip installment on my "stop making me laugh" trip report and then I'll come back over here and tell you more about my plans.

Don't you just HATE when every day life gets in the way of our DISSING? :rotfl2: Looking forward to more plans.

No worries - no tomatoes from me! :goodvibes I can't complain - I don't have a computer at home, so I never get the chance to update on weekends. The best I can do is read some on my cell phone.

We LOVE Epcot. It's our favorite park, in fact. One of my favorite rides is the Living with the Land ride. :thumbsup2

That's a great pic of the family in front of SE.

What a great picture of your family at EPCOT! Y'all are too cute! :cutie:

Hope this week is starting out better for you! I'm a fast walker too. When we go in November with my family I may have to adopt your walk ahead and get the fastpass plan. :goodvibes
